That double-bladed lightsaber Maul has at the end of, "Solo," IS the same one he has in, "Rebels," that he took from an Inquisitor.
TWSTF 8 I bet a inquisitor saw Maul and dropped his lightsaber and ran. A friend of mine who watched Rebels told me that when someone was beating them in a fight, they ran.

Solo takes place before Star Wars Rebels. Maul hasn't met Ezra Bridger and hasn't gone to the Sith Temple.

i think it was unexpected. it makes very much sense for the people who read the books an comics and watch the shows but normaly disney woldnt want to confuse the majority of the audience wich does not know that hes still alive.

Yeah, that's the only unexpected part of it. That disney would have allowed it to be apart of the movie was the surprise. It's an exciting change and opens a lot of doors. In a way this movie played it safe. But also this was one of the riskiest moves they've made so far.
Only thing that surprised was his necklace. I was like when did he get that? He's never had a necklace like that
also i think decision to showed us Maul alive in the live-action movie also give the animated series (both The Clone Wars & Rebels) the recognition they deserve, Not just for SW fans but for the general public

...Does he not know that it’s the same lightsaber as in Rebels? Given this, I don’t think it’ll be possible to overwrite Rebels. That other numerous reasons that I think others are aware of.
I don't think they will overwrite Rebels either, especially since it's so recent. What I would like to see is how Maul goes from controlling one of the most powerful criminal organizations in the galaxy on Dathomir to being yet again basically a hermit on Malachor when we first see him on Rebels.
Wait but how did maul . Ezrescape the sith temple that he was trapped in in rebels because Palpatine put him there. Ezra freed him in season three and this takes place before rebels. Also mauls light saber is his brothers
No, Palpatine didn't put him there, he fled there at some point. Check out the comic Maul: Son of Dathomir and the first part of the Ahsoka novel to read how he escaped from Palpatine and discovered Malachor before going back to Dathomir again.
After his small part in Ahsoka, he must have built up the Crimson Dawn and relocated back to Dathomir, and we have no clue how he ended up stranded on Malachor in Rebels yet.

1) Vos' markings are not paint, they are his skin, he is "near-human" according to the Solo visual guide.
2) They won't overwrite Rebels or the Clone Wars because those are fundamentally canon (and they're fantastic series...go watch them)

Actually if you look at 6:39 his lightsaber looks almost like the one he wields in Rebels. He uses it as a cane when he meets Ezra and continues to utilize it even though he is able to fight proper.

Well, its most likely that the shaft Maul fell down was not as far of a fall that Mace Windu fell.

Mail, they had their chance with Kylo Ren in Last Jedi but they didn't make him stand out to other villains in Star Wars. And the Knights haven't been seen since Ep 7 and weren't referenced at all in Ep 8. If they showed something good about the Knights in Ep 8 I would have been more excited. No, Maul is the one I'm looking forward to the most and he can be turned into a powerful and menacing villain whilst the Knights won't be because their leader is Kylo Ren so they won't be as powerful as him therefore won't be as good as Maul. Does anyone agree or disagree I'd love to hear other people's opinions?

A lot more exciting even though kylo ren is experienced with a crossgaurd saber he just has a tantrum when he doesn’t get his own way where as with Maul he doesn’t back down and he focuses on getting revenge when he loses and also his unique style of duelling with a dual lightsaber makes him more interesting
