I've had the IUD for like 6 years now and not a single pregnancy scare so far....
It better not happen is all I'm saying...
don't you need to replace some types after 5 years? to keep the effect up
There are different kinds of IUDs I happen to have the 3 yr one but it goes up to 10 years!
@@rili84 The one I have (the hormone-free copper IUD) should be replaced every 5 to 10 years I believe. I got both my cervical cancer screening and my pap smear in the last 6 months and they didn't say anything about it so I assume it's fine for at least another year lol
@@bums009 aah okay XD just wanted to mention it just in case haha
@@rili84 I appreciate that :) it's always good to spread useful information 😊
It sucks that no one warned her about this. When I got an IUD my doctor said that if I ever had a positive pregnancy test to go straight to the ER for this exact reason. I’m about to get a new one next month after five years though, and everything has been good!
5 years? The one i had was for 12 years max. I got the one she got.
SuJu ELF since 2009 I have Mirena which lasts 5. There is also Kyleena on the market which lasts 3 years. They are hormonal birth control but can have the same issues with eptopic pregnancy the 12 year IUD has.
I just got an IUD for the first time in Dec. 2019. I got the Kyleena, but my doctor said that it last for up to 5 years. It is also hormone based and not the copper one. So far so good as well!
Did getting it put in hurt?
HillaryBanks Yes, but for me the pain of insertion was less painful than period cramps I have had in the past. This varies from person to person though (depending on your age, if you have had children already etc). Of course, as always, check in with your OBGYN and see what they think for you personally ☺️
She was just rare case. Glad she okay. Everybody is different. Iud are bomb. As you can see she still kept hers.
Her body different
O know of 3 lol but yeah it’s rare
Ok but she said that it felt like fiberglass for him during intercorse that time; does it happen that the other person or you can feel the strings?
At the end of the day it’s a personal decision for every person. Mine nearly killed me. That’s not the case for everyone but I’ll never have one again.
Inmortalis omg how??
Why cant they just release the male birth control already, this is tew murch lol
Honestly, I rather trust myself than a guy. For most guys the thought of pregnancy is nowhere as scary as for women. I always make sure I take my pills on time and never skip or forget. I'd be paranoid if using birth control was up to guys
They should but I’d rather trust myself than someone else
It's already out there. Men just won't take it.
tell him to get a vasectomy 😉 can be noninvasive and super fast recovery (also no major side effects)- unlike women’s birth control or even getting our tubes tied.
They have already, men are just too wuss to take it. During the testings, men complained that there were too many side effects. These were the same side effects that women experience.
i just wanna say, transvaginal ultrasounds are NOT as bad as she makes them out to be, so if any of yall need one, dont freak out by her explanation
Yeah, I had many internal ultrasounds in my day and while they are uncomfortable they were nothing like she made them out to be.
Completely agree. I just had one the other day and it was no big deal at all. Perhaps it was only so bad for her because she had issues? Don’t be scared by her descriptions about it! It’s mildly uncomfortable, at most.
It’s probably different for everyone. The one I had for my first pregnancy wasn’t that painful but super uncomfortable, but for some reason when I got one for my second pregnancy it hurt badly enough that I had to ask them to stop. I’m not sure if it was a mental thing since I already knew it would be uncomfortable, but for anyone who DOES get freaked out by it, the person doing it will usually be considerate to your discomfort as long as you’re vocal about it.
@@xBonnibelBubblegumx very true. I've had a lot of em myself and the first lady that did it said that it's gonna feel weird but will help if you relax your pelvis.
I just had one a few days ago and it was the most painful thing ever. I think it’s different for everyone 🤷🏼♀️
I read this as:
"Is it a boy or a girl?"
"It's an IUD"
Lmfao
Omg it’s a.... IUD Congratulations it’s a beautiful IUD take care of it u will bond perfectly 😂😂😂
I read this as she getting pregnant by an iud
@@terynb4407 same-- I thought there was sperm on the iud when it got put in lol
🤣
I actually just had my IUD removed 2 weeks ago after only having it for 4 months because it was having negative results on my body. It's hard being a women and trying to figure out what works best for you. I don't think men understand how difficult it is to find a birth control that works for our bodies in a successful way. Most times it doesn't work, negative results or worse. I was on the pill prior to the IUD and again, negative results. I wish there was more care and research done into women's birth control.
