@@shaunboydmadethis One thing I just feel like should be mentioned regarding this Question what Videos you should make for your community! Just think back for a minute, and remember that you most certainly began making videos and publishing content because you simply enjoy Woodworking and creating something physical, that will always remind you of your skills in turn giving you a healthy confidence in yourself. Now you feel things are changing around you, as your channel seems to grow rather quickly because we all in a different way enjoy watching your workflow and the process to the finished product literally raised from slabs of wood! For me personally It‘s more as if I watch a tutorial where I will always try to mentally comprehend every single step. I am certain that my way of watching videos is something else though, but what this shows you is that whatever you do - you will never satisfy everybody out there! The saddest change in many TH-camrs‘ carreers once they become increasingly famous, is that they totally forget their roots that are the base of their success! And a lot of artists do very untypical things suddenly as a result of them having lost any control of all their community size. It‘s not far fetched to then get the idea to release mainly what the main amount of people watch on youtube, in order to try and satisfy the majority of their community! But what you shouldn‘t ever forget is that fact that YOU will always remain the one deciding what is being done, whether it‘s something easy and less difficult, or a project you have the ability to grow new skills by stepping into unmarked territory, just like building real rustical furniture made from 100% Euro-Pallets reclaimed wood and nails totally without creating any detailed sketches with predetermined dimensions. It‘s quite an adventure to just look at the wood that you have, and have your ideas turn into something that, with each step turns into something more detailed and beautiful - completely driven by your creativity and spontaneous ideas. I for example made a spice rack for the kitchen, and it‘s regularly noticed by guests that can‘t beliefe that it was made from trashed Euro-Pallets (like having a single broken plank). Btw, they are disassembled without adding even more damages to the planks and bricks using a prybar to pry off the planks off from to to bottom. The top ones are usually the most charismatic ones with their worn surface.

Shaun, you are like this old Tony of woodworking. I come here just to spend a time with a friend. What you do is not as important as the time together.
I feel like I have gotten that comparison before. I don't really know his stuff, but I'll take it as a compliment. And I appreciate you hanging out with me!
I’m a small time general contractor. We have a woodshop as part of the business but not to your extent. I watch your videos because I know you’re doing what I would do if I had more time. It doesn’t need to be bigger or better each time, but quality and thoughtful builds are what keep me coming back. Living vicariously through you. Have been watching your videos for a few years now, before and after your partnered. Your character is just as interesting as the builds. Keep enjoying the journey and I’ll keep enjoying coming along. Cheers.
Well said. I’m also a small GC, finish carpenter and woodworker. I watch this channel for a weekly dose of Quality and inspiration. Keep doing what you’re doing
Definitely push the limits on what you do. You inspired me to get out of my comfort zone when making my kitchen built-in. This is what makes a woodworker better in my opinion.
I will quite literally watch any video you decide to put on here. I just like watching people make stuff and you are one of the best. I would never make this particular bed, but I’m glad you did!

We all just want to hear the music at the end when you show your latest creation and then watch you lay down on it. And this time, it’s actually comfortable!! Cheers Shaun!
Beautiful woodworking, and I love the built-in functionality. You did an awesome job of filming and narrating. Build what you love and I will happily watch.

What a beautiful piece of artwork. Phenomenal job that looks so clean and slick and modern, it just looks cool with the brass and the different colors and tones of the wood. Great job!

Great video, Shaun. Yes, we definitely share the same trait about trying to do more, project after project, but that's what keeps us going. As I said in your last video, great to see you posting again on your channel.
That's a really beautiful project, Shaun. I totally understand the compulsion to get detailed and overcomplicate things; it's how I operate, too. So I'd say keep up the complicated work because it's amazing, then chill on a project or three while you're brainstorming the next dip into madness. Keep up the great work!
Everyday skillsets abound. Edge cases and corner circumstances that arise from unique builds transfer to other constructions. Your not just grooving an inlay but demonstrating a channel method that could be helpful. The LED imbed opens up a world of outside the box ideas. In my case, seeing the need for reinforced struts above ceiling to stabilize a louver wall
I personally loved this build. You left me with an intense desire to build something just as creative as this. Keep it coming please. You are an inspiration 😊
So an old man’s trick for tensioned wood rips…as you’re ripping let the wood get about 10-12” past the blade and turn off the saw. Next put one or two 1/8” wedges between the pieces. Back the board off an inch or so, turn saw back on an keep cutting. That’s it! Your tension-woes are over. VERY nice work, sir. I may steal an idea or two.
14:51 - that dewalt quick clamp slots into the bottom channel of your track silly! also a tso rail square would save you the step of busting out a big square and manually squaring up the track :)

