    Great review! Yes, we're trying to find a way to bring down the price of the plastics. Right now we're only making 10% margin on the 370z plastics. Yeah, I know... Shapeways costs a lot to do their printing! Have you tried our Brainiac home screen launcher app to use gestures to navigate home/back/switcher and volume control instead of the physical buttons? Always looking for feedback so please do feel free to share with us what you like and don't like :)

    • @thecarizon504
      @thecarizon504  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I prefer using my own apps over the workshop twelve one.
      The price is really far out there, and I believe it has actually gone up now that Workshop 12 has pieced it out into four separate parts.

    • @WorkshoptwelveConnect
      @WorkshoptwelveConnect 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@thecarizon504 Fair enough, hopefully we can get our app to a point someday where it will meet your needs :) Our plastics were at a set price point with Shapeways, and then over night Shapeways doubled the cost of printing! We then had to split the model up into 4 pieces to try and bring the price back down as much as we could within their new pricing algorithms because they wanted $800 to print the plastics! It was crazy. We're going to start to bring printing some of the parts of the plastics in-house to try and reduce the cost. But Shapeways is charging us an arm and a leg and they unfortunately actually have the best price around :(

    • @thecarizon504
      @thecarizon504  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@WorkshoptwelveConnect My plastics just came in and I was wondering if I could go with the 2019 Tab A that supports 4G LTE? I'm seeing tons of incorrect product dimensions for the new model, but it would be nice to have it's own sim card rather than relying on tethering from my phone.

      @sanhapie 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No i plan to use the factory one for the time being. But i could change my mind. I end up getting the 2019 version of the Tab A since they only sell the s-pen version of the 2016 model in Thailand (and it is too big for the trey in the brainiac kit). The good thing is the home button now presents electronically so i do not have to saw the plastic out. However, only a few root instructions out there as it is still new (it is a pain as you suggest). The twrp file for 2019 is not on twrp.me yet. So i might try to fit it in first and root later.

Does brainiac offer a module to retain my aftermarket backup camera that is integrated into the Kenwood unit? Basically wanting to retain that analog jacked camera and use it with the tabs display beings I will be not using the double din radio any longer. And lastly, this set up will integrate fine with the factory bose system? Does it simply interface with a module supplied via brainiac to retain that bose system with factory bose amp.

    To use the navigation do you need to have internet on the tablet?

    • @Voltaic314
      @Voltaic314 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think this actually moreso depends on the app you are using on the tablet. For example, in Google Maps you can actually choose to download maps over Wi-Fi so that you can still run google maps offline. But if you run navigation offline then you lose the chance on getting real-time updates such as collisions and speed traps and such.

It’s too much when you can just buy a universal head unit with a 10-13” screen. A tablet isn’t feasible. At least with a dedicated head unit you don’t have to worry about charging or overheating. And you get a beautiful floating display if that’s what you want. This just seems bad in every way compared to an android head unit.