@@aPeachWhoLovesYeshua I had sharp pains for over a month when on my IUD, excessive bleeding and gaining weight. It didn't help my cramps or heavy bleeding which is why I went on it :( I was on Kyleena
Vanessa Ramzieh that sounds terrible! That reminds me of the time I was on depo😫. This is so unfair I just don't wanna get pregnant why do we have to go through this shi😭
@@aPeachWhoLovesYeshua being a women is so difficult man, men don't even begin to understand
That must be really hard for you. Men really never understand us women and I do agree on more research in the world. But actually some countries don’t even have researches for women which is very wrong. How are you now? Hope all is well now.
@@vanessaramzieh977 Sounds to me like it wasn't inserted properly, the pains are only supposed to last a week or so, I had minor cramps here and there but I've had mine almost 2 years now, It sucks that incorrect insertions are still such a common issue
All of these comments of women saying they also got pregnant with an iud are making me paranoid. Any time a man tries to get near me from now on I'm just going to shoo them away lol
Same
Please do not EVER get the Paragard, worst mistake I ever made in my life.
@@Asia.Persuasia waitttt I have it, why is it bad
I'm freaking out right now. I just had my IUD like 4 days ago.
I have an IUD right now and my period is late…im freaking out
My biggest fear, I’m terrified of ever getting pregnant and having kids and if I could I would get my tubes tied. IUD is suppose to be one of the strongest forms of birth control and the fact that this happens is terrifying.
If you're that scared then double down and use an iud/the pill and a condom then your chances of getting pregnant are astronomically reduced.
savannawithoutanh of course I do that 🙄. But the thought of this happening is still terrifying.
Yes when I am a aldult
@@savannawithoutanh5973 LOL!
Happened to me that’s why I use the implant in my arm now had it for 3 years and just changed it
Just an FYI vaginal ultrasounds don't always hurt! I've had to have them to check on ovarian cysts and it had never been uncomfortable. Honestly didn't feel like anything. If you have to get one, don't worry! They usually aren't that bad!
At least you said not always & usually. Other women here are basically calling her liar by claiming it doesn't hurt & is at the most uncomfortable as if their experience is the only truth.
Honestly, some of us experience bad pain from it. Just because it's not too big for the average woman doesn't mean it's not too big for everyone.
Tamara Smith I definitely understand that everyone is different. My main motivation for commenting what I did so other women won't be too scared of it. It is possible for it to hurt, but in my experience and talking with my friends it wasn't bad. I am sad that in her experience it was as bad at it was.
They're uncomfortable to a point but not unbearable at least :)
Right. I believe it’s up to the tech and ur body. Mine never hurt
I had a copper IUD for 2 years, I loved it but I was having some pain so to investigate if it was the IUD or endometriosis I had it removed. On the day of the removal though I mentioned to my doctor I had missed my period and had breast tenderness. Turns out I was pregnant. She told me the IUD was 100% in the right place, after testing and ultrasound we determined it was in my uterus. I'm currently in my first trimester :) luckily my partner and I wanted to have kids, just moved the timeline up a bit! No method is 100%.

Imagine having this condition and living in a country where is illegal to end a pregnancy, you just wait till you die, thats my country sadly, hope every country legalize this practice so women can get this type of fast action on a echtopic pregnancy(sorry for the bad english if any)
Really? That's really terrible. In my country abortion for medical reason like her is completely legal.
