      @sakuranovaryan9261 3 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      Of course they are. Physical or mental toughness can come from our experience,time and practice. As women face a lot of societal pressure and discrimination men also face a lot of societal pressure,toxic masculinity,isolation and other hindrance as such which can hurt them and force them to try to be as resilient as possible in the process(not always the case just giving an example)That being said, menstruation,pregnancy and after pregnancy is quite the tough journey for a woman specially cause it's physically painful and mentally exhausting. Of course men also play a major role into this as well. All thru my childbirth I was blessed to have my respective other really help me and care for me so I don't have to go thru it all alone like a lot of single mommies do out there you know and I really appreciate that. I also try to play an active role into my husbands mental and physical health.Men and women both should play active roles into each others lives u kno.That's what helps us grow and make each other's life a lot less difficult. I hope I made sense I was trying to be as accurate as possible.

      Yes, it’s a period cramp x50. Because period cramps are literally your uterus contracting, exactly what it does during labor. The real difference is in what your uterus is trying to expel, during periods its just trying to expel that thin endometrial lining that comes out as blood but during labor it’s trying to expel a small human 😂

    If you’re pregnant or planning to be, please don’t scare yourself with listening to horror stories. Giving birth is a natural thing, humans and animals have done so since the beginning of life. The things that happened to others might not happen to you, don’t let stories scare you. As a pregnant woman, protect yourself and your mental health by not listening to all the horror stories. It’s very easy to get sucked into the negatives. Take care of yourself, you are on an amazing journey, creating life. Stay healthy beautiful💖

If my epidural is not gonna work or that I might fall into a lot of possibilities I'd like to be mentally prepared beforehand....but yes it's doesn't get downright homicidal for all women so it's important to keep that in mind. Many say: The more kids you have, the easier it is to get pregnant (and) the labor will be easier.
      The theory is that giving birth is like most physical activities. During the first time, your body is stressed out, confused, and learning what to do. As you do the activity more, your body is like "Oh, I kinda understand now"

      Honestly, by the time you’re ready for the catheter and epidural, you won’t feel it - your contractions will be the only thing you’ll feel. The stitches if you have an epidural you also won’t feel happening it’s only after and they give you a peri bottle to help with pain.

      totally agree!
      they always say labor pain is so painful so I expected way worse kind of pain
      but having bad dysmennorhea prior
      the labor pain is same as my dysmennorhea pain just coming in 2-3 min waves
      studies different breathing techniques in youtube but the one worked for me is inhaling through nose for 4 seconds and slowly exhaling through mouth for 8 second really helped manage the pain and helped me calmed down
      for me being panicky and screaming just intensifies the pain
      concentrating on my breathing when contractions comes in waves help me be calm
      i also walk or in a balance ball
      just lying down I can feel the pain more
      Woman are born to do this 💪

    If it’s any comfort to anyone, I think these stories would have scared me to death if this is all I had to go off of before I had kids. I’ve had 3 natural births (1 at a birth center, 2 at home with midwives), pregnant with my 4th, and though it does get painful, the amount of hormones that kick in towards the end when you hold your baby is amazing! Our bodies were made for this! Birth is a beautiful and natural process. I just don’t want any first time mommas to get discouraged or anything by hearing the horror stories. It’s a very empowering experience. You can do it! ❤️

