Man that bike is impressive! And hopefully this is just the beginning, if people buy them and hop them up there will be mappings and pipes to get maybe a better curve or even more peak power... I really really wish the best to the Panthera people... Man wow!
You guys did it right. Weve dynoed a good amount of dirtbikes, and you really do need to use a street tire on a dirtbike. You wouldn't think a knobby tire would lack grip, but they actually do spin on the dyno. Even when not obviously spinning, if you film the rear tire & watch it in slow motion, you can actually see how the knobby tire kind of jumps from tread to tread, inefficiently transferring power to the dyno. If you use a knobby tire, you end up with roughly a 5-15% loss of power, mainly on 2 strokes & 350cc+ dirt bikes & adventure bikes. We learned this when a couple 500 2 strokes & husky 701 enduros were putting out low hp numbers. We followed up with a 701 supermoto & were baffled by the difference power figures, which led to filming the rear tire. The more powerful the bike, the more it needs a street tire.
Impressive! Keep the vids coming of the Black Panther! The runs sounded like the powervalve needed tuning or perhaps fueling/ignition could be improved. The stark just sounds scary on a dyno 😳
Nice job Max,the bike looks 👌🏻 Running well and sounding like a cow or is it just me that heard that 😂😂.Best get some Velcro straps for Sean to cling on,looking forward to see him ride it👍🏻
Wow I was majorly surprised on the StarkVarg, thinking they did RWHP . A little surprised on the GasGas, I know KX500’s putting out much more and linear too (was of course my favorite, and what I rode for years until now, waiting for it…) the Black Panther:70 RWHP Torque?
@@999lazer any chance in shooting for the stars on the 700, now? Of course, back to the 600: We are waiting on the first ride on a dirt road (long enough to get to top speed) and of course watching Sean on the track!
What a great machine you've got there. Congrats. In regards to the Stark, 70nm of torque from basacially nothing all the way through is ridiculous. As the tuner said, if that was actually able to be put down, it would be unstoppable.
Awesome build power... looks .... electric start ( I have owned CR500AF) it will be alot of fun . Holding onto it will wear you out soooo fast haha . Just like our CR500s put a paddle tire on it and ride it in the sand dunes but Im not sure if you have big dunes over in the UK thats where these big power 2stroke bikes are killer fun ! Great work guys
@@michaelfila2796 you also need the internal gear reduction to make the calculation since power is torque x RPM. Most dynos measure engine RPM inductively from the spark and calculate it.
Congrats boys that’s amazing, with relativity accounted for that means on starks dyno she’s got atleast 90hp maybe even close 100hp right from the cranm
What a great Build and Awesome Looking Bike you have put together Lads. Am surprised with the stark only topping out at 60bhp when everyone always yap on about it have 80bhp and nothing can beat it bike wise. Well done again Lads. When will we see it on the track? That’s what bikes are about man iv been waiting months to see this rip about the track 😂
Always been a fan of panthera. I'm glad there engines perform well. That bike is beautiful but I can't get over the temu looking universal 4 stroke muffler. Give a scalvini a call please
Quite convinced the stark wasn’t getting traction as 60 seems low considering that everytime I see one in high mode the rear wheel is just spinning on prayers to catch traction lol. The 600 pantara I’m not even remotely shocked made 70 hp as I’ve seen them in action in drag sleds , ATV chassis’s, u name it and they never fail to impress.
I'm curious as to why that facility chooses to not sit on the seat and add that extra load on the tire? I kind of think sitting on the seat is required you need that load not only for the suspension to load up in the back but for the chain to sit right, the tire to have the right load on it. But nonetheless all the runs were done consistently so the numbers should work out really surprised by the stark the other runs I've seen have hit in the high 70s. It does however prove that torque will always go to the electrics and torque turns the wheel.
The Black Panter is NOT a bike that I whould ride in the forest, in fact I don't think that I whould like to ride any of this bikes in an enduro race. Can't wait until you come out on a dirt track whith the Black Panter!
We have a few kits coming that will be pretty stout. A 2stroke kit. Should be about 3 months out. Available only through Kaplan. Keep your eyes peeled.
The reason why you got 60 hp might be because you added the correction factor keep in mind. This is an electric motor that doesn’t care about elevation and or temperature. Like the settings on a gas bike when you dyno them, I say put it back on the Dino and don’t add the correction factor
I found a Swedish article where they had issues with the Stark Varg Alpha being limited to 62 hp and 70 nm this past summer and they contacted support and after a lot of emails and testing they figured out there was an issue, by the sound of it, one should expect 80 hp... It sure looks like it has all them 80 hp when people use all that power, because it frickin goes like stink! xD Comments instantly jump on Stark Varg lying, some people do... would be very stupid to be lying about a thing that is so easy to disprove and they have sold a ton of these bikes and if there was lies and major issues we'd hear about it, I've been scouring the internet for video's on these bikes because I think they are so cool and its very hard to find people not in love with these bikes wich is great to see, but as with any new thing, especially high tech or mechanical, there will be issues...
I believe this bike could make power close to 100hp. There is video in youtube where Johnny Lehti made 91hp with cr500 that has 550cc liger cylinder. What size throttle body Panthera engine uses? Cr550 used 48mm lectron.
The knobbies are probably slipping on the dyno. Street tires would give a more accurate reading. You should have at least had a rider sitting on the bike , i think that Stark makes more.
450 4T VS specialized 600cc 2T, Hardly a fair race.. Even if they were equal CC the Panthera would still own that GG by a fairly high margin. Maico 700cc 2T dirt bike produces more power than the Panthera, That would have been a more appropriate opponent . The Panthera engine is the epitome of Canadian dirt bike tech and I'm Canadian so I would go with Panthera any day, and just might in the future - Already started A fund to pay for it.
Was a pleasure watching the build and naming the bike!
Excellent build. Dont care at all for electric anything but my vacuum cleaner.
LONG LIVE THE 2 STROKES
haha cheers Eric
Haha good one 😎
next build should be a 600cc 2 stroke parallel twin dirt bike.
hell yes :)
That = Unrideable
Didn't derby or someone make a 2 cylinder that got banned?
Could be a great hill climber!
Gilera made 2 cylinder that was so good the FIM banned 2 cylinder engine's.
That thing will be an absolute RIOT to ride!!! Epic!
its going to be interesting :)
incredible bike that you guys created you've got the hope of us petrol heads in your hands
no pressure..lol. Thanks for watching
I was scared when that stark was on there 😂😂that black panther sounds so smooth I think it’s gonna be a beut to ride can’t wait to see Shaun rip it
Thanks for watching James

