I have never listen to U2 before. I like hip hop music but seriously i wanna thanks U2-Apple so much because the injected this album on my itunes. Seriously i ve loved this song for the first time i listened to it. Volcanooo i dont wanna know !
Still my favourite band, 38 years old now still yet to see a better band, make the hairs on my neck stand up when I hear them play long live The mighty U2 !
One of my most favorite energetic track in Songs Of Innocence.. I love you more U2.. Something in me wants to blow, alright .. You and I are rock and roll!!!
This live version is much better than the original. Full of feeling. I discovered this song while I was taking a shower at work and a collegue was listening to this. But the studio version. I listened to it for days straight! I come here every now and then to listen to it and sing aloud!
Loving this song. Totally giving me a flash back to Zoo TV, sounds like a combination of Zoo Station and The Fly. That bass line O.o Who says U2 isn't a rock band, this song rocks. As a wise ol' piano man once said "it's all rock and roll to me".
I wasn't sold on this song on the album, though I could sense the live potential. Having now heard it, all I can say is WOW - playing like boys again and that breakdown is something else - true rock. Larry is massively underrated in the rock pantheon
Right on the money - it's totally in fitting with the theme of the album: "innocence" is as much a reference tot he subject matter as it is to the form.
Splodge Furrer That is true of most of their albums over the last 20 years or so. For example, 'Wake up Dead Man' was a concept floating around during Achtung Baby , but did not appear on 'Pop', until 1997. Incidentally, a very different musical version of this concept was released as 'She's gonna blow your house down' on the AB reissue. The 'Wake up dead man' lyrics with this music, can be heard on the AB Outakes bootleg of this version. In summary, they are not rehashers, as you seem to infer, but have a backlog of ideas which fit their style, but which they refine for release. It's just the way they make their music. I, for one, am glad it took 3 years for this album, as the refinement in the music, shows in the end product.
Splodge Furrer While I can appreciate your perspective, I think that if you stick hard to this concept of 'new', then you will always be disappointed. The Pentium chip was used in the 60's during the Vietnam War in ICBM's but did not see wide scale industrial use in home PC's until the early 90's. Ditto, lithium batteries and halogen globes. My point is simply that they didn't write the song the day before release, but so what? The fact that recently produced it is the point. They have been using the I-V-vi-IV chord progression for a while now (With or Without You, being a prime example - and in fact, Beautiful Day is just a rework of this progression cf. same chords, different order). I agree that they have struggled in recent years and Jimmy Iovine summed it up when he said to Bono "You are long way from where you need to be to make the music you want' SOI is an attempt to get back to this place. It may not be great. It may not be entirely new either, but we've never heard it before and it is all we've got. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I%E2%80%93V%E2%80%93vi%E2%80%93IV_progression
Splodge Furrer Respectively, that is just sophistry. They are 'new' songs. If we were to take your definition, then only the last melody that came in their head could be new. What is the timeframe on it? 3 months? 6 weeks? 8 days? Further, If your assertion is true re: RBW, then it is all the more apropos the title of the album. It gives it more weight that it is from a time in their life when they were, in Bono's words, 'naive'
The world is spinning fast tonight You can hurt yourself tryin' to hold on To what you used to be I'm so glad the past is all gone Been out in the wild Been out in the night Been out of your mind Do you live here or is this a vacation Volcano You don't wanna, you don't wanna know Volcano Something in you wants to blow Volcano You don't wanna, you don't wanna know Your eyes were like landing lights They used to be the clearest blue Now you don't see so well The future's gonna land on you Been out in the wild Been out in the night Been out of your mind Do you live here or is this a vacation Volcano You don't wanna, you don't wanna know Volcano Something in you wants to blow Volcano You don't wanna, you don't wanna know You're on a piece of ground above a volcano You were alone And now you're not alone You were alone But you are rock n' roll You and I are rock n' roll But you are rock n' roll You and I are rock n' roll Oh, volcano You don't wanna, you don't wanna know Volcano Something in you wants to blow Volcano You don't wanna, you don't wanna know You're on a piece of ground above a volcano
Que canción por dioooos!!!! y el toque que le dio mi Bono casi para finalizar fue sublime ese es el Bono que extrañaba con esos gritos orgasmicos que me ponen a millon U2 es lo máximo dioses entre los dioses
Sigurd Hegland that's the beauty of every U2's album -> there are so many great songs, that every one has different favourite song... as myself... raised by wolves :)
I mean.. Jools' show got everything perfect there.. the lighting, ambiance, everything, and U2 just gave a sublime performance of a new song nearly 40 years after they started. Not the new raw edge (no pun intended) they had then, but more mature but rocking music I associate with them. Whether they can ever achieve the brilliance of my all time neck hair curling miracle that was "One", I'll be surprised, but who knows with these guys... they always said they will stop when it doesn't work any more..and still they go on making stuff like this.. please keep going boys!!!
I was never a big fan of U2 but when my iphone injected the songs of innocence album into my list, I instantly loved them
Same it’s the memories of that times and the iphone for me
Me too from ipad 4
thats how addicted to this master piece
Me pasó exactamente lo mismo!
I'm from ipad2
This Song is like 70's rock music. The guitar rif is the best.
Adam's thunderous bassline is epic!!!!! What a performance!
As Graham Norton said last day 'The biggest band in the world'. Can't wait to see them on tour again.
Great performance, Bono is killin it up there
I have never listen to U2 before. I like hip hop music but seriously i wanna thanks U2-Apple so much because the injected this album on my itunes. Seriously i ve loved this song for the first time i listened to it.