      @@thandekamasango3095 Being a first time mom is very scary. You're going into uncharted territory. It's usually the unknown that scares us, no matter what the situation is. You'll do fine. Just try to stay optimistic. Be as prepared as you can. I know you can't account for everything, but the more you can prepare for the better. If you want to deliver in a hospital, go there before you go into labor and get to know the labor ward. My hospital let me go tour their ward and fill out forms ahead of time. I'm so glad I did. I can't imagine filling them all out when I went into labor. If you haven't already, make a birth plan and share it with your doctor/midwife. Don't just assume they know. The actual delivery might not go exactly as you want it, but at least there will be something to go off of. One thing that nobody told me that I wish someone did, was that it's OK to be scared. Giving birth is scary and hard work, but it'll be OK. All kinds of emotions and feelings go through you the closer you get to your due date and every one is OK to have. You said you're due the end of July. You're almost there. You'll be fine. Pretty soon, you'll have your baby and this experience wouldn't be unknown anymore. That takes most of the scary or of it, I promise you that. I recommend getting the Epidural. That did help a lot. I fully believe I got to bond better with my baby because I didn't have the pain associated with my baby. Maybe that's just me though, but it did take away the pain. That's for sure. I'm terrified of needles but I'll never regret that one. I didn't see it or feel it. And it didn't have any effect on my baby. I had an older women kind of judge me for getting one saying I drugged the baby. But it doesn't. Sorry it's a long post. Pregnant moms, especially first time moms have a special place in my heart. Probably because I remember being one. Like I said, you'll be just fine. Sending good thoughts your way. Good luck. 👍

    My pregnancy was totally fine, off course your body changes but if you go with the flow and don’t resist it, then all is fine. You will off course often require rest and many things you used to do will have to be put on hold, but it’s for a good reason! Delivering a baby wasn’t that dramatic in the end. I went roughly 10h without meds and I had complications, so it’s been probably more painful according to the midwives than it would have been if the baby was positioned correctly. But I definitely would do it all over again. We talk only about some hours of your life and if you want, you can get an epidural, which is what I chose after 10h of contractions every 2-3 minutes. It’s intense but it’s definitely doable. The week after birthing is off course very special and you are vulnerable. Things must heal and you are also emotionally very raw. My husband and I were crying all the time because we were so touched by her arrival. Now at 3 months she sleeps already in her own room and is a happy, calm and easy going baby. It really does not at all feel like what people described to me before I had my own daughter. People used to scare me of how tired and exhausted I would be.. well, no, it’s not as tiring as people say if you get some help during the night and have a partner who is supportive. Off course it also depends on the child, but I always say: happy parents, happy baby

      I've had two vaginal, unmedicated (no meds during labor and birth) births at a birth center and I didn't poop during either one! I did tear just a little bit with my second but you seriously don't even feel the tearing or being stitched up - I mean, it's no big deal after pushing out a baby. I hemorrhaged after each baby so they gave me a shot of pitocin and two Cytotec pills to stop the bleeding. Cytotec makes you have diarrhea, so both times I pooped while in the bed, but it happened well over an hour (maybe 2?) after birth and by then you're in an adult diaper and they have chux pads on the bed. The first time I remember saying to one of the midwives, "Oh, damn. I thought that was a fart," and they laughed and said, "Whatever! Everybody poops." The second time I was expecting it but didn't get up soon enough to be in the bathroom. I just let it rip and my husband looked at me and said, "REALLY?" By the time you've had a baby and everyone in the room has seen your vagina (well, at a birth center it's a lot fewer people than a hospital), you just don't care. And if you breastfeed? Pppssshhh. I have to feed this baby and do a million other things. I don't have time to care about what other people think!

      Susie Unger From comparing my labor and delivery to that of friends, it’s pretty common to tear and it’s not so bad really. I had a second degree tear but the epidural meant I didn’t feel it nor the stitching and nothing feels different down there. Kegel exercises are suggested to help with elasticity and to prevent bad tearing. But also, try not to think about it 🙃 Think positive thoughts about your labor and delivery! All the best

      @Kjirsten Hess Men have a higher chance of dying from cancer, strokes, heart disease, pnumonia, HIV, coronavirus, and many other diseases. And a far higher chance of dying from suicide, accidents, or murder. Men by nature live several years less than women. Men also do almost all of the very dirty, dangerous, and important jobs. Construction, shipping, sewer work, etc. And have a higher chance of suffering extreme injury. I am a man and I'm not complaining about this. That's just life.
      I by no means mean to to put down women. Giving birth is the single most extreme and important act. We all owe the greatest respect to our moms.