get allan millyard to create a 1200cc parallel twin using the Panther top end , omg !!

That expansion chamber is huge
Love the 2 stroke videos keep it up!!!
Thanks! Will do!
11:30 panthera dyno
definetly sounded like the clutch was slipping on the panthera, i bet it can put down even more!
Bike looks the daddyo I'm glad you had your ear plugs in when you did the dyno run on the cordless drill

How much fun will this thing be 😮
I love your channel, very cool 2 stroke guys! Greetings from Latvia. Cant wait video on track!

Awesome 2-stroke build
Going to make me want a 2 stroke.
Very interesting! Top show!

A paddle tire and sand seem like a good combo for this.
Well done lads pure weapon you got there!
Thanks Andy
I am deeply saddened my BBC (British Big Cat) comment didn’t get a mention.
I mean come on that was golden!
Big Black... Contraption?
British Big Cat
I put it in this comment and the original.
It just needs some 17" wheels with nice round sticky rubber on them 😊 awesome bike.
we have something up our sleeve that you might like regarding this ;)

Congrats on matching 35yo CR500 & Kx500’s

Maybe Starks claim is 80Bhp at the crank,.. or output shaft or whatever they call it.

I think you should link up ol' Danny foden with the Panthera boys. World sidecar race team on a Panthera sounds good doesn't it?
We need an RXV 550 in the mix here ?
Hi Max. Genuinely curious as done loads of dynoing myself, how did you get an RPM trace from the Stark? As there's no spark plug!
Input kmh/1000 rpm and wheel diameter.
i will check with Roland, I know he had to check with the dyno manufacturer beforehand regarding set up for the Stark

ive got a question. is there a reason why you dont you sit on the bike while dyno-ing?

What was the Torque of the PM-09?
52.09
Next build idea. Late 90s early 00s Steel frame Yz250 + a Yamaha Banshee engine.

Next build the BRC twin cylinder in a dirt bike 💪
Which hp did you state? At the crank or rear wheel?
Back in the 80'S HRC made a 600 prototype that made 101 horses power. It was basically unriderble so they scrapped it
I still don’t think it would beat the Stark Varg in a drag race
i think the 450 will give the 2 stroke a run for its money in a drag race
Call it the Punisher
The next build should be 17 CR 500 motors in parallel with turbo chargers on every single one of them
Pity it wasn't 666cc you could of done it in Iron Maiden colours , The number of the Beast
