10 Settings to change on your new Galaxy S10

- Got your new Galaxy S10 or S10+? Set these 10 settings immediately to make the most out of your Galaxy S10.
Setting 1: Reduce animation to speed up your Galaxy S10
Setting 2: Fit more on a single Screen on the S10
By increasing the homscreen grid size, you can reduce the size of the icons and have more icons fit in a single screen. This makes your phone’s screen look even bigger. Also, if you reduce the font size and reduce the screen zoom - you can truly fit in a lot of content on one single screen without compromising on readability.
Setting 3: Call pop up
Get notified of incoming calls without getting disrupted with what you’re doing on your phone. You can engage in the call, disconnect it, add a reminder for it or reject with a pre-determined message. All without going away from the app that you are already on.
Setting 4: Remap Bixby button as a new shortcut key
Samsung now allows you to remap the bixby button to launch an app of your choice with just a single tap. A double tap would then open the Bixby home for you.
Setting 5: Navigation Gestures
go back, to the homescreen and access recent apps using sliding motion from the bottom edge of the screen,. it's a lot faster, smoother and easier to access.
Setting 6: Access notifications of individual apps with long press
Setting 7: Quick open notification panel
A simple swipe down on the homescreen will give you access to all your notifications.
Setting 8: Edge Lighting
Set up a custom edge lighting color for each app of your choice.
Setting 9: Schedule night mode to turn on automatically
The dark theme on your Galaxy S10 with the Samsung One UI can automatically be enabled depending on the time of the day. Just have to go ahead and schedule that within settings.
Setting 10: Enable Video Enhancer setting
When you launch apps like Netflix or youtube or play any video on your phone, the Galaxy S10 would automatically enhance the viewing experience to deliver the best video playback possible on the S10’s display. All of this happens automatically as you turn on these apps. Turn this setting under advanced features in your settings menu.

I subbed and subscribed. Great tutorial. I watched it right through first, now I will go through it, pausing to set things here and there. I bought an S10. I was tempted to go for the S10+ but it was a bit too expensive for me. I'm upgrading from a Galaxy Note 3, so I think I will see a huge difference. I have downloaded the "user instructions", but there is nothing like a clever TH-camr tutorial to save you a whole lot of grief.

I can't get my s10 to show dual time zones for when I travel. I want my home time to show, as well as current time. I've clicked the dual time zones, but it just shows the one. Can you do a tutorial on that? Thanx!

If I remember correctly the Video Enhancer tends to max the brightness out on the phone when accessing apps like TH-cam, etc. It’s rather bothersome so I disabled it on my previous Samsung phones. Otherwise I like all the other recommendations. Good work!

2 questions..
1. How can I bring back water mark on photos like other mobile does "Shot on ..."
2. The view in gallery by default was organised rows and columns however for some reason it changed to folders style which shows folders and right side shows photos alone, I am unable to get back all photos in same page instead of folder view.

Question is how did you get WhatsApp to work with Edge lighting? You didn't seem to have pop up turned on?
IMO using developer options to change animation duration scale to 0.5x is a lot nicer as it feels way more fast and smooth without feeling choppy and removing animations like reduce animations does.
I always do that 0.5x and my phones always are fast🙃

Thank you, this is my first samsung galaxy phone coming from motorola force line. Question though, while riding my bike i noticed my brightness wasnt as high as my old phone even maxed out. Any way to help in direct sun? Mainly only worried while in navigation modes.
The s10 is one of the brightest phones in the industry. There's no way this should be an issue. Is your brightness set to adaptive? Rarely, but possibly, adaptive gets stuck. Just give it a restart else manually increase the brightness all the way up.
I turned off that animation and my phone has discovered the speed of light lol thanks Brother! 😄

Recently (I think after the update) my phone's pop icons have changed colors when im in lock-screen mode. Is there any way to change or set the colors?
for instance: when i get a whatsapp msg, the notifcation that would pop up was green. now its gone black,. FB msgs pop up red.. any way to set what color i want?

You forgot 3 important options. 1) Turn your screen display to Vivid coloring. 2) turn screen resolution to the highest (3040x1440). 3) turn your cameras to the highest resolution.
Any other screen resolution option for me makes lines and other stuff on home screen kinda blurry. Highest resolution makes everything crisp looking. You can watch how your TIME and other things look on your status bar as you switch between resolutions

There isn't an easy way to convert large file pics and videos to smaller sizes outside of the native email app giving the option to resize photos. Can be a pain at times.

The S10 snapdragon 855 varient is doing great with Battery back ups.
My usage is Normal still 9-10 hrs battery backup,fast charge 2.0 on 67000 priced phone is annoying.!
Whats a use of phone with great features having less battery back up which limits u from using them!!

I have a s10+ but my edge lighting does work but only the basic ones. Fireworks or bubble, eclipse those ones don't work they look like the basic one could you help?

Am always a fan of navigation buttons instead of swipe gestures. Double tap on your all app button it will cycle between your 2 recent apps, on my s7 long press will take me to split screen (unfortunately it's not happening with my s10+), long press the home button will take u to Google assistant or whatever if you reconfigure. But, when changing then to swipe we loose all double tap and long press options available from these navigation keys.
Quick question: are you using a exynos or a snapdragon? And which do you preferred ? Your answer will helpful
I'm using the exynos as that's what's available in India. Snapdragon is supposed to be better

Screenshots are blurry? That's weird. Just try to install Firefox screenshotgo app and try again. We can test whether there's an issue with the system screenshot or any screenshot.

It only shows up when the phone screen is on. Its a bummer that it doesn't work when its off. Also make sure you enable it to show on all apps and not just the main messenger apps.

Do you know how to disable the screen while on a call. I've searched and lots of people are having the issue. For example I'm on a call, my ear or face hits the screen and the phone sends DTMF tones, of press's the mute button so the person on the other end does not hear me till I then turn mute off.
4:15 Is it possible that Edge Screen Lighting isn't around anymore? (It, TOO, has been moved; now under Notifications...but I'm not seeing any choice of different lights for different apps.) Anyone?
