    Have come across a few of these with start monitoring faults and ended up being the EGR valve. The end of the valve falls off so the exhaust just gets pumped back into the intake. The EGR is located over the gearbox. Last one I had in I just pulled back the EGR pipe from the intake and the car started.

    Check the intercam chain aka check if exhaust cam turning through the oil cap, common to break on these causing non start, if this is the case it is usually more economical to replace the engine because the timing chain breakage usually destroys a lot, depends on part and labour costs you have locally though.
    Check that no recent work has been done on HP pump (such as for a recall or smt else) where they could have accidentally mixed the supply and return on the HP pump, you could see this by looking at the datapid for the LP which would then be around 8 bars instead of 5bars. Make sure the return pipe is not being crushed by anything.
    Check for ice formation in the bottom of the intercooler, it could have become thick enough to block enough of the diameter of the outlet pipe to starve the engine of air, although considering it's perhaps not cold enough at this time of year where you are and the fact that the car is inside and could have melted the ice already fixing itself it's unlikely, but anyhow it is easily accessed by removing the lower engine protection and unscrewing the exiting charge pipe from the intercooler which is positioned infront of the right wheel well, if this is the case empty the intercooler of any water and oil, thaw the entire intake circuit with a heat gun by blowing into the upper charge pipe and after everything is thawed and cleaned drill a small 2-4mm hole in the bottom of the intercooler at the lowest point to prevent future occurrences.

      Boost leak after drilling !!! The intercooler.

    • @nesmio7378
      @nesmio7378 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Rubberdinghyrapids Depends on the size of the hole you drill, too big and it will cause issues, small enough however will be fine and will still fulfill its function of draining the built up water at the lowest point of the intake system being the bottom of the intercooler. I have done this to around 25 cars in the past 3 years and all are running fine with the issue not returning. If you have this issue however and you are not comfortable with doing this you can feel free to not do this and find some other solution to ice formation in the intercooler or just leave it altogether and have the check engine light + limp mode + no starting return every 4-5 days no matter how many times you empty the water and ice in the climates similar to my local one, your choice I will not be able to decide for you, only for my customers ;)

      @@nesmio7378 I've seen Thomas from exovcds channel doing that, but for different reason. After he drill the small hole, he put a screw into it. Purpose in his case is to drain oil from time to time.

    Merry Christmas Sandy. You may want to speak with your local dealer about this as there is a TSB for those two codes for breaking of the timing chain. There is a list of modified replacement parts as long as your arm! Got one in at the moment getting a new engine.

    Nice, thorough testing Sandy. I have seen camshafts to twist on a few occasions. The marks at the timing pulleys is correct but internally valves opening incorrectly. Also timing chain between camshafts to jump.
    But definitely introduce your own fuel source (brake clean or easy start) to prove or rule out mechanical fault, it still might not start if egr is wide open 🤔🤔

    No compression on cyl's 2and 3 from your cranking waveform , p0017 cam sensor b exhaust cam signal

    this has been going on for 3 years.. it's full warrenty if you done maintenance correctly.As an independant, you shouldn't be touching this crap
    chain changed from 8 to 9 mm, new camshafts, valvecover, timing belt etc needed.
    remove oil cap, crank it, see if exhaust cam rotates, end of diag.. takes full 3 minutes

    should there not be 4 compression events between injector firing event? It is a 4 cylinder right?

    • @paulh4809
      @paulh4809 ปีที่แล้ว

      Looks like it’s missing compression on cylinder 2 and 3 maybe a head gasket blown between the 2 cylinder’s.

    • @sandyande
      @sandyande  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Phillip it’s a 4 cylinder engine but I’ve seen sometimes you get “cross talk” on a injector circuit from other injectors firing events it’s actually better to measure current than voltage. Best suggestion so far is that the Exhaust camshaft isn’t turning! Merry Christmas Phillip, Sandy

    Hi there Sandy I come across this video whilst trying to confirm whether Peugeot injectors need coding there seems to some that say yes and others that say no so what is the answer? Thanks

    • @dasouth1978
      @dasouth1978 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      diesels all need coding on psa, look at the injector, the coding is stamped on it.
      otherwise, take an account on servicebox for an hour & look up the procedure
