I never knew how prevalent Catholic prejudice was until I converted to Catholicism. I find myself constantly defending my choice to be Catholic and the Church constantly. Probably my penance for persecuting the Church for all those years I was Southern Baptist. But I don't regret my decision for one minute. I may have lost many worldly things, but I have gained an eternity with Jesus and the Saints.
Same here. I didn't know there was so much Catholic prejudice until I converted. Lost friends over it. But that's okay. I have Jesus and the blessed mother.
When I was in High School(back in the late 60s) I was not allowed in my High School Sweetheart's home because his Father hated Catholics. I remember thinking,"he doesn't even know me,how can he hate me?" I experienced prejudice because of my religion at a very young age. Eventually,my sweetheart broke up with me and I was devastated. My Mother told me that it wasn't what he wanted to do,but something that his parents forced him to do. Looking back, after all these years,I believe my Mother was right...
@@kathleenalex If that was the case..it seems to me to be his lose. Who wants a man that isn't willing to stand for his own principles...and more importantly..someone who is willing to defend you. Hopefully you have moved on and found yourself a good Catholic man that has given you many Catholic babies! God bless you my friend! ⚘️
I also would like to say that during my father's terrrible struggle with cancer as I was a teen, it was the local Catholic church that offered me and my family the most support and solace, before and after my Dad passed.
I am Scottish , a Catholic from a large Catholic family. This beautiful Country of mine is staunchly anti Catholic, one of the worst in the world. We are defined by bigotry, segregation and discrimination against Catholics, especially in the workforce and in sport. It is a sad reflection on those who govern us.
I understand completely. In a wonderful year in Edinburgh my wife (Episcopalian) and I (Catholic) were looked at some what askance not only because we were in a textbook ‘mixed’ marriage, but we each belonged to the ‘high churches’ respectively disliked by many Scots. Our situation was partially explained because we were Americans and we were attributed with questionable views anyway. LOL. Otherwise our time there was among the happiest in our 50 year marriage (thus far). Christmas Eve service at Grayfriar’s Kirk was simply marvelous and has remained a vivid memory all these years (decades?) since.
Catholics and Jews are not compatible with Wasp societies. Catholics came to america and worked hand in hand to undermine WASP society and now all the critical power points in society are run by catholics and jews... All Catholics go to hell.
I was working on a construction site next to a convent and when the nuns passed me they would bless me, which I found 'quite touching', they never asked if I was Catholic, I'm sure that it wouldn't have mattered to them that I am an 'Anglican'!
I’m surprised that happened since Catholics hate non-catholic Christians with a burning passion. Ironically the Bible says that anyone who hates their brother does not have the love of the Father in them.
Bobby Mc Daid Exactly We honour Mary and the saints sacrifices We should respect the pope though we might not agree with everything the pope says. We should honour Mary simply because she was chosen specifically to bear jesus. God did not choose some random woman God chose a pure woman.
Sergio Milho The child abuse scandal is over blown. On the one hand we have real evil that seeks to seperate people from the Church and the sacraments by tearing down the priesthood. On the other hand a child is much, much more likely to be abused by a blended family member, a public school teacher, a coach, a neighbor, or a medical professional than a priest. But a priest is counter-cultural, politically incorrect, and an easier target. Intelligent and honest people can do the math.
liar! The Mexican catholics pray and venerate Mary. Do you own a rosary? Pray 53 hail maries? Then you are practicing paganism idolatry and necromancy!
Bishop Robert Barron is BOTH a Catholic AND a bona fide Christian; although not Catholic myself, I have a very high regard for preachers such as him, and the Catholic Church!
Mark Palka, 2 Years ago you left a real positive message about the Catholic Church, about Bishop Barron. That is very refreshing when many run the Church down. You sound like a very confident individual. Even though not Catholic, you respect Catholics and the Church. Great message!
Im a catholic and experience it every day.I was called an idolator a satanst its hogwash garbage by fkn protestants. Prots dont realise theyre called protestants bc they protest the church tje one true apostolic catholic church established by chrsit himself.
My cousin is a former Catholic and he told many times to leave the Catholic faith because he claims its corrupt and evil and the priests too. But I told him many times I will never leave the faith. He said some unkind things about the Catholic faith. But I dismissed what he said. Now people who are Anti Catholics, say what you like about the Catholic faith but I will not leave the faith.
God bless you Allen. Stay strong in your faith. One thing that has worked for me in such conversations is to simply ask them for facts and references. You will notice that their accusations are very broad sweeping and very general in nature. The minute you ask for facts and the study these facts you will find they don't hold water.
energie00 It's true. There's another member in my family who is a former Catholic. My older brother. Whenever i bring up the Catholic faith, he ignores me. And he hates when I'm being righteous. I'm simply trying to set a good example to him and to his son. But rest assured, I will not give up.
Jesus Christ has ONE HEAD & ONE BODY- “the Church” (Eph 1:22-23 Eph 4:4-6. Jesus does not have ONE HEAD and 39,000+ different bodies & growing divisions. Jesus Christ has only ONE BODY & ONE BRIDE. Jesus Christ established & prayed for HIS ONE CHURCH/BRIDE in John 17:21-23 before giving all of Himself in sacrifice to His ONE BRIDE as “the Bridegroom” (Isaiah 61:10, John 3:29, Matthew 9:15, Matthew 25:6-13, Mark 2:19, Luke 5:34-35).
Hey Tim those who glorify God will be hounded by the devil. The devil does not rest; he is after the holy. I think you should read the bible on how the devil tried to tempt Jesus. Any wonder why the devil leaves you alone. There is not much the devil needs to do with you; you are already doing 100% devil's work by trolling of Catholic sites, persecuting God's Church, blaspheming .oh & your burning hatred for Catholics. The ignition comes straight from the coal fires in hell.
Growing up, I didn't realize there was such thing as anti-Catholic prejudice until, as a young man, I witnessed it when people didn't know I was Catholic. What a shock! Disturbing actually... the misconceptions! Made me realize how people from other religions and cultures must feel sometimes...
Fr. Barron is one of the most intelligent priests I've come across and watching his videos actually played a huge part in my converting to Catholicism, for that I thank him. I suggest that everyone check out his other videos, his commentaries are very informative.
i dont need human commentary for God to teach me! Yahshua said He will send the Holy spirit of God, not a human comforter or teacher. That is your problem, ypu cant think on your own you rely on sinners to teach you? Not wise at all!
He said that to his Apostles, not to throngs of people following him. The Protestant reformers taught this, and there are now 1000's of different "Christian" religions all teaching different doctrines. This doesn't quite work does it?
