There might be a batch script you can run to have the tablet off when no power is going to it and have the tablet cut on when there’s power going to it. That way you can remove the battery. That’s a solution for people making this more of a permanent installation instead of taking the tablet out every time. Workshop 12 thank you
do you have a tablet kit for a 2012 370z?
We are just about to start the project for the 370Z workshoptwelve.com/nissan-370z/
I want the purchase link please

At 3:52 you talk about a speaker harness and a power cable. These aren't listed in the materials so I'm wondering how I get those?
I just ordered almost the same amp as you except 50 watt instead of 100.
You will want to pickup an aftermarket stereo wiring harness install kit for your make/model of vehicle. Metra makes a lot of them for different cars.
Workshop 12 okay, but when I search for these they look exactly like the first harness you showed (in the packaging). Just not sure if I'm order the right thing or not.
Really appreciate the quick reply
Workshop 12 I think I found a speaker harness but not sure about the "power harness"
What vehicle do you have? I can find you a link to the proper harness.
Workshop 12 2004 Honda Accord LX Sedan.
Just to be clear. I've already ordered the first harness that you show in the beginning. If the kit you find me includes that already oh well I'll have two 😁.
Thanks so much for taking the time to do this
is there how to make the tablet by calling me to pick up on it
Couldnt it just be left plugged in all the time?
Even from dead to full charge wouldnt kill the car battery
No, it would fry the tablet battery. Learned that the hard way.
Why didn't you use a potentiometer to control the volume and if you do so , would you put it before or after the GROUND NOISE REMOVAL thingy
We typically control the volume from the tablet using two finger gestures on the screen.
could i just use a 12v cigarette lighter to charge my tablet ? and run wires to the stock amp?
You will need a 12v to 5v step down to charge the tablet. What is the stock amp that you're referring to?
@@WorkshoptwelveConnect im not sure. But its a 2000 ls400. I still want all the rear subs to work and have the least amount of wiring. I know i would need a converter for audio but I would like to just have the tablet go straight to the amp and why would i have to step down to 5v? It charges my phone just fine.
@@camerondavis9160 it depends on what you are using to charge your phone and if you want to embed the tablet in the dash or not. If you want a perminent install with hidden wires then I suggest a step down converter run off your accessory power vs a standard car charger. Also, some lighter connections have constant powered even when the car is off. Depending on the OEM amp you may be able to run wires directly to it, but it depends on what you have. I.e most Bose amps need a special kind of audio DAC feed vs aftermarket that just take a simple RCA connection
@@WorkshoptwelveConnect you have been really helpful. I am making a doc it will be removable for the sake of the tablet. And i would only plug it in to charge when needed. Im not sure if the little adapter counts as a step down. But i just need to know what all i need to get audio from the tablet to the factory amp. Because i want to utilise all of the speakers and keep things as oem as possible
@@camerondavis9160 yes, a lighter charger works as a step down. You will have to see what your factory amp takes as an input. If it takes RCA connections then you can just get a 3.5mm headphone jack to RCA cable
Can I still use the control buttons on the steering wheel?
You would use a Joycon EXR to program the steering wheel controls to perform android functions.
will it work in a toyota yaris?
Do you mean wiring a tablet?
@@WorkshoptwelveConnect yes and if there is any changes in the wiring if i use an ipad?
@@kevindavid6226 technically you could wire it into any vehicle. For an iPad it would be a similar process, but with a lightning cable instead of USB
@@WorkshoptwelveConnect thanks for the quick reply what amp can you suggest for me to use? and i have the radio outlet that came from my old 2din head unit, can i use this again so i will not buy
@@kevindavid6226 I'm not sure if your old double din unit will work.. a lot of people find these a good little compact option www.bossaudio.com/auto/ce102/
Use bluetooth accessories
awesome.! where are the links to the parts?
You can find them at the bottom of the page here: workshoptwelve.com/02-05-nissan-350z/
We only support Android tablets as they can be customized for use in a vehicle and have a wide range of accessory options. Some of our customers are using tablet cooling solutions. I don't have specific details on those yet as different people are experimenting with solutions for Arizona summer heat :)
This amount of wires in this ridiculous
Is there anyway you could do a similar video for the iPad mini 4? I’m taking the radio off and replacing everything with the iPad mini for my ford Bronco. Thanks
Generally speaking it should be the same other than it's an apple USB cable instead of the micro USB
It wont work on a hot country. That battery will explode for sure.
We design our MK2 kits so that the tablet is easily removed from the vehicle in the case of extreme conditions ( hot or cold)
Seems way overly complicated you should have a whole kit that swaps the tablet in as plug n play
We do! Check out the MK1.7 Electronics on our website.
workshoptwelve.com/en-ca/products/shop-mk1-7-electronics
@@WorkshoptwelveConnect what is the mk1 companion?, looking on your website and seeing the different options for the mk2 plastics,
The Mk1 companion kit is a usb hub with a wire to charge your tablet. If you wanted to add a usb hub to your Mk2 electronics by kenwood
You talk too much just do what you got to do
Stating the obvious too.
No navigation no steering wheel controls no mic no on the phone Bluetooth no voice command and no rear view camera???
The decision between an Android stereo head unit or a tablet in your dash depends on what you're looking for. Steering wheel controls can be accomplished with a JoyCon EXR, backup camera can be accomplished through a USB to video link, and we are working with a Bluetooth dongle to try and bring A2DP phone support. But it is a tablet, it does what a tablet does :)
Workshop 12 so the plastic face plate won't fit a 350z that comes with the navigation system ? Even if I remove it ?
@@jesse0M the issue with the navigation center waterfall is that there is a little "hood" at the top. If you replace the center waterfall piece with a non-Navigation one everything will fit.
Will this work in a 2008 ford f250?
We do not have a kit for the ford f250 but the wiring would work in your car.
