This movie was my absolute favorite when I was a kid. Watching this brought me back to a simpler time when movies didnt have to make a like of sense to be great
The original Japanese DAM has one of the best opening credits in film. I rank it right up there with Star Wars, Close Encounters, Batman (1989), The Shining and the Japanese Godzilla (1954)
That sums it up pretty well. I like the idea of the character being kind of a cross between Galactus (indescribably ancient planet-killer with god-like power), and Thanos (Sadistic monster with a lust for Death).
Another Fun Fact: The Mothra in this movie is one of the twin caterpillars which were the offspring of the original Mothra. The other caterpillar presumably died. Baragon was supposed to attack Paris, but the costume was damaged, so Gorosaurus was used instead. As for Varan, since this is his "first" appearance in this movie, he didn't join in the final fight and only a puppet was used. Manda didn't fight either.

for the monsters that couldn't appear at 0:59 Mechani-Kong and Moguera are not only robots and couldn't be controlled by Kilaaks, but Moguera was destoryed twice, once by a bridge set with explosives and the other one destroyed by a collapsing cannon , and Mechani-Kong was destroyed from falling from the top of Tokyo Tower (not to mention King Kong Escapes takes place in it's own seperate universe). Frankenstein died at the end of his movie and split into Sanda and Gaira, both of which died in an underwater volcano. For Kamacuras, there were only three mantis' that were mutated by the radioactive rainstorm, all of which died. Two from fighting Godzilla and one that was eaten by Kumonga. Maguma was the only monster pictured who was planned on being featured along with Ebirah but both were replaced by Baragon and Varan due to their suits being worn out.

Would explain how Anguirus, Kumonga and Gorosaurus are there despite Anguirus and Kumonga being dead and Gorosaurus being from a separate universe to the showa Godzilla films.
Actually, I can kind of understand Anguirus and Kumonga being there, they're probably just different members of the same species, but Mothra still makes no sense.
I saw this one at a drive-in. Television does not do the movie justice. The big problem is that half of the monster action is framed by monitor screens like at 4:32. It makes the monsters look absolutely minimal on a home screen. Seeing it on a theater screen is the equivalent of watching a parade in person versus watching a parade on television.

Rodan: "WHO POOPED IN MY CEREAL?????!!!!!"
I never understood why Mothra was captured and put in Monsterland, since she's supposed to be the protector of Infant Island. I'm assuming this might be another Mothra or maybe the Islanders were like "fuck Mothra" and left her there.
Yeah, that part makes no sense to me either. I guess Toho just wanted to put all the monsters they had in the movie and didn't give a damn whether it made sense or not.
18:25 - it's humans in the movie watching the monsters...on monitors. How I wish the writers of G:KotM had watched this video!!
Oh, this was used in the 90s too

Nothings better than this.
Shows about you review varan the unbelievable please
Dude! The mortal kombat joke was actually kinda badass! Love the vids, brandon.
2:11 Baby Godzilla
I always loved the music in this one though. That score has stuck with me all these decades.
Seriously TOHO? Seriously? Why annoy us with giant big IMPACT letters flagging a video review that makes your bloody movies more famous? See, this is why giant monsters like to destroy the city you are in...
0:59 whats the name of the monster in the middle of the bottom row here?
Magma, he appeared in the Toho film 'Gorath 'www.google.co.uk/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjRkvq1qe3YAhVMB8AKHUdJBbQQjRwIBw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.clubtokyo.org%2Flistings%2FitemListingRpt.php%3FcatID%3D1%26subCatID%3D18%26contentID%3D809&psig=AOvVaw2Ou0INtOQ42fB2r1kNrP_Q&ust=1516770506696178

Ebirah, giant condor and giant octopus:are we a joke to you
Why didn't Godzilla just leave his son to be eating by the spider
Yeah why did the spider never ate the minja
Jack Oeser this is how Star Fire would talk like
Because this one is a different one,far from kumonga, this one isn't hostile
Great Time Tunnel reference; while on the subject of Irwin Allen shows, an episode of Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea had a shot of a matte depicting a similar subterranean Alien UFO base.
Japan: Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters is the greastest crossover event of all time
America: Hold my beer
Godzilla is overrated
Destroy all Monsters is one of my favorite Godzilla films, so this is a great treat to see here.
Let's do the Time Warp Again! ♫
"Also it has minesweeper"
The Dubbing in this film is hilariously bad
Ah, 60s effects. I bet Nakajima was glad they kept missing him. Godzilla 1985 was a piece of crap but at least they HIT Godzilla
"I'm pretty sure that's not how Spaceships work"

15:31 My favorite joke in the review
15:47 And my second favorite
Ghidorah's died 4 times (not counting Monster X/Keizer Ghidorah) but this is the only time it took more than 1 monster to do it, so hey, that's impressive.
17:26 I gotta say the whole Fire Dragon thing was a letdown. I love this movie, but yeah, it's flawed by budget and genre constraints. Still, it's in my top 10 Godzilla movies and a damn sight better than Final Wars.
Stormtrooper aim
When I saw for the first time I remembered most of the monsters names but forgot which movies they were in and who Godzilla fought and who helped him