No i dont support murderers
N o l e e ! It isn’t a murder. not allowing abortions is literally taking away women’s rights. they should have the right to choose what happens to THEIR body. now imagine this: you are 13, and were raped. you were left pregnant. obviously you would want an abortion. it isn’t murder because the baby is unborn and would have a TERRIBLE life. also, what 13 year old could handle giving birth? or imagine this: you get pregnant, but have problems with your girl parts. you weren’t really supposed to give birth. The doctor tells you that the baby will be a still birth. why would you wait the rest of the time to go through the pain of giving birth when you know the baby will be dead. it’s terrible. obviously you would want the baby out of your body, it isn’t even living. people also get abortions because they know that the baby will have a terrible life. and don’t say “what about adoption” the person still has to give birth. and, they could be in foster care, which is VERY traumatizing. even being adopted induces a lot of trauma. now, normally I respect all opinions, but I don’t respect yours💗
N o l e e ! It was not growing correctly and it would’ve killed both mother and unborn child. She should have the right to at least save her life. The fertilized egg attached itself to a small tube where it could not develop properly so it had no chance anyway
If you really don't want to get pregnant, then you probably shouldn't be letting someone ejaculate inside of you, iud or otherwise. No birth control is 100% effective, people rely way too much on one form of contraception then wonder why they fall pregnant.
Also, places where abortion is generally illegal still usually allow it in a situation where it could be fatal to the mother.
I have my second IUD now. Had a twin pregnancy while I had the first IUD in. So yea. I’m basically a unicorn 🦄. All my doctors told me to buy lotto tickets.
Same thing happened to my sister. She had twins after having the IUD for several years.
There are only two sets of twins in my family that I can think of. Two of my cousins had a set of twins, each cousin from a different aunt on my moms side.

OMG I'm glad this video came up in my feed. I'm currently 8 months pregnant while having the paragard IUD. I'm so grateful I had no other complications or needs for surgery I'm glad everything worked out well for her. I had my IUD for over a year with no problems and two ultrasound checkups that confirmed everything was in place. At the start of the year I began having pregnancy symptoms so I went to the doctor for a test. They told me not worry as it was so rare but after I did my urine sample I heard someone yell in surprise in what I assume is the testing area so I knew before they came it it was positive. It is so crazy to be one of those small percentage but it really can happen to anyone. I was difficult for me to have mine removed even though the string was still there. I went to the ER after my pregnancy test and they would not remove it because of the risk I ended up seeing two other OBs before it was taken out. It was a shock at first but I'm very grateful for my healthy baby boy who will be here in august ❤❤❤
So glad everything it's going well with baby boy. What a story he'll have to tell about being destined to be here🙏🏽

Join an IUD support group on FB and you will see that it does happen more often than you think. Big Pharma isn't always telling the truth about their products. Doctors don't seem to warn you about the bad side effects either,
Anna Gump The group also is for women with positive experiences as well. It’s literally an informative group about the IUD. Not all of the posts are negative, nor are they all positive. This is a relatively newer form of birth control so there have been many problems presented with it. Everyone’s bodies are different. I joined it even though I did not have any problems with my Liletta at the time. I would rather inform people about these very common side effects so they know what they are getting into. But let’s face the facts here, hormonal BC has always come with risks and side effects, but this form of birth control is newer compared to others which means less research.

@@rockellc7467 you can still get pregnant with the pull out method due to precum and sperm in the urethra, so people tend to recommend using a back-up contraceptive as well. in my case, my iud moved out of place even though i got checked 2 weeks prior (perfectly in place at the time). i didn't use a back up contraceptive, and honestly it sucks to have to pay so much money for the iud PLUS back-up. just be careful and make sure you get it checked regularly.

A transvaginal sonogram isn’t that bad. If they lubricate it good enough it will go In easy and is not painful at all
I completely agree. However every BODY is different, and given her anxiety during the situation that’s probably why she was so uncomfortable.
I get that hers was painful but its not always like that. Uncomfortable? Yes.
This is very dependent on the woman, and on the person performing it.
I had serious endometriosis and transvaginal ultrasounds were agonizing for me.
Yes, it's dependent on the woman, but not because of anxiety. I hurt so bad every time. It's too big, hurts by the time it's in halfway, the pain makes involuntary clenching which increases the pain. They say to relax, as if you can, because it's not anxiety over the test results or embarrassment from a stranger looking at your private parts. I know it's a medical professional, they are just doing their job. It's not like someone perving on you, & I'm not even bothered by a male doctor or PA doing my regular exam. It's from the freaking pain when the ultrasound wand goes in. I tell them that, tell them to just do the scan as quickly as possible so the pain ends quicker. So then they do have to force it the rest of the way in.