All my life I have been persecuted for being Catholic. From my earliest years I was constrained by the anti Catholic establishment. That means, restrictions on where you could be educated and later where you could work and what position you could hold in society. I am from Scotland and my country is the United Kingdom, yet I cannot be the PM, DPM or King, being Catholic automatically prohibits you from those positions. Institutional and constitutional bigotry, hatred as well as subjugation is prolific. But that all changes if you give up your faith and become a transgender LGBT supporter or activist. Christ Suffered for us and He told us, the world hates me and so shall they hate you too! Keep the Faith and pray for your enemies, never be subjugated and never lose heart. After years of trying and very many prayers I worked internationally, particularly for American companies and attained high office within those organisations. I would never have got passed first base in any British Company because of my background. Therefore, in my experience you really don't have it that bad. I am not saying it's not difficult, but everything is relative. Keep the Faith and Trust in Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Yes i know. i am gay and a new catholic. I try the best i can to balance out both identies as i can. but i very quickly found out that as a Young gay man convert to the catholic faith ( despite there are many gay catholics) we are villified by the gay community and rejected from a community that preaches tollerince and acceptance. and on the other hand you have many Good catholics getting up in your buissness and droning on and on about how celibacy is a gift to you and they gush as if being (Born like this) is allmost a gift bec. Chastidy is Virtually enforced on you, wether you want it or not. Good Catholics they really have no idea . Anyway i guess what i am trying to say is yes i agree with you. following Christ is never easey. but if you are faithfull and ut him above all else and keep him in mind all will be well and you get your just rewards.
Great to have Bishop Barron standing up to the rapacious anti-catholic lobby. He says what l feel yet is always gracious, hurt as l feel hurt but never lashes out. I and countless faithful Catholics feel grateful to have such a champion. Thank you. I love and appreciate you. God bless you and give you strength to continue your defence of the faith we all share in Jesus. I know He blesses and loves you so much, as do all grateful Catholics who see your courageous, gentle and articulate presentations.
All these people here saying that Catholicism is evil and wrong... Why would Satan be trying so much harder to lead Catholics astray (all the scandals, for instance) if they didn't belong to God's one true Church? Otherwise he wouldn't even have to bother. Not looking for an argument, just wondering why nobody else seems to have thought of this.
chef william Gibson That isn't true, you should do actual research before spewing nonsense. The Catholic church has not killed 50-100million people. The entire population of Europe during the inquisition era was 90million only. So by your statistics the church killed all of Europe lol. Also you should look into what the context of not calling someone father means. Because one of the commandments is "honor your FATHER and mother". This is the issue with not knowing context of scripture. Also you say the catholic church is evil but who's the ones accepting gay marriage and wedding gay couples? Protestant churches. Also protestant pastors are rolling around in nice cars and mansions telling their congregations to give to their ministry and God will bless them financially. Also in protestant churches it's watered down. It's all mushy gushy about the relationship with Christ except on everyones own terms, not actually how you would have one with the most High God. Drinking coffee and getting all amped up to concert style songs and bands is nice and all but you really think that's what true worship to God is? You should look into the writings of the early Christians, like Ignatious.
@ Kenneth Franchino TWO WRONGS DON'T MAKE catholic cultists ! RIGHT! ww1 ww2 all most all other wars catholics are to blame ....next you will say the church doesn't have an army ,but they manipulate leader with the one of military arms of the catholic cult the jesuits who have been thrown out of most countries only to show up some where else 70 % of catholic priests have aids ,the cult is emplodieng!
chef william Gibson I'm not going to continue this any further because you're just stating nonsense. Hitler hated the catholic church and Christians in general. Many were thrown into concentration camps for protecting Jews and not swearing complete allegiance to Hitler. Also ww1 was caused by the assassination of Duke Ferdinand of Austria by a Serbian nationalist and then due to the alliance system other nations all sided with either Serbia or Austriohungary. You seem to have this blind hatred towards the catholic church to the point where you're believing nonsense. The church didn't kill 100million people. Like I said, the population of Europe wasnt even 100million at those times. Also at the council of nicea in 325AD the catholic church put the bible together so you're welcome for that. And it was Martin Luther actually who took out the deutercanoncle books and even wanted to take out the book of James. You need to do actual research, not get into from websites that hate the church and speak a bunch of nonsense. Also read the writings of the early Christians and you'll see that the catholic church truly is the church from the beginning.
@ Patrick Saxon AS A HAVEN FOR PEDIPHILLIA .... The catholic church is evil and wrong, because the catholic faith is not christian.aND THEY ARE MORE PAGAN THAN ANY OTHER GROUP EXCEPT WITCH CRAFT ....WHICH IS FINDABLE IN MANY ASPECTS OF THE catholic"church".
Dear Protestants, Please come and feel the real presence of the Lord Jesus Christ in the eucharist, like Jesus commanded. John 6:54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
To people who are prejudice about the Catholics no matter what Fr.Barron will explain to you about the teachings of the Catholic faith because you are prejudice you will always find fault. Jesus Christ did not tell his apostles that his church will be perfect because it is going to be lead by imperfect human beings starting from the 12 apostles they are sinners too. Find any church that is perfect or did not commit any sin. Also to the lady that do not understand the gospel is that every Catholic is to study the Bible, read the teachings of the great fathers of the church. To love & serve God is to know him. .
***** Catholics are born again the Bible way. | Jesus answered and said to him (Nicodemus), “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God." Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born, can he?” Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of WATER and the SPIRIT he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. (John 3:3-5) | How do we get born again? By water and spirit. God begins new things with water and spirit. In the first to verses of the Bible it said, "In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth, and the Earth was formless and void, and the WATER covered the surface of the deep, and the SPIRIT of God hovered over the waters." That was the world's CREATION. In the Jews' mind, Noah is the second Adam because God wiped out the Earth and started it over again. What is hovering over the Ark with an olive branch in it's mouth? A dove, which represents the Holy Spirit of God. With the Ark hovering over the water, with a dove over top. The Earth was BORN AGAIN. God renews with WATER AND SPIRIT. This isn't made up, because in (1 Peter 3:18-21) it says, "when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through the water. Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you" In Exodus, the Pharaoh persecutes the Christians. Pharaoh represents the Devil, Egypt represents the world, and slavery represents sin. These are the three enemies of the Christian, the Devil, the world, and sin. God delivers the Israelites with the Passover lamb then takes them through the Red Sea. They go up through the WATER, and what is on top of them leading the way? A pillar of fire by night and a pillar of cloud by day. The Holy SPIRIT of God over the WATER. God saves them from the enemy, and what is the new thing He starts? The nation of Israel. Every time God starts something, it is with WATER AND SPIRIT. In (Ezekiel 36:25) it says, "I will sprinkle you with clean WATER. I will put a new SPIRIT within you. For what purpose? That you may obey my laws." The New Covenant will look like WATER AND SPIRIT. Jesus was baptized by John and He went down into the WATER, and the SPIRIT came down. Jesus goes into Jerusalem, and everybody goes down to go to see John. Everyone knew he had gone into the WATER and that the SPIRIT had come down. Baptism is how we are born again, and baptism is the initial initiation into the Catholic Church. | ‘Now why do you delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name.’ | (Acts 22:16) We are born by water and spirit my friend.
