The second movement is one of the glories of all music. The old Menuhin-Goossens recording is my favorite but this is very fine. What Goossens was to the oboe, Ms. Horsch is becoming on the recorder.

That she was able to hit close to that note on an instrument that has limitations outside of a very specific range... it was an impressive error. I wonder if since then she has learned ways around it? Anyway, I agree with you 100%

En de maten daarna hebben ook een hoge D maar die octaveert ze ongemerkt naar beneden. Er zijn meer passages met een hoge D die ze een octaaf lager speelt. Slim.
That's how you reach the high notes. If it wasn't meant to be uncovered there wouldn't be a hole. You have to change how you blow though, it's not easy to get it sounding good
I'm only a beginner, but not only do you have to uncover the hole for some notes, you also have to PARTIALLY uncover it for other notes. And how much you need to uncover depends on the note.
You play the baroque string instrument. Of course you're right. You enjoyed till now, people of any age, playing Bach with all enthusiastic devotional ability, and from now you should say to them and to yourself, well, play Bach's music if you like, but do not share your trials with us in public places. You'll keep being right, but stay at home or just with friends with your favourite Bach. Would it help us, you think..
Bach wrote for the recorder and transverse flute interchangeably, so this was probably what Bach intended. The wooden baroque flute and recorders sounded fairly similar at that time anyway. Check out the Handel sonatas for flute/recorder. Or other baroque instruments.
Never heard this on a recorder, before, but they do it justice very well,; Lucie's talent along with Sonoko's really bring this to life.
Lucie is such a virtuoso on the recorder. I have watched quite a few videos of her performances, and I am always very impressed.

Great sound engineering. You can hear both the violin and the recorder clearly. The recorder is too often overwhelmed by other instruments.