The pain from the clamps that hold you open for exams/pap smear swabs hurts even more. It feels like they're stabbing me when they lock it open.
With both things the pain doesn't stop til they take it out & then I'm so sore for hours after.
I freaking hate them with a passion. It does hurt me and I always get the urge to cry
I'm so glad they posted a video like this. it makes me want to cry. grateful for this kind of info and glad ur safe.
Just so people know, the transvaginal ultrasound isn’t that bad. It’s uncomfortable yes but for her to say it hurts really really bad is just gonna scare people
I thought the same thing. Like it was it was uncomfortable but I didn’t think it hurt
I had a transvaginal ultra sound when I had ovarian cysts. It was definitely really painful for me but it was specifically because I had the cyst and the pressure was painful. I’m thinking in her case it was painful for a similar reason. I would imagine if I had one now it would be fine.
Plus they don’t shove it up you like she’s describing. They had me insert it myself, and then the technician moved it around.
suleiny beltre I’ve had multiple ovarian cysts and it was a little sore and touchy and painful but not how she explained and my main worry was she would scare other people
I was thinking exactly the same! My OBGYN is super gentle and places it in with a looooot of lube, and it's definitely not that big, I even had a sonogram when I was still a virgin and it was fine!
This happened to my mother too, and that’s how i have a half sister who’s 18 years younger than me (I’m 19 now lmao)

A transvaginal ultrasound is super common and needed in many cases. They can be uncomfortable, but they’re generally not painful- (you obviously had special circumstances.) They do not just “shove it up you”. The nurse will hand it to you generally and you insert it yourself, then they take it and do the exam. I respect your pain and trauma, but This kind of misinformation can scare women away from getting the help they need.
Could the fact that this happened 10± years ago had to with why it was so uncomfortable with it? Like methods and instrument may have changed?
Probably depends on the doctor. I had the same experience. it is extremely uncompfortable and sometimes very painful.
The way she described it is exactly how it happened for me-- very painful and the pain actually lasted for weeks. It's not misinformation, it's someones personal experience and it's valuable for people to know this is how it could feel so they're fully prepared. I thought there was something wrong with me because everyone told me it shouldn't hurt and it was actually really affirming to hear her experience was similar.
@@alexandragreig290 it's definitely not normal for it to hurt for weeks. Either the doctor didn't do it right or something is abnormal

Im 24 and I had an ectopic pregnancy at 21 (before I had an IUD) I don’t know how high her levels were but usually they give you some shots to try to stop the pregnancy and then keep checking your levels. The shot didn’t work for me so after 2 weeks, 2 shots in my butt, and 100000 blood tests later they did surgery and squeezed the egg out. Turns out I had a cyst the size of my uterus on my other tube so they had to remove that one. But I’m so confused about this lady freaking out about a transvaginal ultrasound... it feels weird but it doesn’t hurt at all ... I almost passed out getting my IUD put in though 😭
Different pain tolerances and experiences :)
Each woman is different...you have to find a method that works for you and stick to it. Some women are fine with the IUD. For some, the IUD will migrate and for others it will fall out. Some women are fine on the pill and others get sick. Some people succeed with the rhythm method COMBINED WITH METICULOUS vaginal/hormonal monitoring. Some women (like me) cannot do IUDs or the pill and cant monitor their irregular periods so have no choice but to use latex condoms. Some women cant use latex condoms because they are allergic to the material. Some women use diaphragms (despite the fact that doctors advocate against them for reasons I'll keep to myself because I don't feel like arguing lol)...etc etc. Be your own advocate and do your own research. Don't let your partner make you de-prioritize your own health in favor of a specific type of contraceptive. Find what is best for you!!!
This is not the first time I heard a women having an ectopic pregnancy while having the IUD in. Thank you for sharing your story. Those risks should be explained beforehand. Right now I am using FAM as a contraception so I don't have to put synthetic hormones in my body.
i put an IUD on last year. It was the most painful experience ever BUT, to this day, its still one of the best decision I took: I've never felt more like myself. I was on the pill for 7 years and never really realise how they made me moody and depressive all of that is gone now
did you get the hormonal or the copper iud?
I’ve been abstinence since March and thinking to wait until marriage 🤷🏾♀️
U can do this gurl
I been abstaining for a year
Yesss I believe in you!