***** I just quoted from the Bible. I pray multiple times daily, thanking Him for what blessings I have received. Before you judge something you do not know about, I politely ask you please look at this from a non-biased perspective. I have looked at both sides and I still have found the Catholic Church to be most truthful. Best of all, the promise of eternal life is a gift, freely offered to us by God (CCC 1727). Our initial forgiveness and justification are not things we "earn" (CCC 2010). Jesus is the mediator who bridged the gap of sin that separates us from God (1 Tim. 2:5); he bridged it by dying for us. He has chosen to make us partners in the plan of salvation (1 Cor. 3:9). The Catholic Church teaches what the apostles taught and what the Bible teaches: We are saved by grace alone, but not by faith alone (which is what "Bible Christians" teach; see Jas. 2:24). When we come to God and are justified (that is, enter a right relationship with God), nothing preceding justification, whether faith or good works, earns grace. But then God plants his love in our hearts, and we should live out our faith by doing acts of love (Gal. 6:2). Even though only God’s grace enables us to love others, these acts of love please him, and he promises to reward them with eternal life (Rom. 2:6-7, Gal. 6:6-10). Thus good works are meritorious. When we first come to God in faith, we have nothing in our hands to offer him. Then he gives us grace to obey his commandments in love, and he rewards us with salvation when we offer these acts of love back to him (Rom. 2:6-11, Gal. 6:6-10, Matt. 25:34-40). Jesus said it is not enough to have faith in him; we also must obey his commandments. "Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ but do not do the things I command?" (Luke 6:46, Matt. 7:21-23, 19:16-21). We do not "earn" our salvation through good works (Eph. 2:8-9, Rom. 9:16), but our faith in Christ puts us in a special grace-filled relationship with God so that our obedience and love, combined with our faith, will be rewarded with eternal life (Rom. 2:7, Gal. 6:8-9). Paul said, "God is the one who, for his good purpose, works in you both to desire and to work" (Phil. 2:13). John explained that "the way we may be sure that we know him is to keep his commandments. Whoever says, ‘I know him,’ but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him" (1 John 2:3-4, 3:19-24, 5:3-4). Since no gift can be forced on the recipient-gifts always can be rejected-even after we become justified, we can throw away the gift of salvation. We throw it away through grave (mortal) sin (1 John 5:16, Rom. 11:22-23, 1 Cor. 15:1-2; CCC 1854-1863). Paul tells us, "The wages of sin is death" (Rom. 6:23). Read his letters and see how often Paul warned Christians against sin! He would not have felt compelled to do so if their sins could not exclude them from heaven (see, for example, 1 Cor. 6:9-10, Gal. 5:19-21). Paul reminded the Christians in Rome that God "will repay everyone according to his works: eternal life for those who seek glory, honor, and immortality through perseverance in good works, but wrath and fury to those who selfishly disobey the truth and obey wickedness" (Rom. 2:6-8). Sins are nothing but evil works (CCC 1849-1850). We can avoid sins by habitually performing good works. Every saint has known that the best way to keep free from sins is to embrace regular prayer, the sacraments (the Eucharist first of all), and charitable acts.
***** The Bible isn't Satan's lies. It is God's Word. I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into Hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen. As Christians we are taught to spread the Gospel. If you believe what you believe is true, then why do you not share it with me? Please, answer me instead of simply avoiding the Scripture passages I have offered you. You and I both know that the Bible is God's divinely inspired Word. If you do not agree with what I have shown you from Scripture, why is that? It's just a simple discussion that I would like to have with a fellow Christian. Brother, please reply using Scripture if possible.
A reading of history is necessary before condemning Catholicism. Now every 300 sentences in Bible are given a new interpretation giving birth to a new church every ten years. Catholic church debates ideas for decades/centuries before making any changes in dogma
My Catholic church here in Cambridge UK is full of people from all over the world. I feel so proud that we have all creeds here and I know we are God`s family. I love the fact we have people from Africa, India, Asia , etc. No other church in the world can do this this, only the true church, The Catholic church ! Discimination is real and I know that coming from an Irish Catholic family. Anti Catholic predudice is still here today and comes from a sense of regret that they broke away from the true church, they know it. Saying that there are amazing priest`s like Rowan Williams ( Anglican) who is a true man of God and is above the negative politics that exsist and I consider him a Catholic priest in all truth.
Thank you Father for this wonderful video. I was raised in a Protestant Church, The Evangelical and Reformed (which is no more) which was anti Catholic but not nearly anti Catholic as many other Denominations. I became Catholic when I was 27 after going to Mass with a Catholic who asked me to. There when I was not going up for the Eucharist as I was Protestant Jesus asked me 3 times, "Al, would you refuse me?" and soon after that I became Catholic. I just say that to share my Protestant background. I think the anti Catholic prejudice stems from when the Protestants broke away from the Catholic Church and the incredible hostility at that time between the 2 groups which continues. Also at about the same time the philosophy of materialism began to take precedence in the country and is confirmed by the fact that materialistic science has attained religious status in this country and all of the Western world. The rituals of the Mass are seen as nonsense as also the Spiritual world is seen as nonsense.
I am a Catholic from India. I have seen Hindu's do Earth worship before laying foundation of a new house. And the ladies they made obeisance before a stone. The belief is that the priest has invoked a spirit in the stone. And I always thought if they can believe that surely the spirit of Jesus can be invoked to reside in a piece of bread. The beliefs are parallel. There is a similarity between the two practices and beliefs.
Albert, I like you was raised Lutheran but it took me much longer, I was drawn to the Catholic church but it took me to the age of 56 before I became Catholic . I have to say that I now know the beauty and grace that God gives us at Mass. I used to go to church not on a regular basis but I would go when I felt the need. I cannot even imagine that now, I never miss Mass unless I am extremely ill. I look forward to going to Mass the beauty of being with God in his church is one thing but as you said the wonderful feeling of receiving Christ's Body and Blood in the Eucharist is so amazing it is beyond what I can explain. I do have to say though that since I have become Catholic I for the first time have experienced Catholic prejudice and it shocks me. From family that asks, "Why Catholic for heaven sakes?" I try to explain but I fear I don't do it justice, Oh if they only knew.
Fr. Barron, I just saw that you are now a bishop! Congratulations. I love your video series, Catholicism. Could you please make a follow up series which includes many other beautiful aspects? You and are Scott Hahn are my two favorite Catholic Evangelists! Keep up the good work!
Fr. Barron, despite the fact that I don't agree with a lot of things you said, I still highly respected you and I have learned a lot from you. Thank you.
I find it interesting that a lot of Protestants assume that Catholics worship the Pope. To make matters clear, Catholics do not and are discouraged from worshiping saints, the Pope, or the Apostles. Such action is considered in the Church to be heretical and missing the point entirely. It is one thing to ask for them to pray for you (which all Christians, both Catholic and Protestant, do often) it is quite another to prostrate yourself and pray TO the saints. Which is common in the cult of Santeria, which declares itself separate from Christianity and Catholicism entirely. Secondly, it is okay to disagree with the Pope so long as such teachings and ideas do not fly in the face of Christian teaching and Catholic Cannon i.e. reincarnation, deification of planet Earth etc. So, to sum it all up, Catholics are not the Pope's personal army of marching yes men", I hope this clears things up for you, Allen Maurer.
