      I mean if the jeep is all original and unrestored but in good condition, of which quite a few where I am are, this shouldn’t be done especially so without roll cage but if the jeep has had work done to it then it should be safe and jeeps are allowed to stretch their legs every now and then especially old flat fenders

    I owned a 1947 CJ-2A in the 80s. They have some real advantages over larger 4x4s. My friend had a 1949 CJ-2A. We had a lot of fun with those Jeeps.

    • @russetwolf13
      @russetwolf13 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You get similar advantages out of old subarus. Small and light is such a valuable trait when offroading, we had an old VW Bus that would pull crazier shit offroad than a lot of 4x4 SUV's will do now.

    • @SocialistDistancing
      @SocialistDistancing 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@russetwolf13 ya, it seems that a lot of old technology is more resilient and capable than all the new crap that they want to sell us. I can fix an old Jeep on the side of The road. New vehicles, you need a tow truck and a analyzer. Garbage if you ask me. You won't see any restoring these computerized plastic vehicles.

    They were designed to go anywhere and they do. Had a buddy with a Korean vintage willys and he was always pulling monster trucks from stuck situations. Then to add shame, go into the same hole and out in 2wd. [add] I had a '77 CJ-5 and it also went everywhere I pointed it. No mods. Loved the way mine would drive itself. I see you guys having fun with that too. Wish I still had it now.

    • @rexjolles
      @rexjolles 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      They shouldn't be in museums because they're all restored anyway so it's nothing special to look at. Same thing with my car. Its nothing special, just because it's 72 doesn't mean jack. Its rusty and creaky and falling apart with 30% of the car being Bondo, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. When I die it's getting donated to a museum though. I can't let anyone else have her. Most of the soldiers in WWII had never even seen a 4WD vehicle, let alone driven one. Can you imagine how astonished they were when they learned the capabilities of that little Willys jeep? (And yes, they are tiny compared to most of the 4WD vehicles built in the twenty-first century.)

    What about the "stairs run"? I once watched this by a Willys.