I'm both. Your builds are as inspiring as they are educational with a good amount of self-deprecating humor. Thank you for sharing your time and talent!
Your presentation and explanations are great. You also give a bit of zen in your presentation which is lovely. Whatever you build, you've got a great following and I suspect many (most?) of us are here for you, less than what you're building. Having said that, I love everything you build. We have a similar design imperative.
Honestly, I just found your channel, so take this as you want. I like to watch people push themselves and struggle because, whether or not it fails, I like the emotional aspect of that comes with trying things. And their always room for a second video if doesn't work.
Shaun, beautiful work on this. Since you kind of asked, my advice is to make things that excite and please you. That will come through in the content. Don't be afraid to give the YT algo the finger, either. The woodworkers I've subscribed to and still watch (like you) have stuck to subjects they like, enjoy making, and then present them in whatever duration is necessary to effectively communicate the project.
Yeah, that's one of the best projects I've seen you build, Shaun. I've been watching your channel for a quite a few years (when you were building things in your little one-car garage) and I've enjoyed watching your skill improve tremendously.
Bro! That is the nicest headboard ive seen! I wish i had 1/2 your skill! As for content? it doesn't matter what type. I always learn something new & Your builds are ALWAYS TOP NOTCH & BEAUTIFUL!
Honestly, I think this is my favorite thing you ever built. Close to my favorite project on youtube. I mean all your projects are beautiful, but sometimes youtubers projects feel like they are complex, just to be complex. Like they wanted to design a project around that particular skill. Plus I'm personally a touch more old school in my choices for aesthetics. This...all the complexity is functional, and truly adds more to the piece than, "hey that would be cool."
Looks good, well done. When you are invested in something and you achieve your goal it makes it all worthwhile. I look forward to your videos as they convey your honesty and humility. cheers
Dude... that is a fantastic looking headboard! I think you achieved your goal of one upping yourself. Great idea with the lights swinging out like that. Thanks for the inspiration!
Those hiden lights MAKE this head board. Very inventive. I watch your videos, because I like watching people build cool stuff. At times I pick up on something where I say: "Hey, that's clever.." Ow... and your Sahara dry funny delivery ALWAYS gives me a chuckle. 😄
0:40 gloves and long sleves on the job. love it.. just a hands up since i know you have been woodworking for a while now.. a mate lost his hand doing that. no pun intended
Thank you Shaun for sharing this wonderful video. You have an amazing presence in your wood craft and design. The intricacies juxtaposed with simplicity, drawer pulls are a great example. Focus on what works. Wishing you and your family a blessed week. Peace brother
Love everything Shaun. Everything is useful in its own way. Something that is simple and more approachable may be something we could consider building. But complex projects can highlight some aspects / techniques that we could use, even if never tackling anything of that type of a scope.
I get so fired up when the reveal music comes on. I love all your work. I can't wait to get one of your plans this summer for my summer project. Keep it up! The headboard is amazing!

Yeah, that's one of the best projects I've seen you build, Shaun. I've been watching your channel for a quite a few years (when you were building things in your little one-car garage) and I've enjoyed watching your skill improve tremendously.
Really appreciate it! Thanks for sticking around over the years!
I look forward to your videos as they convey your honesty and humility.
cheers
I enjoy watching everything you do, so the most important thing is that you keep making them. This build is incredible though, brilliant!
Dude... that is a fantastic looking headboard! I think you achieved your goal of one upping yourself. Great idea with the lights swinging out like that. Thanks for the inspiration!
That is an incredibly beautiful piece of furniture. You really knocked out of the park on this one, Shaun.
Yes. We enjoy watching you do projects.
Shaun, just make anything you want. You do it perfectly!
That looks bloody great, and I felt every word of your whole brain workings chat.
great project. i like seeing makers challenging what can be done. there you go ... have fun.
the reading light is a genius idea, beautiful piece.
Those hiden lights MAKE this head board. Very inventive.
I watch your videos, because I like watching people build cool stuff. At times I pick up on something where I say: "Hey, that's clever.."
Ow... and your Sahara dry funny delivery ALWAYS gives me a chuckle.
Thank you for watching!
Right on! Really appreciate it, and happy to hear you'll take a crack at one of our courses!
beautiful work. At my level, 2/3 of the slat mounting screws would have been in line with the finishing bevel cut!
Great work Shaun. Really enjoyed watching you build this. I think it’s a great piece!
This is one of the most gorgeous pieces of furniture I’ve ever seen.
Shaun, your videos never fail to inform and entertain. I loved the piece and enjoy your style. Those drawer fronts...dayaam!
Love your videos. Very humble down to earth when at the same time your level is a master. Thank you!
How to deal with tension!! Thank you!!! I had this problem last week but it was only for a workbench trim. Thanks
I found this channel a few months ago and looking over all your content, it pretty varied and unique stuff.
This piece came out awesome!
The most important thing is what you like to create. This piece is so well designed and made.
