My GF and I both have an iPhone X and we are upgrading this weekend to s10+ as well as Galaxy watches. Can’t wait. iPhones have felt the same forever.

16:9 crops the image, it isn't a larger image. If you take a 4:3 image you get more in the frame, 16:9 cuts off the top and bottom of images.
@iRay IRidium no, the camera shots in 4:3, If you set up 16:9 it crops in the image to make it look like 16:9, but you are not getting more image, you just cropping the top and bottom
That's like saying wide screen cinamascope shows less than 4:3. Just not true. The black bars aren't cutting anything off, they are allowing a wider frame of view image to be shown on a disproportionate screen.
@@fred0447 its not the same, the sensor of the s10 is a 4:3 ratio, so all it can take are 4:3 ratio photos, for 16:9 the sensor can't physically stretch to let more information, it has to crop the image from top and bottom to make it look like 16:9, which is just a zoomed in image of 4:3.
If the thing above didn't make any sense, try taking a photo at 4:3 and 16:9 from the same position, you will see 16:9 is just a zoomed in image of the 4:3. ( also applicable for s7 edge and s8+, as i have used them, and pretty sure it was also the case in s9)

Dude... 4:3 maximises the resolution... Crop it to 16:9 after if you want. That was very misleading to people who have no idea about resolution/photography.
So I followed your advice and you are correct. I can tell by eye and in details it has a higher res. How can I make it 16:9 after I take the photo though? I can't figure out how

@@mjay417 use the built in photo editor press the little pencil option at the bottom and then crop it

@@marcp8953 some people do. For some people it's about aesthetics. For others is about functionality. Your a functionality type. Others might prefer the beautiful animations and smooth feel. Luckily Samsung can provide both this time around.

All of these were good. Many of them were actually turned on for me already by default in s10 lite, but those that werent i put on. Really good stuff.
4:3 has more pixels, 16:9 is literally just zoomed in 4:3 so youre missing out on a bit

Ok I have a question...When I had an iphone, when my battery went dead, I can place it on the charger and my phone turned on automatically. To my knowledge, my galaxy10 doesn't do that . Its a must have feature for me. Please tell me The 10 have this perk in settings somewhere.

Why no video reviewing screen protectors and ones that don’t mess with the fingerprint reader? I like that it’s built in but I also like being able to replace the cracked screen protector myself.

You might know this but recently I change a few settings from my music (pulser app). Every time I play music after the screen goes to sleep my music shuts off and that's really annoying when I'm trying to work out or drive.
me, too. What's even more aggravating is when I'm on a phone call and the screen timeout comes on. That often makes the listener not able to hear me as well. There is NO Screen Stay on this phone. I'll have to add an app for that. Maybe you can too, for the music to stay on.
Great video, I'm missing the screen resolution option can anybody tell me how to get it? There is another video on TH-cam that shows the settings and that option is missing but you have it here. I'm not able to change my resolution. Help if you can.

Has to be turned on, just locked.
I keep it at 4:3 as 16:9 just crops the image and if i want i wide image i would rather just crop it myself.
It's funny how many people do not realise that it just crops the picture and you end up using only a portion of your camera sensor.
Same here, if you have used a standard camera for long time you are use to the 4:3 and easy to work with them in LR later on..😁
THIS. video got started off on the wrong foot with this one.. you definitely should mention that changing to 16:9 just crops the image (unless you didn't know that). most people would not prefer to change if they knew

You might add that if people don't have a navigational button it can be found under Settings, then Display under Edge Screen

Ive noticed that whenever someone else sends me some form of media (like a photo or video) its blurry even though the original was not. Is there any way i could fix that?

No sadly it because the messaging apps aren't optimized since there are hundreds of phones that use Android but if you download doodle messaging app you can send HD video but after like 10 seconds they will be come blury i know I'm late i had a s10 5g then broke and got a new one and forgot how to change my things on it

4:3 picture size is for people who upload to social media a lot Facebook and Instagram use that format.
Or 99% people who use DSLR camera including professional photographers.

I would use Full Screen Gestures if there was some equivalent gesture to double-tapping the Recents button to toggle between two apps, but I have not found one. [Edit: Thanks to Steven P., I have found a solution! See below.] Also, I do not have the Double Tap To Wake Up option on Pie for my Note9. Yes, there is a Tap To Show option for AoD, but that does not wake up the phone. Nice video, Jimmy.
Pretty sure when you have hints showing you're supposed to be able to swipe right on the home part and itll take you to the recent app. Though this doesn't work for me it seems to work for some people, hopefully there will be a software update fixing it for everyone.
@@KingPat_Rick Thank you! I just tried this and it works now. Swipe up on the Recents hint and it displays the list of open apps. Swipe up on the Recents hint a second time and it opens the most previous app. So, you can now swipe up twice on the Recents hint to toggle between two apps, just like double tapping on the Recents button. (I could not get this to work during the beta.)
@@ChodaBoyUSA just wanted to point out that if you have one hand operation installed from good lock you can also double swipe if you set up the recent on say the right side of your screen, that way everything is all on one side of your phone.

The notification/whatsapp message at lock screen so small to me...how to change that?????
It you are getting that small notification banner at the top of your lock screen, that means you have Edge Lighting Enabled. So when you get a notification, the edges of the screen light up and you get that small notification. If you want the older style, large notification to come up, you will have to turn off edge lighting in your settings.

@@abdkhall6422 Does it happen on all notifications, like a text messages? If so, try this: Settings/Lock Screen/Notifications. Click on Notifications and you will see a preview of how they will look. Then, make sure view style is set to detailed or brief and hide content is off.