@ Forrest Henry catholics are the roman empire 313 constatine and they created the "church" with documents stolen from true CHRISTIANS who they murdered for 2000 or so years! To this day! The reformers followed the closest thing to KING JESUS THEY COULD! The roman catholics rebel against GOD and still murder!DENY deny DENY ,cover up the molestation of children.pick on some one else or get slammed for who you really are a cult of pagans heathens war mongers reprobates and satanist!
chef william Gibson your not going to scare us into converting to your false religion by "threating "us with your 500 year old excuses because we heard it all
@ CONFEDERATE CATHOLIC at no point would I think you would be afraid ,You don't fear GOD! Your on the road to perdition. And it is just so sad that you will be with satan for eternity .I wish we all could be with KING JESUS at the wedding banquet! After murdering your way though some FIFTY MILLION TRUE CHRISTIANS I HAVE VERY little hope that any of you will be saved.Catholic 'priests are 70 % more likely to contract and die from aids. That is here and now a living hell!If you have no fear of that then I can't hope to help you!
It makes things really easy for the anti Catholics when our current President is “Catholic.” If evangelicals realized they had lots in common with real Catholics on virtually all social issues then there would be some reconciliation. I find it really ironic however to have two bible thumping uncles who were both baptized Catholic, now evangelicals, be vitriolic and accusatory towards my family for our faith when I have never discriminated an evangelical in my life. I don’t understand why they don’t like us.
I saw ur Catholicism series 6 it made me cry it was so beautiful as a person who can't drive in a car or bus the internet helps but the picture and the film was beautiful my sister who use to be Catholic loved it also Thank you for opening my mind even further
There is some historical precedent for the continuing ‘anti-popism’. Of the original 13 colonies, only three had freedom of religion: Pennsylvania, started by a Quaker; Rhode Island, started by a Protestant; and Maryland started by a Catholic. Several of the Southern States -VA, the Carolinas, Georgia were staunchly Episcopalian / Anglican. Massachusetts was ‘Puritan’ having grievances against Episcopalian as well Catholicism. There was a relatively short time between HenryVIII and the founding of the American colonies so the memories of those religious wars, Mary, Queen of Scots, the destruction or conversion of Catholic Churches and Cathedrals and xo on remained vibrant. The continuation of the denigrating term WASP - white Anglo-Saxon Protestant - lingered / lingers into the present. It occurs to me that the two examples you so brilliantly discuss are but a continuation of a subtle but prevalent thread in our history. To be sure ‘anti-papism’ resides elsewhere but it seems more egregious here in the land of the 1st Amendment.
Fr. Robert is so right regarding gay marriage. I have spoken out against it before and been thrown under a truck for it. It's too bad you can't make people see that just because you don't support gay marriage doesn't mean you are homophobic.
Thank you Father Barron, for raising this issue the is weaved sometimes under the surface, sometimes out in the open through out our history. Happily some very famous people have pushed back including out first President, no catholic but a man of conscious, although blind in other areas.
All these hateful comments,...are you walking down the path of a true Christian? Down the path of righteousness? Indeed you are not. Perhaps all you who oppose the Catholic Church should start a church based off your own personal interpretation of scripture. Then when one of your flock disagrees with your teachings then he or she shall go and start their own church based off their interpretation. It's a revolving door with every Protestant Church that continues to divide the true Christian faith into more and more disunity.
Daniel Pan Dont you agree that the priests that rape children never come forward and confess their sins? its not until the victims come forward 20 yrs later and they get busted and they still deny it,doesnt that contradict the holiness of the church? number 1-they want the flock to confess their sins yet the priests themselves do not and 2- its not a one off, hundreds of priests get busted yearly but NONE came forward, the victims did......
Daniel Pan Im so confused about different protocol in churchs- why cant they just adhere to the bible and thats it- you say- ''One is centered in the Sacrifice offered to God the Father to appease His justice and the other is centered on sermons of the pastor''- Jesus did say when there is division, a church cannot stand- due to lack of unity in teachings- i know of catholics that still go to church yet they dont believe in many of the teachings-some priests support gay marriage, there is a priest recently in crossfire on the news for doing so- all these religions are in a religious confusion! tradition and customs and just mans ego in general cause it to be so!!!!!
Daniel Pan Dan,i commend you for your kind and patient replies- Please forgive me,i may of missed it along the way in your comment, but are you catholic? what made you leave the protestant church? as regards to your question- 2 timothy 3;16,17 says ""ALL"" scripture is inspired by God- You cant really reason or conclude why or if God removed certain books or rejected certain scripture- God is a God of order- he wouldn't waste time getting scribes to write with excruciating accuracy then choose not to include them- do you personally think there are books that should not have been included? what prompted you to ask me this specific question?...
Thank you Father. Can you imagine the outrage and disbelief he would have stirred if he had said that he wanted the Baptists or Methodists (or any other group) out of "his" state? I can't believe the good people of New York are taking this sitting down- it's so sad to see it! All Christians need to stand up to this kind of injustice- because which group will be next? Stand up now people, or lose your freedom forever. Pete D.---
in 2022, prejudice has spread to everywhere. Tribalism is rampant in the US and Europe. If you are not with us, you're against us. That is the culture we live in.
I'm a protestant that is thinking about joining the catholic church. But all I hear on the calvinst and baptist etc videos is how Catholics are going to hell etc etc. But they say that about many of their own protestant brothers because they don't believe how they do. That's mainly the reason I want to leave Protestantism is the division. But I also dont want to do something against what God wants me to do. I need prayers to point me in the right direction.
Many convert to the One True Church just before they die.... But we never see anyone joining another church in the same situation. "Where else can we go Lord; you alone have the words of eternal life" Saint Peter's words...
I was not a practicing Catholic for a long time, not because of public pressure but of my own free will, which turned out to be a bad decision on my part. Anyway, during that time, when I would refer to myself as a lapsed or "recovering" Catholic I would hear all sorts of anti-Catholic rhetoric, everything from we are all a bunch of idolater's worshiping statues to we are a cult who bow to Rome and pray to dead people. The most disturbing anti-Catholic noise comes from the doomsday types who claim the Pope is the Anti-Christ and the Beast is the Catholic Church. I never put any stock in any of that nonsense but I should have defended the faith better than I did. I will now. It's nice to be home and I'm never leaving again.
Protestant Christians treat the teachings of Christ like all-you-can-eat buffet where you can pick and choose the parts of Christianity which you like and disregard the parts you don't. Now I know why people that were once Catholic convert to Protestantism, it's easy worship. The way I see it, you either believe ALL the teachings of Christ or none at all. With a Protestant Christian if they don't like their denomination they'll just jump ship and go to another of over 30,000 denominations. They can be "worship" conveniently all while coming off as "followers" of Christ.