Charalambos Hadji same!!! that's how Volcano become my fav
Since 1990 U2 music was strongly influenced by hip-hop and related genres. If you like hip-hop music tracks you will appreciate them
Si no me equivoco venía ese album gratis, recuerdo que le pedía prestado su iPhone 4 a mi amiga para escuchar U2
thanks Apple free U2 music
Still my favourite band, 38 years old now still yet to see a better band, make the hairs on my neck stand up when I hear them play long live The mighty U2 !
THE BEST BAND EVER!!!
To still write songs like this and perform like this after 40 years is genius
I AGREE
One of my most favorite energetic track in Songs Of Innocence.. I love you more U2.. Something in me wants to blow, alright ..
You and I are rock and roll!!!
Vol-ca-no!!!! great for a stadium or arena!!!!!! can`t wait to see them back!!!

And he sings too he doesn't yell!!
Really went away from U2 over the last couple of albums but this one has brought me right back. Good stuff lads!
This live version is much better than the original. Full of feeling. I discovered this song while I was taking a shower at work and a collegue was listening to this. But the studio version. I listened to it for days straight! I come here every now and then to listen to it and sing aloud!
This particular song sounds amazing live, probably even better than the studio version. Groovier, I think
Agree. You've got a very good sense of observation. Not so sure you're just a "simple guy" 😉😉😉
Great song, great meaning, great rythm, great lyrics, performance
Really impressed by the vocals here
U2 = AWESOME
This song could open the new tour
U2 always incredible!
Loving this song. Totally giving me a flash back to Zoo TV, sounds like a combination of Zoo Station and The Fly. That bass line O.o Who says U2 isn't a rock band, this song rocks. As a wise ol' piano man once said "it's all rock and roll to me".

Amazing, the best song for me !!!
The Best band in the World
Total U2. Absolutely brilliant!
Been in love with the band eversince the Joshua Tree album!
Love U2. Always have since (Almost) the very beginning.
This reminds me a bit of their early/mid 80's stuff.
I'm glad their back.
Right on the money - it's totally in fitting with the theme of the album: "innocence" is as much a reference tot he subject matter as it is to the form.

Just perfect.
Best Band Ever.
The world is spinning fast tonight
You can hurt yourself tryin' to hold on
To what you used to be
I'm so glad the past is all gone
Been out in the wild
Been out in the night
Been out of your mind
Do you live here or is this a vacation
Volcano
You don't wanna, you don't wanna know
Volcano
Something in you wants to blow
Volcano
You don't wanna, you don't wanna know
Your eyes were like landing lights
They used to be the clearest blue
Now you don't see so well
The future's gonna land on you
Been out in the wild
Been out in the night
Been out of your mind
Do you live here or is this a vacation
Volcano
You don't wanna, you don't wanna know
Volcano
Something in you wants to blow
Volcano
You don't wanna, you don't wanna know
You're on a piece of ground above a volcano
You were alone
And now you're not alone
You were alone
But you are rock n' roll
You and I are rock n' roll
But you are rock n' roll
You and I are rock n' roll
Oh, volcano
You don't wanna, you don't wanna know
Volcano
Something in you wants to blow
Volcano
You don't wanna, you don't wanna know
You're on a piece of ground above a volcano
Love U2

Far better than the studio version! Welcome back guys!

Tocaron de las mejores canciones que tienen en su historia, es magnífica esa guitarra y ritmo que hasta te hace bailar!!
Very, very good performance !! I would turn the bass volume up a little, but it's near perfect ! I'm sure they will perfect it for the tour !