Ashanté S. Thank you ☺️
That’s good, I’m happy for you, abstinence is the best option if someone doesn’t want a baby
Its all about what you want for yourself and your body!! Good luck, I know that, ironically, society doesn't always approve of waiting until marriage nowadays.
I had a tubal 6 week pregnancy with my iud and now I have had two healthy babies in the last three years! I wish I had known more when I got my IUD but I’m so happy I was able to have babies I didn’t think it would be possible after losing my Fallopian tube. Thanks for putting this video out so more people can be aware. 🥰
What?! I didn’t know you could conceive without fallopian tubes 🤔 Interesting!
@@ladye2818 I am missing one of my tubes not both
This happened to me too, I got the IUD at the age of 20 and fell pregnant and found out I was pregnant at 22 with my first child!
I found out it had moved out of place, and my wee miracle was there!
They told me I had a 50/50 chance he would survive. And he did and is now nearly 14! It was very painful too, and it made sense since it had moved out of place!
Hi , how did u come over it, was the iud removed before there baby or
Yo, I have an iud and I’ve been thinking I’m pregnant for like three weeks. My pregnancy tests all have been negative but I feel like the universe is trying to tell me something by having this in my recommended videos.
I would go to your doctor and tell them about it, and maybe get a blood test done, and if that pops up negative, I would be surprised if you are actually pregnant
I s a b e l l a I’m almost 100% sure it’s my anxiety but casually coming across videos like this doesn’t help lol
Miranda Habig and yeah you’re right videos like this most definitely doesn’t help 😅
I s a b e l l a For reference, I’ve had an IUD for about 1.5 years now and I think I’m pregnant at least once every other or every third month. I just am not ready to be a momma
Miranda Habig ohh okay yeah and yeah anxiety could also cause some symptoms, so i think you’re good lol, but if you are really worried you are pregnant ever, just be sure to get checked 😊 I wish the best for ya❤️
When I went for a consultation for an IUD, this was explained to me right off the the bat. While I think it’s very important to share stories about experiences like this, It’s sad that there are few positive experiences online. I know plenty of people in my life that had very good experiences with an IUD, but of course I turned to the internet first to find out all about them. I hope if someone whose trying to learn if an IUD is right for them doesn’t get deterred because of this persons rare situation.
Thank you for your reaffirmation.
I've had an IUD for 16 years, have not gotten pregnant or had a period. It's one of the best decisions I ever made.👍🏿
that's great! good for you👍🏻
Wait, are you on the hormonal or copper? If the copper one,I didn't think it would stop periods completely!
Same ! 😁
Which one are u usingg
@@opuimor no IUD. Mini pill instead. I'm too frightened of the whole allergy to copper or like the woman in the video an ectopic pregnancy-I've read up about them. I think I might be eligible for other forms of contraception, need to discuss my options again.
honestly, I feel bad for her, I'm glad she survived, and now I never want to get pregnant.
She’s a good story teller 👍🏻
I luckily didn't get pregnant when I had my iud, but it migrated into my abdomin and they had to surgically remove it.
Wow, they never tell you it can move around like that. Scary stuff.
How did you find out that it was in your abdomen? Did you have any side effects?
Karla, i knew something was wrong because I hadn't had a period in a year and a half after it got put in. But then I started to bleed and got lots of pain. So I wound up going to the er and they did a bunch of scans after not locating my string on the iud
Did you not ever check your strings? Just wondering. I’ve had my iud and they did a check at 1 month, 3 months, 6, and they wanna do one at a year.
Wtfuuuuuuck
I’ve had a hormonal IUD for 4 years now (changed it once as it lasted only 3 years). It’s the best decision I’ve ever made. I will also say that I believe copper IUD’s are not as effective as hormonal IUD’s. It is a lot lower of a dose because it’s right at the source, compared to ingesting (the pill).
I got pregnant with an IUD also. I was shocked, scared...no... TERRIFIED. I also had to do the sonogram. My IUD was in place. In fact, one of the arms of the IUD was pushing into the sac. I had to have the IUD removed. My boyfriend (husband now), watched them pull the IUD out. The doctor's told me, don't tell anyone, you will probably miscarry. My entire life changed. I wanted to sue, but i found out i couldn't. My daughter is going to be a very happy and healthy three......
did you still have your regular period ?
