My S10+ has been an excellent (dual sim model) phone. These points made here are very good. Some of them I could not find in my Android version, but most were easily found and adjusted. Thank you very much.
Also don't forget to turn up the resolution after getting your new phone. Samsung defaults at 1080p when the screen is actually a 3K to save battery. Looks allot better. 👌
Yeah and do not worry about the increase in battery drain. I found it to only give me about 15 min more screen on time with the lower (default) setting.
It's a really great phone I did the same damn thing and I'm loving it, my pixel 3xl and iphone xs max before this got dumped for this phone.. battery is really good at 60 perfect with 3 hours and 45mins of SOT

Update review: since I'm running the phone, I've learned that it has a more secure yet finicky fingerprint system. However, check this idea out: use facial-recognition instead, it has an option to brighten the screen temporarily to see your face even in the dark, and you can use a light double tap on the screen to wake it up, so I double tap on the screen and a millisecond later the facial recognition unlocks the phone for me. Beautiful. 100% reliable.

Tony. These keyboard shortcuts should make you happy then. if you hold down SHIFT and then hit the "greater than" or "less than" symbols, you will be able to speed up or slow down the speed of the video. I use it CONSTANTLY for certain videos where the speaker/narrator is talking too slowly for me. I also slow things down often as well - particularly for learning guitar stuff or watching NFL highlights etc. Also, if you click your mouse just under the video timeline, you can then skip forward or reverse 5 seconds with the left arrow key and right arrow key. I use those even more often. I hope that is new info to you because I was pumped when I found the speed control keyboard shortcut especially.

Realizing I am a baby boomer and I am one of those people who listen and compute your information slower than your age group does. Viola....freezing my screen and rewinding WORKED for me. :)
I love how you said 'we want Samsung phones. We don't want natural. We want vivid! Dead right we do! I remember when Apple phones 1st came out, they operated in literally Sepia mode.
As always, you did a great job! I’ve watched a couple of videos about the first things you should do on the S10 and yours is by far the best! Thank you!
If you go to Developer Options, you can change the (window, transition & animator scale) from 1.0 to 0.5, and it'll make your phone more responsive. Developer Options is activated by going to Settings - About Phone - Sotware Information - and then press the Build Number until it says Developer Options is activated.
Also keep in mind that some apps do utilize those animations. So sometimes your app will start to glitch out due to it. Used to do this with my phone until I realized these problems.
dude the fingerprint is ultrasonic and works off sound waves that bounce off each finger pattern , most screen protectors out there seem to be blocking the sound waves getting through to the finger , any glass style protector needs to be certified by samsung , so by turning the touch sensitivity up wont make a difference. also most end users will not be setting up there phones like you have in this video either.
Great video. One of my favorite things about your video's is not only carefully and detailing on a application or may it be a feature you give real life reason's why it comes ( or could come ) in handy. That's actually a huge assistance to many I'm sure. Right now I'm using an S10+ and when you got to 6:07 I almost hit the floor when you mentioned the "accidental touch feature " and to activate it. That friend has been my 1 major issue especially watching TH-cam videos and rotating to landscape mode it accidentally taps another video. So if ANYTHING I get out of this video, huge thank you for this video and all of your other's. TH-cam once again ( And I have absolutely no idea why.) You're channel isn't the only TH-cam channel that I'm having this issue with. Always some 404 blah error. Any ways, thanks again and can't wait to see your next video's.
Really good tips. It usually takes me many days to sort out the settings on a new phone, and months later I'm still messing around with them. Glad I found this channel as it'll save me many hours of time in the future. Thx.
I got mine yesterday and just dropped it while out walking and watched it bounce down the road a few rotations. I thought the $50 clear case was too much but it saved my phone.
I loved the trick you showed with the note 8 to swipe down on the finger scanner to bring down the top menu. Anything like that on the s10? It was SO convenient!
Vivid is way oversaturated for normal use for me. It looks like a poorly calibrated monitor or TV. It works for when it's really bright outside, but it already auto adjusts to vivid mode when needed, if you leave it on natural.
Some good tips here. I would like to point out a problem with one of the tips. I use my phone as a alarm, and I had the auto restart turned on. I missed two appointments because my alarm didn't go off. Checking the alarm; I found that it was turned off both times. AT&T tech support had me do the lame restart, and set back to factory settings things to only have it happen again. Then I called Samsung support twice, and the second woman who helped discovered that it was the auto restart feature turning off my alarm for some reason. She created a ticket for the developers to look into this and now I just reboot the phone on my own until they get this fixed.