Well said, Father Barron! For what it's worth, here's a combination book review/op-ed piece I wrote on the same subject which the Charlotte Observer saw fit to publish in its entirety a few years ago: THE NEW ANTI-CATHOLICISM: THE LAST ACCEPTABLE PREJUDICE, by Philip Jenkins Anti-Catholicism is “the deepest bias in the history of the American people.” - Arthur Schlesinger Sr. If you’re a Catholic, perhaps you’ve been confronted by a scene similar to this: In the checkout line of my local supermarket, a silver-haired gentleman in a tweed jacket strikes up a conversation to pass the time. He is a retired English professor, I learn. In the course of the conversation, I happen to let it drop that I’m a convert to Catholicism. Suddenly, his demeanor changes. “I believe the Catholic Church is the most evil institution in the history of Western civilization,” he says. “It is a religion for third-world people, full of ignorance and superstition.” Then, the coup de grace: “How could you join an institution that has bred those hideous creatures, the pedophile priests?” Having grown up a W.A.S.P., I had never been on the receiving end of such textbook bigotry. So I couldn’t help wondering: What could possibly cause someone of this man’s intellectual caliber to consider such behavior acceptable? And why are different shades of the same prejudice so widely tolerated throughout American culture---from the universities to the news media to the arts? Perhaps no author has written a more meticulously researched and elegantly reasoned explanation than Philip Jenkins, Distinguished Professor at Penn State. (Jenkins left the Church in the 1980s “without any particular rancor” to become an Episcopalian.) To begin with, Jenkins explains, anti-Catholicism is a hoary American tradition- our republic was principally a Protestant creation, after all. He posits that historically, this “last acceptable prejudice” has reared its ugly head in America in two major waves: a) The older anti-Catholicism, which was a 19th century working-class phenomenon, prevalent among nativists. b) The new anti-Catholicism, which is largely a disease of the cultural elite and has grown in virulence ever since the issuance of Humanae Vitae in 1968, the papal encyclical rejecting birth control. Until this watershed moment, Jenkins notes, American liberalism and Catholicism marched shoulder to shoulder in many noble causes: in support of labor unions, the civil rights movement and welfare programs; against capital punishment and war. Interestingly, none of the church’s stances on these matters have changed. What has changed since the ‘60s, Jenkins makes clear, is American liberalism, which has increasingly become obsessed with abortion, gender issues, contraception and gay rights. It is the church’s refusal to bend on these matters which has made her the object of so much vituperation. To be sure, with their almost criminal mishandling of the child sex abuse scandals, some in the hierarchy have given the church’s enemies ample ammunition with which to bloody her. But it is in his deft treatment of this emotionally-charged matter that Jenkins renders perhaps his greatest service: helping to distinguish between legitimate criticism and outright bigotry. “[I]t is quite legitimate to attack an individual or an institution, even if these are religious in nature. It is a quite different matter to say that some essential features of that religion give rise to evil or abuse and that the evil cannot be prevented without fundamentally changing the beliefs or practices of the religion.” It might surprise some readers - including some Catholics - that criticism of corrupt clergymen is actually a venerable Catholic tradition. (For proof, read Dante’s Inferno.) Thus, most thinking Catholics have no real quarrel with the Boston Globe’s laudable work on the New England scandals. What Catholics find reprehensible is the lack of context and proportionality in so many stories reported by the major media. For example, have you ever read in this newspaper that 70 incidences of child sexual abuse are reported [BEGIN ITALICS] every week [END ITALICS] in America’s Protestant churches? (Most of the alleged abusers are not clergy or staff, but church volunteers. Cf. Christian Science Monitor, April 5, 2002) It might also surprise you that pedophilia is just as prevalent among married men as it is among celibate priests. (Jenkins’ estimation of the percentage of American priests guilty of abuse is 2 to 3%.) Yet the media have given the impression that child sexual abuse is a uniquely Roman Catholic problem, rather than a catholic or universal one. Here’s Jenkins on why this occurred: “[T]he disproportionate reaction to the clergy abuse issue, the suggestions of pervasive criminality, cannot be understood except as a reflection of accumulated political grievances over other issues, often involving sexuality and gender. Every interest group with an axe to grind now used the ‘pedophile crisis’ as the grounds for unrestrained frontal attacks on …fundamental aspects of Catholic belief.” But the American media’s regrettable treatment of the scandals is only a small part of Jenkins’ remarkable book. He shines a light on other wellsprings of anti-Catholic bigotry as well. In the chapters entitled “The Church Hates Women” and “The Church Kills Gays,” he shows how disagreements with the church’s doctrines are consistently escalated into broader anti-Catholic attacks. (A classic example: When in 1992 the Church spoke out against gay rights legislation, The Nation headlined its report “Pope Backs Hate Crimes.”) And in his chapter “Black Legends” Jenkins exposes the “facts” that everyone seemingly “knows” about historical events like the Crusades and the Inquisition for what they are: mostly gross distortions or lies. He concludes with this sobering reflection: “Anti-Catholic sentiment may simply be too deeply entrenched to eliminate in a decade or a lifetime, but this does not mean that it should simply be ignored. The greatest single achievement might be to acknowledge its existence and to treat it as a form of prejudice quite as pernicious as any other…In the news media especially, it would be wonderful if writers dealing with Catholic themes would examine their work just long enough to see if they were recycling ancient stereotypes, in much the same way they should if writing about Jews, blacks, or other…groups. Otherwise, Catholics will continue to be subjected to a particularly blatant double standard.”
2 points: First, I've always given justice Sotomayor the benefit of the doubt; even when certain right-wing priests went ranty/nutty at her appointment. Her record has consistently shown herself to be very unbiased and extremely rational in her thought-process, regardless of who appointed her. Second, anti-Catholicism is as American as apple pie.
I converted to Catholicism when I was 17, with my mother's permission. I knew all about anti-Catholic prejudice because my own father was entrenched in it. But my family moved into town when my father had cancer and couldn't keep up our farm, and some of our neighbors were Catholic. Then my best friend was Catholic and my family grew close to my friend's family....and so knowing Catholics as regular people, made a big difference in my family.
I believe that the Catholic Church is the fullness of the one, holy catholic and apostolic Church. Yet, I also see in America the rise of a form of Catholicism that is heretical (in the true sense of the word: picking and choosing certain emphases from among the whole apostolic faith, to the exclusion or denial of the rest) and could eventually become a schism -- an American Catholic Church. The central issues will of course initially be moral ones (principally, the definition and sanctity of human life; the nature of marriage). These central issues will reveal a broad schism between secularist naturalists and those who believe in a transcendent God and His victorious Kingdom.

No no no, Fr. Barron, you don't understand, you need to "get with the programme" as our Prime Minister told us here in the UK....... Whats that, your conscience wont let you....oh dear, no place for people who think like you then in the public sector and you better keep your views to yourself or things might get "difficult" for you. St Thomas More, pray for us that like you we do not "get with the programme" but remain truthful to our faith and conscience.
Bishop Barron is absolutely correct in his analysis. Perhaps, we should remind those who would denigrate Catholics of the Gospel of John 15:12 when Jesus said, “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”
John said to him, “Teacher, we saw a man casting out demons in your name, and we forbade him, because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not forbid him; for no one who does a mighty work in my name will be able soon after to speak evil of me. For he that is not against us is for us” (Mark 9:38-40). I may not see eye to eye with my fellow Christians on everything, but like the man that cast out demons in Jesus name that had a different knowledge of Jesus, I see my Catholic family in Christ do mighty work for The Kingdom in the name of "our" Lord and Savior.
