I think I just realized why all of the Persona 2 personas look so sleek: they've been designed to look like Sentai characters. All of the protagonists used to play Phoenix ranger feathermen R, and are still defined by their bond, so it follows.
About Vulcanus's design: In their childhood, Tatsuya and Jun exchanged personal belongings to cement their friendship. Tatsuya gave Jun his watch, and Jun gave Tatsuya his lighter. This is why Vulcanus looks like a lighter and why Chronos has a clock face.

Good video, though one thing I felt you missed was just how the various Persona actually interplay with each-other in accordance with their original myths, especially Tatsuya's and Jun's. You brought up the trade of gifts, but now how they connect to the characters themselves.
Fair, I didn't want to go too in depth with the interconnection between the personas mythos, such as the several familial and romantic relations, but a little more detail was maybe warranted. Thanks for the feedback
Also, about Hades, When Eikichi awakens to Hades or gets Hades upgraded by fighting Shadow Eikichi, Hades' personal pronoun (a thing in Japanese) is "warawa", an archiac feminine pronoun.
Iir Kaneko and Hirohiko Araki usually talked a lot about character design and stuff. I think the mechanical design of the personas and even in some smt demons is inspired from how some of the stands in Jojo are mechanical in design.
You know, I'd love to see a vid on the symbology behind the types of generic shadow enemy in P3 and 4. While some are obvious like the Dice, ones like the Jotun are... less obvious.
Maybe, but at the same time, the MC starts with the Fool Arcana as the tarot cards are numerically a story of a man's journey through life leading to enlightenment. That is mirrored through the MC in the games as well. (Assuming I'm remembering that correctly.)
All main character Personas in 2 also seem to be connected to their astrological signs and the celestial bodies associated with them. Tatsuya is a Leo, which is associated with the sun (fitting the god of light Apollo). Maya is a Cancer, associated with the moon (Artemis is a moon goddess). Lisa is a Taurus, associated with Venus (her ultimate Persona). Eikichi is a Scorpio, associated with Pluto (Roman name of Hades). Jun is an Aquarius, associated with Uranus, father of Saturn (Roman name of Cronos; the titan and the god of time are often conflated); this additionally fits Jun's issues with his own father. EP is where the explanations get a little more in depth. Katsuya is a Capricorn, which is associated with Saturn. His Personas (Helios and Hyperion) are both titans rather than gods, but they chose to fight alongside the gods and betray the titans (including Cronos) during the great war. Ulala is a Sagittarius, associated with Jupiter. Zeus violated Callisto and attempted to violate Astrea. Baofu's is a bit more complicated. He's a Gemini, associated with Mercury. Odysseus was the great-grandson of Hermes, and in the Greek tragedy Prometheus Bound, Hermes is the one to warn Prometheus about Zeus' impending anger from Prometheus' prophecy that a child of Zeus will one day overthrow him, and attempts to threaten Prometheus into complying.

Apollo's design is my favourite Persona design. The sleek and suave look just does it for me.

I really need to play Eternal Punishment. I love the idea of a persona game (or any jrpg) with an adult cast. Less of that teen insecurity.
You'll get a bunch of adult resentment though, and oof, some of those really hurts for me ac they hit home really fast.
Apollo look to have the "Rising Sun Flag" of Japan on his body, Which is a nice touch given his name.

persona 2 innocent sin is bad but enternal punishment was so good it can make up for innocent sin being bad
yeah gameplay wise, Eternal Punishment is a huge upgrade, seems to be a trend with megaten sequel games
A big reason would probably be the PSP version of IS being an absolute garbage "enhanced" rerelease.
