BIG River Perch! UK Lure Fishing

Another hard winters session searching for some BIG river perch and pike!
its always hard at this time of year but I managed to scrape a bite or 2, I tired leave some bits in that I normally don't - explaining why its important to get the other river early etc - hope you enjoy!

I'd be happy with 1 perch of that size for a session! Top fish mate! A proper winter perch! :) good luck for rest of season!
On a side note, it has been super super hard for about 2 weeks (had 6 short blanks). For some reason when the temp got up to 10 degrees or so I switched to exclusively crankbaits and had 3 perch over 2lb and 1 perch over 3lb in 2 sessions. Weird how that works, I tried all the usual ned, texas, jig heads and it was crankbaits that did the job.
Need to try those LMAB shads, they look so good!

Back in the 70's not many used lures for perch. Maybe a Mepps spinner and that was about it.
My biggest perch in the U.K was on a float and maggots, 2lbs 2 ozs.

Meps, blue fox, reflex, mira, myran, vibrax them spinners was killers in 70 - 80 - 90 for sure. Had my PB perch on a 22cm rapala redhead while pike fishing in 89. Rapala always works aswell, still today killer for perch and trout

That was a very nice big perch mate! A few days ago i got my first big pike from 90 cm and fat, days before i catch pike too but no longer as 60 cm but the last pike was a very nice one, am looking for my first meter pike…. Best regards mate 👍👍👍

For sure. I’ve commented a few times on his spot on casts & he seems to get quite a bit of distance too. I like the way he holds onto the lure & lets it flick out into the distance. If I tried that the lure would surely catch me first in the fingers. 😩😂🤣🎣🎣👍🏻🇦🇺

Loverly perch what condition they are in this river, this is the same area Colin hebb caught a big pike on his latest video, Beverly ship yard on the river Hull becoming a regular watch on TH-cam of late same area fox consultant Jason Stokes had his 4lb perch. good luck to y’all this next month could produce the biggest of all 🤞🏽

Did me and josh manage to ruin the film completly from when we met you at the river? You need to show that pike anyway. Just use the landing and the picture. That was a tank aswell on that rod. Keep up the amazing job pal

Big baits = big perch. And 11 cm aint that that oversized för pers fishing. The Rapala Shadow rap 11cm gets totala smashed by many mid-sized perch.
