Reminds me of repainting my sr50 a few years back. I went through exactly the same process with Halfords high build rattle cans, white paint and a clear coat over the top. People are amazed when I tell them it’s a rattle job and it still looks fresh to this day. The more you put into the prep, the more you get out at the finish
Great work, and most people need to see the real world rattle can back garden jobs, full resprays are not for the majority and skills need to be retaught to the younger generations. Thanks for continuing with the project and taking the time out of a busy life to juggle content and editing👍
Agree, many really don’t see the struggles of DIY painting at home 😅 it will be something the dies out sadly as you mention for the next generation Glad you enjoyed the video 😎
A good tip with degreaser: soak a wipe in it, leave it to soak on the area for 5, much easier to remove the stuff. Also be careful with caramel wheel on plastics, you can burn them. So good to see this back
The bike is looking amazing. Great job from image works. If I tried to do the decals my company would be called bubble works. Going around with a pin popping the air out. 😂😂😂😂. Looking forward to the next video.👍
Thanks Ian 😎👍 I did “ok” doing the stickers on the RSV but seeing image works do this one was just another level 🤯 Good chatting with you Friday, sorry for the mess I made in the garden - not eating and mixing beer with bubbles was a rookie move 😅 have to catch up for that cuppa!
wow amazing video the tranformation is incredible you james and the team both made something stunning think the matt paint goes brill with the stickers and i would go black bolts
I think you have done a good job! I have a similar work ethic with do it yourself at home. What I noticed was that your first layer was a thick coat, try to do the first layers really thin. Wait a few minutes and then apply another coat. When you are doing the final layer make sure to make long passes, that way the paint looks the best from a rattle can.
Really enjoying this series. Top work 👏 and great variety you have between the big and small bikes. Rs looks brilliant now hope the rest of build goes well. Doing an old ns125r project myself
Yea she walked out and I shouted “filming” so she moon walked back haha! Thankfully that has been my work shop hair dry for many years 😅👍 Thanks and yes should invest in a mask
He could have got the rear pod with side sections complete unit no joins 115 quid, it's deffo a 20ft bike. When he spills any fuel on the tank that paint is gone guess he's never used clear Matt.
No finer than 600 for sanding the primer - subsiquent coats need a mechanical & chemical key. The tigerseal will most likey crack too due to flex. Looks neat - graphics are mega.
hello the decoration kit will be marketed by the image work because I have been looking for this decoration for several years and I can't find anything. that would be great thank you and well done 👍
Its certainly best to message them, they will now have a lot of the stickers on file but some parts like the orange on the tail unit were completed free hand. Sure they will be more than happy to help 👍
Really great looking bike but can i ask why out of all the fantastic rs125 race liveries that were around from early 90,s upto when 125cc changed to moto3 you decided to choose one that never existed to my knowledge? I mean i get its a personal.choice thing but having dreamt of these bikes growing up and watching motogp through the years i would suggest its almost sacrilage to not do a max biaggi chesterfield rep 😂 .
I had a picture of a Harada 500cc race bike on the wall - loved it! So had to build one.. just can’t afford a 500cc build 😅 They do a factory RS125 Harada colour scheme but it’s very dulled down compared to the race scheme
Nice work with the rattle cans and image works are the go to guys for aprilia decal kits 👍👍👍
Thanks mate 😎👍

Exactly that, it’s all in the preparation 😎

Yes! The one I've been waiting for. I need to sit down later and watch this in all its glory 👍
That is looking incredible! I will be keeping image works in mind for future builds
Thanks mate 😎👍
Yes do, life savers for restorations projects like ours👌
The stickers look fantastic quality. And really make all the hard prep work worth it. 👌
Thanks Paul 😎👍

It was only a little 10.v drill which was relatively low speed, thankfully no melted tank cover 😅
G'day James, this Aprillia will be sick mate, looking special. Great mate.
Thanks mate 😎👍

Thanks Mike 😎
She will be going gloss once the orange is down on the belly pan 😅
What a build ! You should give them a gloss clear coat after to protect the stickers. keep up the good work
Thanks mate 👍😎 yes will all be clear coated once the orange is completed
@@stoneautomotive Hope your 1k rattle can paint doesn't start to boil under the 2k clear coat.

This is the problem with being self taught 😅
Will keep that in mind though 👍
Looking good top lad @ the image works 🎉
Thanks 😎👍
Wow, wicked job, looks great, well done. 👍👏👏🏍️👏👏👍

Doing an old ns125r project myself
Glad your enjoying the build 😎
Hopefully many more projects to come, just not enough hours in the day 😅
Cracking job 👏🏻, I was chuckling as your missus come looking for her hair dryer😂. Your bodywork skills are top drawer, but please get a mask 😉👍🏻🇮🇪
Yea she walked out and I shouted “filming” so she moon walked back haha! Thankfully that has been my work shop hair dry for many years 😅👍

Looks amazing mate, awesome work! Defo silver bolts! Like original.

Black bolts, in my opinion 👍
That’s the way I’m swaying the more I look at it too 👍
Brilliant as always 👌🏻👌🏻🇬🇧
Thank you 😎👌
One other thing to do, seal the stickers in with clear coat.
Yep will be once the orange paint is down 👍😎
@ and I’m sure you already know from the response to this video, but the bike looks absolutely incredible. Keep up the stellar work work 😎
Impressed man.... Impressed
Thanks 😎👍
That’s looking good
Thanks mate 😎
Ah right so you clear coating over the stickers etc then should look wkd 😎👌
Looking good.
But Project Hoonigrom?
Big update on that in next weeks video 😬
@@stoneautomotive , take it we weren't meant to note that!
Put down the guide coat then ignored the lows spots on the join, my OCD is kicking in 🤣

I struggle with staying motivated for paint work.. this is why I don’t work in a paint shop 😅
Ps bike will be getting clear coated

Beau travail, dommage, il manque la fin de la pose des stickers ...
Some stickers couldn’t be used due to the size/ space sadly
