So that where all our ex-military vehicles go to huh? :-). Those are somewhat rare vehicles in the US, surprised to see that many in one place in a foreign country. Awesome video!
It isn't true that jeeps can go everywhere. However..... I'm 74 and I'm still amazed at what they can do. My wife and I had one from 1999 to 2008 and we went places in that thing that nobody in his right mind would ever attempt!
We moved from Finland to Holland and I have to say that people here are much friendlier and open. The job market is rather bad at the moment and you really have to speak dutch to get a job here. Greetings from Wageningen!
Merci D'avance.
@Kristo Anto They are Oldtimers, and over 30 years old. So for as far as I know, you only have to add a rear fog lamp to make them road legal for today's traffic. For the rest, you could remove the bumpers, dump parts of the bodywork and so on. As long as it has original headlights, tail lights and the added rear fog lamp, police may pull you over, but in theory they can't fine you for driving an unroadworthy vehicle, as the law gives you more room to play with those old cars. But I wouldn't be happy seeing someone tear such an icon down to make of it what they want. This belongs to be the vehicle America intended it to be.
Much of the material like these jeeps or trucks were just left behind. First, because it was too big of a logistics job to get it back, but mainly they were left behind for people in the country. Much of the trucks have been used as utility vehicles, or were converted to fire trucks. Up to the late fifties, you'd see one of these vehicles somewhere on your way.
These are willy’s, assembled in the Netherlands for the dutch army, aka Nekaf. They are made between ‘55 and the end of sixties and used till the end of eighties. The type is M38A1 and they are built and used in the USA as well. Vietnam and Korean war were places where they worked.
Thanks for the video! I am restoring an M38A1 myself and often need videos like this to keep me motivated.
No time have the exit song been a better fit than this video.

Altijd al een willy's fan geweest. Mooi stukje betrouwbaar techniek. Helaas zwakke versnellingsbakken.
Switch CC on, we use a different method putting subtitles on

That's so weird , cause in the netherlands you see them everywhere
Those are mainly M38A1s. They where made in the Netherlands from 1955 to 1962. The military used them until the late '90s.
