I’m a Brit who lives overseas and I miss specimen hunting for big perch so much, so I’d say keep going until you get that pb! Maybe have one rod out with a bait and spin with the other?
Lovely video, go on have another session there ! I must admit I would never have considered using bite alarms for Perch, always been eyes glued to the tip and strike the bend. ATB MMMD
Hi, shrimps are a very good bait for sure and for merely any fish. That's probably why the use of prawns and fish eggs is strictly forbidden in France.
Nice fish but nothing to get really excited about, I think that all commercial fisheries hold big perch, their eggs are brought there by birds. I've got a shoal of them in my pond that got there that way. From my local water I've had perch to 3•5lbs on prawns but my technique is much more basic than yours. I thred the prawn on the hook lengthwise with the end going up the line, they can't get it off without being hooked. Also as a prawn is quite heavy I never have any weights on the line except in extreme conditions when I just use one split shot. Like you I find carp a nuisance and big roach and rudd also like them but I don't mind catching a 2lb roach!
I thought that ,EYES ROLL , I bet so called specimen anglers with all the gear kill more fish than otters , seen it loads of times with barbel total idiots.
Definitely need a part 3 lads...great to see bait fishing for perch instead of lure fishing...i could watch this content all evening 👌

My biggest Perch came on a hair rigged prawn while carp fishing. I’ve used them for Perch ever since.

What’s the location? I guess in Norfolk, but we’re exactly 😊
hi m8 where is lake thanks
Why did you choose to fish with a lead and not a maggot feeder?
Probably because they don't want to attract small fish.
More Please......... :)
Keep going and get that 3 pounder

I have had 6lb perch in Lincolnshire
😂 So you have a record???😂
Come back in summer 😎
Get a livebait out Steve
Might a little deadbeat pick out the bigger perch in there?
I think when they get to a certain size they much prefer live bait or lure…
You can’t just leave it there, see it through to the end.
Try again. This is excellent.
Get yourselves down to Devon and Ill show you some ponds with high 4s under your feet. When I get a 3 Im dissapointed, spoiled huh
Put the fish back quicker, please.
