      They're not dumb or cheap, typically their stuff is a rebrand of a higher quality OEM manufacturer - PSU's originally from Seasonic, they've had Samsung ram die before, that kinda thing. You'd be surprised how few OEM manufacturers there really are and how many brands, even big ones, just have whole ass product lines that are just them slapping their name on it with a sticker and paying the original company to use their product.

    • @iaial0
      @iaial0 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@BigBoyXP4014 Yeah that's true for many industries, to keep costs low it's often less expensive to have someone expert make it and then put your name on that. For PC industry, ie, there are Seasonic, Superflower and a few others that make PSUs, Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron that make RAM dies, Asetek makes AIOs and Cooler Master makes Air coolers (they also make Wraith coolers for AMD)

Dude, I hate to be the one to break it to you, but when someone tells you what they like about something, it's always subjective, that's basically the definition of the word. Nothing that comes after the words "I like" should ever be wrong, or even slightly or partially true, because it's an opinion, and people have the right like whatever they want. I bet your a blast at parties man...

    The standard 3 pin RGB connector is a huge selling point to me personally.
    The USB and software integration from Corsair and Asus (Asetek) comes with extra garbage software.
    It is the same with the stupid graphics card RGB controlls. I hope one manufacturer will just go ahead and give us the option to just use a stupid 3 pin cable to the motherboard.
    The first one to do it will sell me my next GPU^^

  • @ManWithBeard1990
    @ManWithBeard1990 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Jay, I suggest you have another look at a static pressure optimized fan. Because with very, very few exceptions (i don't know of any) there is never any overlap between the blades. The reason for that is that the two halves of the injection mold that makes these needs to be able to open and close properly. If you want overlapping pieces you need slides that come in from the side of the mold cavity to make that part, which makes it much more expensive. So as a designer you really want to avoid that. It's probably possible to make a better fan if you ignore that limitation but nobody does.

    That wobbly center-badge on the Fan of the GPU would drive me nuts.
    My old Scythe-Cooler had that same issue. I just removed the sticker.

    When a memory company says that they can be "even cooler" than already established levels of cool but you didn't realize they gon be bringing that cool goodness to your cpu 😎

    I bought an MSI Core Liquid AIO. It is also a bit different with the pump integrated into the radiator. I haven't seen any "mainstream" TH-cam channels cover it.

    Bought G.SKILL RAM in 2017 (RIP Me, prices were insane) in Thailand. One stick died in 2020 in Australia (RIP RAM). I sent it to Taiwan under lifetime RMA (RIP Shipping times), replaced after testing confirmed dead stick. Keep e-receipts. Much recommend.

      Water cooling usually poops. I still got air coolers that are 10 years old and still going strong. I can barely get water cooling to last for 2 years.

      Same! My corsair h80i apparently filled up with air over time and all of the sudden my cpu started shutting off bc thermal protection... oops... Luckily there were 3 months left on my corsair 5 year warranty☺️

    I just got my 1st AIO ever. Very impressed with how cool the Artic Freezer II 280 (top-mounted) keeps my 5900x cool under load, but the only downside is its very thick and almost didn't fit in my case.

    Companies should make an air cooler/aio combo. Like a standard aio but it has a noctua heatsink with heatpipes coming from the cold plate on the pump.

    I've tried several AiO coolers since about 2014. The best of them was the Corsair Hydro H110i GT, which was an OEM from CoolIT & used the better SP140L fans (over the ML140's). The GTX variant was an OEM by Asetek. The GT had problems in the initial batch, but that was fixed and worked well after. I've had one running on an Intel based PC since Jan. 2016., though I replaced the fans with Noctua NF-A14 iPPC-3000 fans. This G-Skill cooler looks pretty good, especially for a first try. 😊

    Actually seems like a solid product. I am waiting for the Phanteks glacier series AIO to become available, as right now that's what I want to throw in my case. It also helps that I now have a Phanteks case. It's nice that it'll match.