Great video! I would love to see you have a conversation with Dawkins or someone of similar ilk. It doesn't necessarily have to be a debate. Just a frank conversation. Is anything like that in the works?
90% of the time when you hear the first amendment to the constitution cited, it's referred to as "separation of church and state" as it forbids laws that 'respect establishments of religion', but it then says 'or prohibiting the free exercise thereof'. It could just as easily be called the amendment protecting religion from the state instead of separating religion from the state. It's analagous to when people say the the government is funding a program or group of people just because it doesn't take away as much taxes as it could. Not taking something away is not the same as giving something. Not taking away someone's rights is not the same as granting them new rights.
lets turn to the blessed mother and ask for her intercession pray the rosery and never give up hope love always and trust in god always amen please pray and remember the persercuted christians that are being killled has iam writing this day all those in iraqu may we stop this viololence with love not hate with faith and pray for the conversion of hearts and minds that all those who are persercuting see there selfs that are wrong in what they are doing like st paul on his way to damacus when jesus said to st paul saul saul way are yoy persercuing me pray pray pray for peace
@@byronhamilton8021 It's difficult to start. From the concepts of original sin to Marian veneration to women's position in society to confession to LGBTQ treatment and everything inbetween. 1950s Ireland might be an example of a Catholic "Sharia" state. A great example of why religion should always be controlled by secular sociey not vice versa. Fortunately Eire is a different country now.
This video popped up on my TH-cam feed today, and although he made this video over 4 years ago, it is very relevant today with the current SCOTUS nomination.
It's not anti-Catholic when it's true. Catholicism views on homosexuality, abortion, celibacy, and contraception cause more suffering and pain worldwide than any other institution. I'm a Catholic. My biological father was a Catholic priest. Trust me when I say I know these things. To me the real victims are people like Fr. Barron. A good man who isn't wise enough to see that he dedicated his life to a worthless cause is a pitiable, and doesn't deserve my contempt. I hope he finds the intelligence to not take societal views on Catholicism personally. We don't have enough anti-Catholic voices to be honest. Those are the voices that ring true and righteous in my heart.
@@chefwilliamgibson8102 where is your proof . Or it’s just Protestant anti catholic probaganda . Do u know how many people Protestants killed in Africa n else where while they were colonizing the world . Please
Disturbing sure is the right word to use when it comes to how Catholic prejudices is lightly used! What happen to respect, every ones believes, faith and the right to chose our religion. (Freedom to religion).
My friend is Catholic but sadly all of her sisters have left the Catholic church and now attend anti-Catholic Protestant churches. The biggest hater is one of her sister's and brother-in-law. For years they attended a Protestant church, then other Protestant churches and now they do religion at home. All they do is watch anti-Catholic videos, read anti-Catholic books, befriend anti-Catholics, etc. They are constantly sending anti-Catholic links to my friend. My friend went to go visit them last month and all they did was attack her Catholic faith. They keep attacking the Catholic church thinking she will leave like the other sisters did but she just becomes stronger in her faith. And that pisses them off.
Ephesians 2:8 for by grace are ye saved by faith, it is a gift of God, NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast.". Paul in Acts is asked "what shall we do to be saved", and Paul replied "believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shall be saved" believe and put all your trust in the Lord.
Show me where in the Catechism, the official teaching of the Catholic Church, does it teach that we can “work” our way into Heaven? You can’t, because it doesn’t. The Catholic Church does not now, nor has it ever, taught a doctrine of salvation by works...that we can “work” our way into Heaven. Second, show me where in the Bible does it teach that we are saved by “faith alone.” You can’t, because it doesn’t. The only place in all of Scripture where the phrase “Faith Alone” appears, is in James...James 2:24, where it says that we are not...not...justified (or saved) by faith alone. So, one of the two main pillars of Protestantism...the doctrine of salvation by faith alone...not only doesn’t appear in the Bible, but the Bible actually says the exact opposite - that we are not saved by faith alone. If works have nothing to do with salvation...how come so many passages in the N.T. that talk about judgment say we will be judged by our works, not by whether or not we have faith alone?
Rom 2, Matthew 15 and 16, 1 Ptr 1, Rev 20 and 22, 2 Cor 5, and many, many more verses. why does 1 Cor 13:13 say that love is greater than faith? Shouldn’t it be the other way around? As Catholics we believe that we are saved by God’s grace alone. We can do nothing, apart from God’s grace, to receive the free gift of salvation. We also believe, however, that we have to respond to God’s grace. Protestants believe that, too. However, many Protestants believe that the only response necessary is an act of faith; whereas, Catholics believe a response of faith and works is necessary.
Rome does teach works salvation, it's called sacraments, and the idea of praying people out of the Roman lesser hell called purgatory. Also James in his epistle is speaking in the eyes of man. Roman 4:1-9 clearly, says no one is justified by works in the eyes of God. Jesus said to "build treasures in heaven", those treasures are the works all believers will receive. All will receive according to their works. Salvation is by grace through faith. Romans 4 says "he that worketh not, but believeth on him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted for rightousness" it's not only talking about "the law", like some deluded folks would say, because it mentions Abraham who walked with God by faith long before the law.
