Great video Matt, thanks for sharing, I have a Citroen Dispatch ( 2014) no problems at the moment but ill be checking it out when the weather improves! Mick
Nice work Matt. I have been so well impressed by your use of the wire tracker I bought myself one. Not the same manufacturer but I think they all function very similarly. Thx. Cheers Pal
Hey Matt Same van same place same tug on same corroded brown wire should be 👍. It's for pussey cat charity lady it's cost her £ 2000 so far in a couple of garages with still no fix and same symptoms as yours. So thanks for info.
update.. all buttoned up no codes all seems good and back on the road thanks again.. But what on earth caused all this on the same little brown wire as in your video?
Great video Matt I'm tempted by that power tracker as it would have saved my embarrassment at a job yesterday (I'll post it tomorrow) on a transit cheers my friend, Sandy
Great video but it will help if you also show where exactly the fuses you checked are located and where exactly you connect your oscilloscope to check if it gets volts. I have the same problem and really need help. Thanks once again for the awesome videos!
@@mechanicmatt871 Thanks Buddy, I have a situation that which a 207 had flat battery symptoms, and even after replacing the battery the next day all is completely dead....no crank, no ECU communication, and continuous economy mode after a few seconds. The inertia switch was previously removed by the previous owner you can hear a relay clicking under the dash when turning the key and the instrument panel does turn on.......any ideas?
Great video Matt. I have a similar problem with a 2010 Fiat Scudo except mine cranks but won't start. I had a new key made this week in case that was the problem but the key guy showed me it's the body control module not working or not getting power! So it looks like a broken wire again! Since you made this video gleaned any new routes for testing? I now have a similar tone tester for broken wires but I'm struggling to get the snail clamps to release on the ecu plugs a video on releasing various plug fittings would be helpful. Keep up the good work. Cheers
I had a similar problem with 2012 Expert no crank, solenoid clicking. Has already clean battery earth on drivers floor. Battery 12.8v drops to 11 ehen trying to start. Got new battery still the same. Measured from battery neg to body some resistance showing. Varied when batteryneg lead moved. Stripped off neg lead and replaced with 25mm flexi. Crimped big copper lug. Started fine cranked fast. Put original battery back and started fine. Neg lead had gone high resistance!! Job done and I was thinking new starter motor. 😂
So ok i have just had this issue come up with the dashboard looking like disco light flashing on & off with lost mileage ect ect ect, it turned out the be the wiring loom on the ABS pump but also could be the ECU loom as well because both looms are connected, i have not looked to find what's causing the issue as yet, but if i keep the loom up in the air it stops the fault so just zip tied the loom up for now,,,cleared all codes an everything fine now!!!! Hope this may help some folk out there!

Good work Matt! Can you share what diagnosis program/Appliance you used at the start of the video and what connector you used? I'm searching for something to diagnose my own Peugeot expert II for a different, but similar fault.
I started checking in this with a launch scan tool, to get an idea where to start. Then I used auto data so that I could check powers and grounds and can bus at the engine ECU. I don't have access to auto data any more, I have been told that it doesn't have pin data now, it only has wiring diagrams. Thanks for watching
Hopefully, it may be a common fault. See if any wires are broken near the bell housing side of the gear box when you open up the wiring harness. Thanks for watching
Iam vary great full good master u have Peugeot 206 with similar problem like this my is permanent fault communication with the column height ECU on bsi I check all the wireing OK I change the bsi and comm 2000 not OK pls what can I do next need help pls
Hi Patrick, I really should have shown a close up of that wire whilst making this video. I don't know off hand but I'll try and find out and let you know. Thanks for watching
It looks like it was the brown wire in the brown (centre) plug. This is powered with the ignition switched on. Try giving it power if it hadn't already got power. I jumped mine from the red wire with 12 volts on the black plug. Try using a fuse in the jumper like I did. If in doubt you may get a free wiring diagram from carmin STD app in the play store.
I would check for battery voltage at all of the fuses and make sure their is a good ground connection near there. The noise may be a relay clicking on and off due to bad contact
Hi Matt, hope you're well! I was wondering if there was a way I could contact you directly? I am currently experiencing the same issue with my Peugeot expert. No communication with ECU. Fuses are all ok (ECU has also been sent away and scanned - it is ok too) I'm really at the end of my tether here and can't seem to get help from anyone locally. I am based in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire. It would be good to talk with you and hopefully acquire your services? Thanks, Andrew.
Hi Andrew this one ended up being a broken wire, it was a small brown wire in the centre plug in at the ECU. This wire is powered with the ignition switched on, to let the ECU know to switch on. It was not any of the thick power wires or thick ground wires. If you take of the cage at the ECU and remove the electrical connectors, it may be worth trying to put power through a fused jumper wire to the brown wire and see if it starts. If it does and you want to find the break in the wire, on this van it was near the bell housing at the top of the gearbox. Thanks for watching, If this doesn't help let me know.
Hi, I started at the engine control unit, the four thick wires, two power and two grounds. Then I checked for the 12 volts feed with the ignition switched on, I think that was pin 69. Also I checked for a good looking can bus signal. Thanks for watching
I dont have any power on the wires that are going to the ecu, abs module is geting power, any idea what could it be? All the fuse are oke and no demaged wires found. Coms with all the modules are oke, only the ecu is the problem
Definitely needing a wiring diagram and follow the wires back to a fuse or relay. You could try jumping power to the two thick wires that should have it. It's easy to test the two that should be ground by connecting a test light to battery positive and seeing which wires light up the test light.
