Thanks for the update, it's the classic Land Rover snowball effect. I'm trying to see what I can afford to put in my Disco 1 to replace the tired 200tdi, I'm hesitant to go to Td5 and I'm currently looking at fitting an American V8. There are no cheap options apparently!
Are you Danish? I am south Korean. I drive a Discovery 2 TD5 (LHD, 2004year). I had a hard time finding a Discovery 2 with ACE, TD5 and LHD. Nice to meet you. My car even has a burning heater (FBH).
I sprayed Floyd Film (wool oil, AS-360 in South Korea) on any areas on Discovery 2 that were likely to rust. I have a leak(engine oil) in the aluminum fold of my engine oil cooler so the next thing I'm going to do is replace the aluminum parts. I knew it after I saw engine oil collecting in the coolant tank.
In the UK, the (os) drivers side is nearly always more rusted than the passenger side (ns). It's always weird to me. Plus, my defender chassis at the front is still black from the shop, (1994) but the back is non-existent, hahaha.
My 91 range rover classic has a solid frame ( 300,000 miles ) my wife's 94 disco 1 has a solid frame, we also have a 96 disco 1 ( spares dept ) with a solid frame, when we looked at changing the 94 disco for a disco 2 we looked at quite a few all with rusty frames, what happened did LR cut cost and buy cheaper frames?. we did think of putting a disco 2 body on the disco 1 frame but not sure it would work, anyone found a solution to this problem, as a foot note I had a 71 RRC many years ago and that had a rotten frame as well.
happy for guys - back on the road ;-)
Great colour! Glad you’re keeping it going. Beautiful rig
Thanks!

You can never go wrong with a V8!
When you gonna restore the series in the background??

My V8 had that, I think the exhaust protects the near side chassis leg a bit but it could just be Land Rover magic.
Where can we get those mud flaps from can’t find them anywhere
What's going on with the old Series Landy's? I would like to see you take on one of those.
A couple of them are donor cars for bits we needed, and others future projects... 😊
Hi Nisse ,
What wheel rims have you got on your D2? I think they look really good.
Regards,
David Brown