Asking the same as her did you still have your period or how did you know ? I have been feeling awfully sick to my stomach
Like if I were pregnant and did get my period end of November so debating whether to take a test or if it’s something else making me sick
A friend had an IUD and it displaced. She got pregnant and carried the baby to term with it lodged in her uterus.. after baby was born they went laproscopically and couldn't find it. They ended her surgery and had to open her up found it in the lining of her intestines.
Ultrasound tech here. For those who have not had a transvaginal ultrasound, just know the probe is mostly handle. Only a small portion is inserted. I have had one and there were parts where it was a little uncomfortable but nothing to be scared of. We are all built different so some may have bad experiences. A TV exam can be extremely beneficial to diagnosing a ob/gyn issue.
Wow thank you for sharing this video. I am considering getting my first IUD and this was very insightful.
I have the Mirena and thankfully, I’ve had zero issues. I mainly got it to stop my periods though. The fact that it prevents pregnancy is just a bonus! 😆
I have to get a transvaginal sonogram to check for fibroids or endometriosis and this video just amplified my incredible nervousness and upset for it so that’s great-thanks krista ..
4 minutes ago i was sleeping
Recommended to me,
Me: has an IUD, got pregnant. Miscarried.
Weird...
Hope you’re okay babe
I know everyone is probably thinking “don’t say sorry, she didn’t want the baby in the first place” but I am sorry xx 💕 it can be really awful and painful and make you feel bad, but if you need to talk I’m here xx 💕
Sorry this happened to you hun ❤❤
i want a baby so bad! please wish me luck to get pregnant
I'm 8 weeks pregnant right now and I got my tubes cut when I had my son 3 1/2 years ago. Nothing is 100%. And I just got a transvaginal ultrasound and it was not that bad at all. But I am thankful I didn't have an ectopic pregnancy . That was definitely a concern. Glad you're ok!
I didn’t know you could conceive without fallopian tubes 🤔
If you can please reply what method did they use for sterilization?
Oh yeah, that transvaginal ultrasound is an experience. I’ve had two thanks to my IUD shifting around after an ovarian cyst. Still wouldn’t swap my IUD though - I have a Mirena and I went from cripplingly heavy periods to light spotting. Best decision I ever made - I wish I’d got it done 10 years earlier.
I got an iud and got pregnant. My son was born at 24 weeks gestation with the iud wrapped in the placenta. Thank god he survived but I am now high risk for the rest of my life. I was told they could take my iud out if I didn’t want to keep my baby, otherwise I heard nothing about preterm labor. I wish they could’ve taken the iud out. Please be careful ladies. I almost lost my precious baby boy because of this, 0.01%
My mom got pregnant with me with an IUD. They told that I might not make it but look at me I’m here lol
You were meant to be here
Ya, wish they would research a safer birth control.
2 forms of birth control for males are in testing at the moment. One of them blocks the vas deferens so sperm cannot leave the testes. ✔
I would still consider the IUD the safest out there, it has the least impact on your body even if you get the hormonal version, and it is the most effective.
Mama Doctor Jones has videos explaining different types of bc (including the research on male bc)
Nothing is safe when it's designed to get in the way of nature and biology
@@raine2353 women have been controlling our bodies since our elders picked herbs for medicine. We just don't remember or in some cases that knowledge was forbidden. It is not unnatural, just told it is.
Hi Krista, I'm Christa 😊 and I, too, am pregnant with IUD and it was perfectly in place as well. my pregnancy happened to be a normal pregnancy. This is definitely an unplanned but I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. I actually just uploaded a video of my story and would love for you to watch it.
Congratulations! I believe everything happens for a reason too. May I ask if the iud was in for a while/ about to expire? I have had mine for about six months and have been feeling nauseous for the past two days but negative pregnancy tests. I wouldn’t mind having a baby but just curious if those who got pregnant with it perfectly in place had it for a while to the point where it became less effective.
