He also objected to child porn holder's getting the mandatory 5 tear prison sentence...ge told Hawley in Congress to bring a bill, Hawley brings the bill and durbin objected to it...REDICLOUS THAT HE'S OBJECTED TO STOPPING 45 MILLION PICTURES ON THE INTERNET IF SERIOUS HORRIFIC ACTS FILMED AND PICTURES DISPLAYED...SICKENING THAT HE OBJECTED TO A SAFTY PROCESS FOR MINORS....

Yet AGAIN Durbin missed the point. The worst part of carjacking is the CRIMINAL POINTING HIS GUN IN YOUR FACE, READY TO KILL ! The car is secondary.

both sides are so out of touch...fed gov trying to 'fix' anything almost always screws it up worse. I listen to both sides on a lot of issues and 99.9991% of the time, they never address the root of all current issues. they only treat symptoms or commit insanity (doing same expecting diff outcome).

I do not advocate theft nor do I advocate violence. Perhaps allowing the second amendment to do what it's intended would be the moral thing.
In other words, F around, and find out.
    That's the best deterant.
Unfortunately these car jackings happen in cities with the most strict gun laws which deters good men and women from defending themselves.
    A righteous man once said.
Those who are willing to sacrifice freedom and liberty for a little bit of security, deserve neither.
Laws are not the answer gentlemen.
    Rights are..

You can't charge someone for stealing their own car and you can't charge someone for crimes they didn't commit and we have a big problem when you are extorting me and torturing me and take it to the bank that I got lukemea cancer and congestive heart disease and several other things that you people are all responsible for and I want my money and my rights and everything I am owed and I am not kidding about it! Your contract is over and I want everything I am owed or the truth will come out publicly

  • @whitefreeman5798
    @whitefreeman5798 ปีที่แล้ว +1

when they bother to actually prosecute they normally let them plea to lesser charges and give them a tap on the hand then let them out early for so called good conduct.. how about give them a real sentence .. prosecute criminals for a change.. especially violent criminals.. and give them bad conduct time to discourage bad behavior

  • @rachaelcourtnell7275

try explaining WHY you would reduce sentences for violent crimes, that's what I want to know. prison guards take on the job that is their job, reducing time for prisoners putting public in danger.

Durbin please retire your not fit for senator spokesman, always bring up the name Trump. Try driving down a high car jacking zone and feel the fear dude., you might change your tone then, but that won't happen when you have your own security tirade watching over you all in the expense off the publics paid taxes.

I’m sorry but why should a prison be safe?? I think the more that prisoners have for rights the more they will reoffend because “Doing time is easy”. It’s not supposed to be easy it’s prison!!! Federal prison is the easiest time to serve from what I have heard.

  • @ben4032

car jacking sentencing is 40 years? 24 years still seems like a long time. assuming i am being given good inforamtion here… i mean none of the senators read the full bills so good chance im not, but to put this into context for all you smooth brains - jordan belfort stole millions of dollars and went to prison for under 5 years. for that crime, *individually*, that seems excessive.

  • @MrGieschen

How about instead of time reduced for good behavior, increased time for bad behavior? If you want to change incarceration times, change the sentences, but they committed the crime and should pay a *fair* sentence in full. If you want to behave badly in addition you should be punished in addition.

My only thought about being able to find cars that have been "jacked" is whether or not they can be remotely shut down. This automatically gives government officials, or could, the ability to shut a vehicle owners car down if their "carbon footprint" is too high, or if they have spent their money on "unapproved" expenditures, as defined by an unelected bureaucrat who wants to exercise his/her newly found power. We have far too many agencies doing that now.

I like what dick Durbin was saying. I think the same program should apply. The only thing I have an issue with is getting car mandators to give that data to law enforcement. Why would they do it every time without a warrant when states such as California has no bail for that same crime if its nonviolent. I would think that would make more cost for helplines/tracking software on the car mandators end. Nothing is easy or just don't steal cars?

Anyone who has done time would understand how nice and well the early out programs actually do work. For some there is no way to stop them no matter how long they are in and those are the ones who seldom can handle the programs anyway. Sure is easy for those who have never been locked down to talk the talk!!