      @@bjornlarson5211 I've done the research, and men have a more likely chance of actually developing cancer because they're more likely to encounter carcinogens through cigarette smoking or auto body and factory work. And another stat is women are more likely to see a doctor if they're having a problem. So the statistics of them dying would definitely increase! And also, when it comes to suicide, women are more likely to try and kill themselves (3-4x more likely) but men, are more likely to die from it. “One is that men use more lethal means [to attempt suicide], and the second is that they don’t seek care as much,” "Men are more likely to use firearms and other deadly methods, while women are more likely to use pills." Also, when it comes to mental illness, women are more likely to seek help. But what you are right about is for the most part, men do *most* of the "dangerous jobs".. but what you're wrong about is saying they do the *important* jobs.

      @@puff4664 it does still. Do some google searches and you'll find testimonies of women, nurses, and OBGYN's who have encountered women here in the US who have had this done to them. It's against practice, but ultimately they will practice as they want.

    I've had 2 daughters, both labours, though hella painful, were straight forward, less than 5 hours, and very primal. I remember saying to my husband at the time at the first birth, "I can do this again" and I did. I always thought I'd want an elective C, I was too healthy so it wasnt an option, I don't regret it for a moment though, the process, though painful is also really empowering. There is no-one else in this world, other than you, can birth your baby, and when they are born? Then you know what LOVE is.

    It’s not all that bad. It’s just a wonderful/crazy experience that we end up doing it over and over. My second child was a natural birth and being pregnant now with my third, I plan to do it natural again. The contractions are the worst part, pushing was nothing in comparison. I had an epidural for my first and I honestly prefer natural. To each their own of course but it’s really not all that bad. You don’t feel the tearing and they stitch you up quick so the only bad thing from that is some stinging when you pee but they give you a squirt bottle which helps SOO much.

      There is nothing moral about giving birth. Forcing people into existence who never asked to be born. It is hardly something to respect.

      J D Everything is invented or created without asking beforehand. Humans undergo the same process of all material manifestations. Just because you didn’t ask to be here doesn’t mean you don’t belong. Human existence and the creation of such is as moral and respectable as the creation of all other objects in the universe. It’s a beautiful process.

    Fun fact ladies: Its more natural to give birth squatting, not lying down with feet in the stirrups. Gravity helps birth the baby, pain is lesser and labor is faster. But you can't get an epidural because you *can't stand*. Most underdeveloped countries still give birth like this, which is how people can tolerate having 12 kids without painkillers.

      They lied to me all during my birthing classes, telling me I could choose to give birth in whatever position I felt comfortable. When it came time to push, the nurses forced me on my back, even though I told them I was not comfortable that way. That's when the baby's heart rate spiked, and they still chose to force me to stay in that position. It's all about the doctor's comfort in Western medicine, never the patient.

      @@spriggy4382 Ugh. That is terrible!! That is one of the reasons we chose a birthing center for our pregnancies (we're lucky enough to have several in our area). I didn't want to have to deal with having to fire my nurses or doctors (which you can do!) or have meds forced on me (I react badly to a lot of medications). A birthing center and CNMs (certified nurse midwives or midwives, depending on the place) follows your wishes as much as they can within reason. I planned two water births but the first I didn't get to do because baby had already pooped in the womb and could have aspirated on the poop if we'd done a water birth. For my second they had the tub filled for me, but I decided I just felt more comfortable strength-wise laying on the bed (on my side for part of it and then on my back with one badass midwife letting me pull myself up with her extended arm). I knew I might be too weak to hold myself up in the tub. Anyway, I wish everyone knew all the choices available to them, even if it's just to tell a nurse or doctor that you want to squat or lay on your side or whatever!

      This may be a very juvenile question but: how do they catch the baby? Babies are so delicate in infancy so do you squat over a pillow or something?

    • @amygeorgopoulos1400
      @amygeorgopoulos1400 4 ปีที่แล้ว +170

      @@NyanHomeschoolGirl17 Not a juvenile question at all! A baby's head can take a bit to push out and at that point, a midwife or doctor already has their hands there waiting or on the baby. With both of my births, one of my midwives gently had their hands pressing against my perineum (the area between the vagina and anus) and also squirting olive oil both to help prevent tearing, so her hands were right there. I was laying down but it's be the same with a woman who was standing or squatting.