@@nickyallen6796 my IUD was in place for over a year before I became pregnant. It was the paraguard so definitely not expiring. It's crazy because I have heard of many women getting pregnant while having IUD perfectly in place
i’m feeding my 2 month old IUD baby right now! thanks paragard for making me a single mom at 19 🌞
You got this ! ❤️
I’m a bit confused as to why the transvaginal ultrasound aka “sonogram” was so uncomfortable...? I’ve had that done a dozen times and yeah it’s not the most pleasant experience but it shouldn’t be painful. The wand is less than the width of 2 fingers so don’t be too scared. And btw no I’m not “loose,” in face I have the opposite issue, 😅 so I’m kinda concerned that it felt that way for her 😬
It always hurts me VERY badly too. It hurts going in starting at about halfway in, causes involuntary muscle clenching which then makes it hurt even more. Also those clamps that hold you open for pap smear swabs/ exams. Those are even worse. I feel like I'm being stabbed inside when they lock them open.
They always look at you & say to "relax, stop clenching", like you're capable of relaxing. I always wanna say "Let's see how relaxed you are when someone is stabbing you with a knife!" but I don't. I just tell them I'm not tense or embarrassed, it's pain & I can't control it. The muscles won't stop until they pull it out & the sharp pains stop. Just do it as fast as possible.
I'm also always sore for hours after either one of those things is put up me. I think some women just really are much narrower than average.
Just like childbirth women have different pain levels so it's not surprising at all. I would never tell a woman childbirth isn't that bad because I didn't suffer that much. We are not clones. Thickness of muscles, placement of nerve endings and organs all differ from body to body.
I have one in right now...... I've been having bad cramps, I'm super bloated. Like bruah, I'm worried about this happening. My anxiety can't take this. I'm constantly thinking it's out of place and I could be pregnant and die. Guess what nobody is open now, I can't book an appointment. :/
my friend, watching this video with me: panics just thinking about this happening
me, a virgin: can't relate yet
Yeah I’m sticking to natural family planning
This is happening to me, but both urine and blood tests come out negative. 5 home pregnancy tests negative. But my bump is growing, and I feel movement. No one believes me, and its exhausting mentally. Monday I go for an ultrasound, tuesday I go back to my obgyn he prescribed me antibiotics. I pray it is nothing serious but a pregnancy 🙏🏻 I'm walking a lot for my work in 104 heat and yet I'm still going strong, which is completely opposite of my other two
🙏I hope you are doing well
Update? Are you really pregnant at that time?
Vaginal ultrasounds aren’t that bad! Just in case anyone see this and gets afraid of getting one. I got one when I was 9 weeks pregnant and it’s not painful.
I had a left side ectopic rupture and didn’t know until I’d already bled about a litre internally. They did a laparoscopic surgery, just like you, but they had to do a salpingectomy and remove my left tube completely. Now i have to do fertility treatment to monitor which side the ovary is dropping the egg. Thanks for sharing your story!
Together we have a full set! I had a right side ectopic that started to rupture, had to have the tube removed with emergency surgery.
TheSilentTypo sorry to hear! It was quite an experience, and the recovery was a tad rough. Have you had any issues since?
Mine was made worse by the fact that the doctors accidentally cut my bladder during the procedure, so I had a catheter for a while after. But I can't imagine how much pain you must have been in! Mine was the tiniest bit split, to have ruptured and been full on bleeding internally must have been painful and scary! Mine was in 2017, I had had two miscarriages before that. Last year I managed to have my first baby and he was worth it all. How are you going? The whole process can be emotionally draining as well as physically.