Your same authoritative cathetism teaches anyone can go to heaven, and are judged by their "conscience". Scripture says Jesus Christ, and faith in him is the only way. Do Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Buddhist, or Catholicism teach Jesus is the only way? No. Your "cathetism" teaches that they don't believe the bible, in fact it's completely contrary to it..............“841 The Church’s relationship with the Muslims. “The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind’s judge on the last day.”330 842 The Church’s bond with non-Christian religions is in the first place the common origin and end of the human race: All nations form but one community. This is so because all stem from the one stock which God created to people the entire earth, and also because all share a common destiny, namely God. His providence, evident goodness, and saving designs extend to all against the day when the elect are gathered together in the holy city. . . .331 843 The Catholic Church recognizes in other religions that search, among shadows and images, for the God who is unknown yet near since he gives life and breath and all things and wants all men to be saved. Thus, the Church considers all goodness and truth found in these religions as “a preparation for the Gospel and given by him who enlightens all men that they may at length have life.”332 844 In their religious behavior, however, men also display the limits and errors that disfigure the image of God in them: Very often, deceived by the Evil One, men have become vain in their reasonings, and have exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and served the creature rather than the Creator. Or else, living and dying in this world without God, they are exposed to ultimate despair.333 845 To reunite all his children, scattered and led astray by sin, the Father willed to call the whole of humanity together into his Son’s Church. The Church is the place where humanity must rediscover its unity and salvation. The Church is “the world reconciled.” She is that bark which “in the full sail of the Lord’s cross, by the breath of the Holy Spirit, navigates safely in this world.” According to another image dear to the Church Fathers, she is prefigured by Noah’s ark, which alone saves from the flood.334 “Outside the Church there is no salvation” 846 How are we to understand this affirmation, often repeated by the Church Fathers?335 Re-formulated positively, it means that all salvation comes from Christ the Head through the Church which is his Body: Basing itself on Scripture and Tradition, the Council teaches that the Church, a pilgrim now on earth, is necessary for salvation: the one Christ is the mediator and the way of salvation; he is present to us in his body which is the Church. He himself explicitly asserted the necessity of faith and Baptism, and thereby affirmed at the same time the necessity of the Church which men enter through Baptism as through a door. Hence they could not be saved who, knowing that the Catholic Church was founded as necessary by God through Christ, would refuse either to enter it or to remain in it.336 847 This affirmation is not aimed at those who, through no fault of their own, do not know Christ and his Church: Those who, through no fault of their own, do not know the Gospel of Christ or his Church, but who nevertheless seek God with a sincere heart, and, moved by grace, try in their actions to do his will as they know it through the dictates of their conscience-those too may achieve eternal salvation.337 848 “Although in ways known to himself God can lead those who, through no fault of their own, are ignorant of the Gospel, to that faith without which it is impossible to please him, the Church still has the obligation and also the sacred right to evangelize all men.”338”
god is in charge and if we choose to unite with him let us truly turn away from our sins and ask forginess jesus is lord and saviour and a just judge god in your mercy i beg thee to hear the prayer of your people and give them safty in you all glory and honour is yours amen
I'm of non-RCC background, married to a Catholic, using the word Protestant often when it comes to differentiating from them. Although I'm not in complete agreement when it comes to certain Catholic practices of having Mary or other saints interceding, I don't make judgments on that. I do hear the argument of the RCC being the origin and true Church, etc., and some would have liked me to join. My main issues include that I see rejection and disapproval towards other denominations from Catholics, and I'm not going against the grain of what has established and nurtured my personal faith. And there's more. On the other hand, I see that the RCC has its merits as other denominations do. I in general commend Bishop Barron on what he has to say. I'm not getting political, but I agree with the Bishop on the Cuomos. Many Catholic values are in tuned with Christian values that are not necessarily Catholic-specific, and some politicians who belong to the RCC have endorsed policies which against teachings. And remarks about conservatives not being welcomed in New York is a contributing part of the problem in America. Despite some disagreements with the Catholic Church, I also defend them from some remarks. They're are Christian brethren as well.
Growing up under protestant influence I was told that Catholics believe that they have to earn salvation by doing good works. This was contrasted with the protestant message that salvation is God's free gift of grace to those who have faith in Christ. I'm not quite sure what the Catholic church's actual position is on this subject.
Read James 2 in any bible he talks about faith by works. Faith alone is dead. Also if a Protestant earns salvation by faith than why can’t a Catholic in a Protestant view not have salvation the whole Catholic Church is about Jesus Christ. Catholics have a very strong faith in Jesus.
Bishop I am from Dublin Ireland and was told a story about a book shop beside the penny foot bridge in Dublin sixty years ago called Clarke’s One day a woman came in to buy the shilling bible and asked the said Mr Clarke “Are these Catholic bibles or protestant bibles Mr Clarke” Nether he said “There Gods bible and I believe he was a Jew.

As a Catholic, I feel that there is a prejudice, self-important flaw in most of us. Black against White, Rich looking down on poor, The brown eyes and the blue eyes. Some even take it another level when picking sides in sports. This will always be. We can only strive to do as Jesus would, but it rarely happens.
MEMBERING THE ORDER OF JESUS. I GIVE YOU A NEW COMMANDMENT. LOVE ONE ANOTHER AS I HAVE LOVED YOU. DO NOT BE AFRAID TO LOVE AS JESUS LOVES US, ABANDON HIMSELF AND HEAL AND LET THEM HEAL OR AMEN AND LET THEM LOVE. YOU WILL FIND NO MORE HAPPINESS THAN IN GOD.
Keep Judeo-Christian values alive in America. Learning to love by Jesus the Nazarene is good in so many ways. If only people would read the Bible. Christian life interpreted correctly is a good way of life.
ANY TROUBLE DON´T GET SOLUTIONS GETTING THE FAULTS TO ANOTHER IF NOT RECOGNIZED OUR OWN WAY TO HELP OTHERS, SO IF THEY CAN´T SEE NOTHING. WHEN WE START HELPING GOD HELP US TO HELP, WHEN WE WISH THINGS AND CAN´T FORGIVE OR FORGET WE CAN´T PRAY TO OUR FATHER, CAUSE THE PRAY SAYS FORGIVE OUR OFFENSES AS WE ALSO FORGIVE THOSE WHO OFFEND US AND NOT BEING RECONCILATED WITH OUR FATHER GOD, THE RESENTMENT BECOMES GREAT AND INSTEAD OF BEING FRUIT WE ARE FILLED WITH THORNS
This is where the church and Catholics need to tread carefully. Because we should note how anytime this anti-Catholicism arises today, it's political issues. Here, we have liberals that don't approve of our morals and, as Fr. Barron puts it, the law. It's not just liberals either. When we go into the areas of economics, immigration, or social justice, or certain concerns involving international law, conservatives will turn on us as well.
Your Grace, you can see the quick progression to privatization of Catholic (or Christian in general, if you like) values to finally outlawing of those same values in Justin Trudeau, the current PM of Canada. Once stated he was 'personally opposed to abortion', but now actively persecutes organizations who don't toe the party line on abortion. Anyway, just an obversation. I'm Orthodox, but I enjoy your channel. Many years to you!
I was a Protestant for 10 years and recently reverted to Catholicism. There is way more persecution as a Catholic than as a Protestant I believe because the enemy is not wanting more Catholics. He is happy with Protestants because they are not in the Church Jesus started. They don’t receive the Eucharist and they don’t venerate Mary and this makes the Devil happy!!!
Good comments and I agree that this should be of concern. My problem though is the fundamental contradiction when it comes to gay rights issues. While no one, especially a politician, should be saying that one group or another has no place in society, it's a bit hard to complain about the law being used against Catholics when Catholics are advocating that the law be used against gay people. I feel that in a multicultural society, our rights and freedoms extend only so far as we do not use them to diminish the rights and freedoms of others.
One thing to keep in mind is that when we (Catholics) say "marriage," we mean a sacrament instituted by God, when gay-rights activists say "marriage," they mean a legal contract with a set of civil effects. The disagreement is about two very different things. If a gay couple wants to become one person in the eyes of the state, I can't say I have much of a problem with that...so long as no church is required by law to claim that they have also become one in the eyes of God.
Bailey4President well, something like that have start to happen in Europe as far as I have read in lifesitenews. But, when it comes to marriage, what we want is to preserve common good, and treating marriage as if it were any superfluous thing is a critical mistake.
Bailey4President As an American (not a Catholic), I have a problem with gay civil "marriage". If we are devoted to providing everything a child needs for development (i.e. a loving father and mother), we would be against the redefinition of marriage.
El Canal de Shackra "treating marriage as if it were any superfluous thing is a critical mistake." Say whatever else you want about gay marriage, you cannot accuse it of being superfluous. If for no other reason, I would support it simply on the grounds that it is people who actually *want* to get married. When we're surrounded by a culture of divorce and cohabitation, which treats relationships with the same disposability as some junk they bought at WalMart, actively trying to *stop* people from getting married is absurd.
