I learned how to play recorder (we were calling it blok flute back then) in primary school and in our graduation ceremony I gave a solo concert. I know very well that this is indeed a very ample musical instrument which you can play virtually anything as our teacher has demonstrated it many times. It looks simple but this is really deceptive. Some 4 decades later when I was talking with my friends I mentioned it and they made fun of me. "It's just a recorder you're talking abut for God sake", they said. I wish could have them listened to this young and very talented lady This instrument really reminds me chess. It's so easy to learn how to play yet one can create wonders with it.

if one knows how to play it, it sounds great.
If ever there is an underestimated instrument, the recorder is it. Decades of sprogs making godawful noises have wrecked the fact that until the mid-18th century, the recorder WAS the flute. The instrument has a vast repertoire, from some of the most moving to the most virtuoso. Dolmetsch and his plastic instruments have much to answer for. Listen to the likes of Bruggen, Carl Dolmetsch (wonderful player despite the instruments made under his name), and of course Horsch, and one will see that the instrument is every bit a 'real' one. I'm nowhere near this stature, but I've spent my life trying to prove that the recorder is a REAL musical instrument.
If you think you can't get beautiful music out of the excellent plastic recorders available you are very wrong.
I couldn't agree more. Unfortunately the plastic instrument bought in bulk for schools, and 'played' by pupils with no interest in music whatsoever, has destroyed the recorder's reputation with almost everyone. I was in the office a couple of years ago, and there was a pink 'plastic children's recorder set'. I asked if I could play it, and was agreeably surprised by what I got out of it. A little van Eyck, and the full compass was not just there, but in tune also. I felt sorry for the little instrument, bound for a life of a child's soon forgotten Christmas present.
She is truly gifted! Thank you for this wonderful compilation.

Incredible!! I had 15 years of lessons for playing alto recorder, so I know what I am talking about: this young woman just plays incredibly good! Technical perfection and a fire, that comes close to modern rock music and also very subtle and sensitive interpretations. A pleasure! Thanks for uploading.

You can scratch that part, because that timeless music and her playing is on a higher level. It lightens a fire inside of people that has better qualities than a fire that just forces people to go wild imho.

I once loved rock and metal music, even down to death metal and sludge, but stopped entirely to listen to such genres for personal reasons. Some prog rock bands are still on my list like Gryphon, Saga, Budgie etc. though. Guess that statement doesn't fit in your simple minded world, does it? :^) Now remove yourself from my sight! We don't feel like talking to peasants anymore.

her technical approach and the opposing violins, notice them looking for cues.....just wonderful! for those with no music theory 27:27 one violin is doing allot of improve to compensate for the written mode. notes missing
the liked was from a musician .... this is what they really play for somebody noticing the hard work in the details bowing a violin is really easy. doing it correctly is crazy hard to the point it is never right!

@Vincent Sullerot Well, in Russian these words are synonyms, we have no difference whether a person plays a modern metal flute or a recorder. I also play only recorders, from soprano to tenor, but in Russian there is no word "recorder." The word “recorder” in our country only sounds like a “record” and therefore if you say “I play recorders” it will mean only one “I set many records,” only sporting meaning. :)))

It is rare to play this level of music without memorizing it first, simply because of how much practice and repetition goes into even getting it right. As a musician I had most pieces memorized before I could even play the notes and rhythms correctly, let alone with style. Our bands throughout middle and high school were required to memorize, and it seemed a daunting task when we first found out about it, but really, by the time the performance happened, nobody had any worries at all about forgetting something. It just takes that much practice anyway, to where memorizing happens as a side effect.