TheSilentTypo mine was in 2017 too! I had a miscarriage the following year and were still waiting for our rainbow baby. Congratulations on yours and also, I’m very sorry for your losses. The miscarriage was way more traumatic than the ectopic, mainly because I was sure nothing else bad could happen after that lol. I was like “oh babies not in the tube so evergthings fine” and didn’t expect it at all. But I have amazing fertility doctors and a supportive partner, so I’m luckier than many people in similar positions. ♥️
Oh wow, how incredible to meet someone with such a similar experience! I felt that way after the ectopic. I thought nothing could be worse than losing them. Then the ectopic was like a slap in the face. Here was a pregnancy that was sticking! Yay! But it's not viable because it's in the wrong spot. I'm sorry for your losses too. It's all hard. But you will get there! I'll have all my fingers and toes crossed for you. And thank you for sharing your experience with me! You are a remarkable human and gave me the confidence to share 😊 I think talking about it helps, but sometimes I still feel sad and a little ashamed, which I know is silly, but there you go. So thank you for giving me courage ❤️
I didn’t know why I had a rupture until it was almost too late. I had to be rushed into surgery. I just turned 20 and I have to live the rest of my life with one fallopian tube
I got pregnant with my iud as well. I should't even have gotten one since I had a uterus abnormality (which my doctor didn't realize even after additional appointments).
Sometimes I wish I had the strength to sue him but I have enough mental problems because of this and I'm afraid that my family finds out.
Since I have very irregular periods I also realized my missing period quite late. I had 1 weekend to make an appointment for my abortion. It was on the same day as my boyfriend's birthday and it was heartbreaking to see him like this. It was the second child he was loosing. Besides those memories this was the worst part...
Just a few days later I had my 20s birthday. I will never forget that week.
Just wanted to say that sometimes it requires an advanced imaging technique to diagnose a uterine abnormality.
@@manaralsuwaidi4534 what kind of advanced technique are talking about specifically?
I’ve had an IUD for over a year. No pregnancy scares whatsoever
Nothing stops God's plan for your life🙌😊
I'm glad you are ok. Thank you for the info!
I literally had a normal pregnancy on an IUD. I found out when I was 24weeks cause I was like “Noo it can’t be i have birth control” “it’s winter, I always gain weight during this time” . My periods were irregular so they did an ultrasound and the baby was as big as 23-24 week fetus so we went with that number. I pulled the IUD myself cause I was so angry after the test and when I went to the doctor she was like “noo it’s very dangerous” but I had already done it and my pregnancy was healthy as all my others
I can’t believe you pulled it out yourself whilst you were pregnant! I’m glad it worked out okay for you but DO NOT DO THAT! It’s dangerous to have done it even without being pregnant but you could have miscarried. ☹️
TonOfHats Ya don’t ever pull out IUD yourself!! Let the dr do that! Not just miscarriage but you can really hurt yourself! There is a reason why PROFESSIONALS insert and take them out. And why you can’t just get IUD like vitamins at drug store but need dr prescription.
I took mine out myself too I was sort of like taking out a tampon . Won’t ever do that again after hearing how bad it could turn out luckily for me I was fine and have conceived twice after removing it
Just to clarify if anyone was actually interested, but HCG is not only produced by women during pregnancy. It can also be produced by men or women if there is a tumor growing. However very few tumors actually produce HCG. Just thought i should put it out there.
I’ve had the internal ultra sound. For me it wasn’t that bad, but I can see how it can be scary in high stress situations.
Hi! Here after my iud fell out, just had my 6th baby and hubby and I are freaking out. 8am can’t come any sooner
i feel like out of all the types of IUDs, the copper IUD is the one that i've heard the most stories like this about. like "i got pregnant with an IUD!!!! ....oh yeah and it's the copper IUD"
I’m sorry for your loss:(
This is why I won’t get an IUD. I would hate to have no choice but to terminate :( I feel for her
I've had transvaginal ultrasounds and they weren't painful, am sorry it was for you Krista! *hugs* they're not comfortable, but it was tolerable for the time needed to take pics of my womb lol.
Just got my IUD.. I feel so comforted.. lol. But seriously.. good to know.. if you ever test positive for pregnancy with an IUD.. go to the ER and call your Dr.
all of these health issues are so scary
even if you take precautions, exercise, drink water, even still you can't be sure a huge problem won't threaten your life all of the sudden
Why would you keep the copper IUD if it failed on you? It could fail again, and it failed for a reason. You could've at least gotten a new copper IUD. The copper IUD is actually only 99.2% effective so 8 out of every 1,000 women with the copper IUD will get pregnant, while the hormonal IUD is 99.8% effective so only 2 out of every 1,000 women with the hormonal IUD will get pregnant, which is a huge difference in my opinion when it comes to getting pregnant.
Sorry for your loss💔
