  • -----------------------------------------------------
    INGREDIENTS for the Berta Jay's
    GARLIC BALSAMIC DRESSING
    -----------------------------------------------------
1/4 cup Balsamic vinegar (i use 365 from Whole Foods)
    1/3 cup water
    2 tablespoon pure lemon juice
    1/8 teaspoon xanthan gum
    --------------
    1 clove minced garlic
    1/8 teaspoon dry mustard
    1 teaspoon prepared mustard
1/2 teaspoon salt (I use Himalayan salt, but use your favorite)
1 1/4 teaspoons sweetener (I used xylitol and maple syrup)
    -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_
    I get xylitol here:
    www.wholeandna...
    xanthan gum:
I get it from my local supermarket or anywhere Bob's Red Mill products are sold.
My objective for this channel is to share with others what I have learned over the last 30+ years about living and eating healthier. I share my knowledge with my small circle of friends all the time. I am not a doctor, nor do I hold any type of medical degree, but I believe that my tried experiences may help someone else.
For over 30 years I have used every diet imaginable to lose weight, but I confess that I am now at home using the vegan lifestyle. I want to share what I have learned about eating and enjoying food. And, since I am still learning how to be more consistent with this lifestyle, I have decided to eat more healthily, realizing the weight will come off eventually. Though I have not reached my goal weight, I know that sharing with other people in front of a camera with help me to stay on course.
I have, with the help of my husband of 37 years, raised 3 grown children. I will also share some cooking shortcuts as well as some natural formulas I have used and still use for everyday problems.

Sounds yummy. For those how use flax meal, adding 1-2 tsp of that that will also thicken a salad dressing.

I like fresh garlic too, and I find if it's ready to use I'm more likely to use it. SO, when I bring it home from the store, I break the cloves apart and place them in a small bowl on the counter next to my prep area. All I need do is flatten it to remove the skin and it's ready to dice, mince or slice. If I don't have it ready to go, I tend to skip it and grab the garlic powder.

If you have xylitol in the house, remember that even ingesting a tiny amount can poison you canine companions! I switched to erythritol after I dropped a bag of xylitol and it spread across the kitchen floor when it popped open!
