Wow, such a great educational video! Thanks for taking the time to post this. As a new C7 Stingray owner this video made me definitely get headers along with a cam. Thanks again! :)
VERY interested to see what mine picks up! I have them ordered and hope to make larger hp gain with my supercharger pully being changed as well. My c7 grand sport already has a stage one cam, Lt4 supercharger, Lt4 fuel injectors, Lt4 fuel pump, AFE Momentum cold air intake, upgraded Edelbrock cooling system, an active fuel management delete kit, and forged racing pistons. I'm now going in for the Stainless Works long tube headers, high flow cat with x-pipe, and putting a smaller 2.3 pully on the supercharger.
This the video I needed. I have a 6th gen Camaro SS with an LT1. I’ve been trying to plan out upgrades. Started with cat back exhaust. Next I want intake and headers. Then later I’ll get the camshaft I want. My hesitation was wondering if I needed heads to go along with the camshaft. But this lets me know it’s ok to go 1 small step at a time. Great video.
@@josephraines4338 yes definitely, make sure whoever is installing it is reputable. With an after market cam, its recommended you upgrade the entire valve train. I bought a 07 C6 with an aftermarket cam, drove it for 2 weeks, lifters failed (could hear a tick in the engine)... When upgrading my heads cam the mechanic found score marks/dents on the camshaft, had to get a new block entirely. Now im going with a forged 408 with forged internals. 11k down the rabbit hole for me LOL
So I've got a full heads cam,Intake manifold. Everything you can do without E85. do recommend one heat range cooler than stock on the spark plugs? Also what you set gap to? Thanks and love your vids guys
This is more of a question of comfortable idle speed than a cam stage. We have a cam spec that is good to operate and idle well within the ranges of the stock TC, we include it in our "Stage 4 Auto C7" Package. Anything above that, we recommend TCs.
Hey Theo, it varies a bit depending on year and vehicle trim. I encourage you to reach out to a Performance Consultant, we'd be glad to chat! nationalspeedinc.com/contact/
great vid.i have an 18 gr.sport..ive had a custom exhaust with the mufflers deleted + the secondary cat..question is putting long tube headers on alone without changing the camshaft....is it worth it now??? + oh n plus i put an afe cold air intake on it.
Yes, absolutely! Check out our Stage 2 Performance Package for C7 Grand Sport here: nationalspeedinc.com/packages/gm/corvette/2014-2019-c7/c7-grand-sport/

One of the AFM (Active Fuel Management) lifters collapsed, which requires an invasive repair. The camshaft had some scoring on the lobe as a result, so he took the opportunity to upgrade, since the scope-of-work isn't much different from simply repairing.

He is leaving so much on the table without an intake manifold.. Why not just spend $250 bucks on an LT2 and it would be making another 25-35hp, I went with the LT2 at first.. Then got off my cheap ass wallet, bit the bullet got the one everyone uses and picked up 24hp over the LT2 with the msd atomic. Thats also going from a 95mm zl1 TB to a NW 102mm TB.. It ended up at 547whp on 93 & 565whp on E35..
Short and to the point, clearly established objective and not loud bs music.
Thumbs up!
The fact that this video isn't 10 minutes long deserves a sub in itself. Great video!
Short, sweet and to the point. I had AFM lifter failure, which is to be common. Thanks for the video!!

Did you ever get the cams and headers on your c7?
@ernestoalva78 headers but no cam. Cam involves a new torque converter with an auto so it's a $5,000 job just for a cam (and torque converter).
Thank you nicely done, I knew but now I know 💪💯🔥

Thanks! We enjoy making these types of videos.
How much for this setup
Does the car passes emissions with long tube headers n high flow cats
Man the c7 corvette grand sport is my dream car!! I need some money 😂
Great videos guys keep them up
I love the sound! What did you change on the exhaust and what brand? Thanks again!
Loved the information. Just bought 2015 Z51 and looking to install Cam/Headers/and turbo charger. Any recommendations?
Best compassion wouldve been stock manifolds with no cats, active mufflers...
Then headers with no cats and active mufflers
Can you list cam and headers used on this build to get for mine :P
Can y’all do long tube headers on a’13 Escalade with a cam and supercharger?
I bet a lightweight C/F driveshaft would help a bunch as well.
Will it pass smog? I'm looking into buying a C7 7 speed.
What type of long term issues do you run into after installing an aftermarket camshaft?
None
Lifter failure
@@tweakhawaii362 need to upgrade those too?

do I need to change the gaskets and spark plugs when installing headers or would I be fine just installing them?
The undercarriage is a work of engineering art 👏🏽

Are long tube headers street legal?
How much would all this cost with installation?
A bunch