Remember Jesus said that "I say to you that you are Peter (which means 'rock'), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it." SO HAVE FAITH! the only reason why this anti-catholic people gets to our nerve is because WE HAVE LITTLE FAITH in the true church of CHRIST!
Rio Gent Maybe Because Christ and the apostles teach this and Marriage has nothing to do with Raping Kids moron. Maybe you shouldn't have relatives since that's where the greatest share of Kid Raping as you say happensCelibacy is Church Practice, Not Dogma Matt. 19:11-12 - Jesus says celibacy is a gift from God and whoever can bear it should bear it. Jesus praises and recommends celibacy for full-time ministers in the Church. Because celibacy is a gift from God, those who criticize the Church's practice of celibacy are criticizing God and this wonderful gift He bestows on His chosen ones. Matt. 19:29 - Jesus says that whoever gives up children for the sake of His name will receive a hundred times more and will inherit eternal life. Jesus praises celibacy when it is done for the sake of His kingdom. Matt. 22:30 - Jesus explains that in heaven there are no marriages. To bring about Jesus' kingdom on earth, priests live the heavenly consecration to God by not taking a wife in marriage. This way, priests are able to focus exclusively on the spiritual family, and not have any additional pressures of the biological family (which is for the vocation of marriage). This also makes it easier for priests to be transferred to different parishes where they are most needed without having to worry about the impact of their transfer on wife and children. 1 Cor 7:1 - Paul teaches that it is well for a man not to touch a woman. This is the choice that the Catholic priests of the Roman rite freely make. 1 Cor. 7:7 - Paul also acknowledges that celibacy is a gift from God and wishes that all were celibate like he is. 1 Cor. 7:27 - Paul teaches men that they should not seek marriage. In Paul’s opinion, marriage introduces worldly temptations that can interfere with one’s relationship with God, specifically regarding those who will become full-time ministers in the Church. 1 Cor. 7:32-33, 38 - Paul recommends celibacy for full-time ministers in the Church so that they are able to focus entirely upon God and building up His kingdom. He “who refrains from marriage will do better.” 1 Tim. 3:2 - Paul instructs that bishops must be married only once. Many Protestants use this verse to prove that the Church's celibacy law is in error. But they are mistaken because this verse refers to bishops that were widowers. Paul is instructing that these widowers could not remarry. The verse also refers to those bishops who were currently married. They also could not remarry (in the Catholic Church's Eastern rite, priests are allowed to marry; celibacy is only a disciplinary rule for the clergy of the Roman rite). Therefore, this text has nothing to do with imposing a marriage requirement on becoming a bishop. 1 Tim. 4:3 - in this verse, Paul refers to deceitful doctrines that forbid marriage. Many non-Catholics also use this verse to impugn the Church's practice of celibacy. This is entirely misguided because the Catholic Church (unlike many Protestant churches) exalts marriage to a sacrament. In fact, marriage is elevated to a sacrament, but consecrated virginity is not. The Church declares marriage sacred, covenantal and lifegiving. Paul is referring to doctrines that forbid marriage and other goods when done outside the teaching of Christ and for a lessor good. Celibacy is an act of giving up one good (marriage and children) for a greater good (complete spiritual union with God). 1 Tim. 5:9-12 - Paul recommends that older widows take a pledge of celibacy. This was the beginning of women religious orders. 2 Tim. 2:3-4 - Paul instructs his bishop Timothy that no soldier on service gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim his to satisfy the One who enlisted him. Paul is using an analogy to describe the role of the celibate priesthood in the Church. Rev. 14:4 - unlike our sinful world of the flesh, in heaven, those consecrated to virginity are honored. Isaiah 56:3-7 - the eunuchs who keep God's covenant will have a special place in the kingdom of heaven. Jer. 16:1-4 - Jeremiah is told by God not to take a wife or have children.
What I want to know is why I am forever seeing people like Jimmy Saville, Stuart Hall, Gary Glitter and Rolf Harris parading in front of the cameras outside some court house and being sent to jail and yet I never seem to see a Catholic Priest in the same position. It's as if they have some sort of diplomatic immunity or else the Catholic Church is allowed the liberty to sort it out themselves behind closed doors. These men should be prosecuted and sent to jail like any other paedophile. Does anyone else agree. Why are they not in front of the camera's and behind bars. This is a criminal offence and they should be prosecuted accordingly under the law of the land.
By the way the 12 Apostles spoke Hebrew as well as Aramaic, Latin, and Greek (which is why Pilate posted the sign on the cross in Latin, Greek, and Hebrew) like every other inhabitant of Roman Palestine. When the first editions of the New Testament did come out along with the Septuagint (the Greek translation of the Old Testament) the name Jesus came out as Yeshua, Iesous, and Iesus, and later as the modern name of Jesus. So, either way, the name Jesus, or Iesous or Yeshua would be correct depending on where or what time period you are from.
That a man of such a stature can say a thing like that is a sign on the wall. Many have lost the way of common sens, have been conditioned to not even reflect about it but simply reject it, and are now stirred to hatred. Now this is a very serious matter. A man like that should be judged, but he is more likely to judge. Do we realise the seriousness of this growing attitude amongst our political leaders or should i say pre-facist? It is surely more appropriate.
Well done brother. See you in Paradise.

If that was the case..it seems to me to be his lose. Who wants a man that isn't willing to stand for his own principles...and more importantly..someone who is willing to defend you.
Hopefully you have moved on and found yourself a good Catholic man that has given you many Catholic babies!
God bless you my friend! ⚘️
Its because your choice upholds gender and queer discrimination
I also would like to say that during my father's terrrible struggle with cancer as I was a teen, it was the local Catholic church that offered me and my family the most support and solace, before and after my Dad passed.
I am Scottish , a Catholic from a large Catholic family. This beautiful Country of mine is staunchly anti Catholic, one of the worst in the world. We are defined by bigotry, segregation and discrimination against Catholics, especially in the workforce and in sport. It is a sad reflection on those who govern us.
I had no idea...
So sad 😢
I’m gonna go on a limb and say you’re a Celtic fan and despise the Rangers?
Catholics and Jews are not compatible with Wasp societies. Catholics came to america and worked hand in hand to undermine WASP society and now all the critical power points in society are run by catholics and jews... All Catholics go to hell.
I was working on a construction site next to a convent and when the nuns passed me they would bless me, which I found 'quite touching', they never asked if I was Catholic, I'm sure that it wouldn't have mattered to them that I am an 'Anglican'!
Nuns blessing people...hmmm.
I didn't think they had that authority. A priest yes.
@@Kitiwake they don't. It's a simple blessing we as parents or as friends can bestow upon them. You bless yourself by simply the sign of the cross 🙏
I’m surprised that happened since Catholics hate non-catholic Christians with a burning passion.
Ironically the Bible says that anyone who hates their brother does not have the love of the Father in them.
As a Catholic i was never taught to worship mary pope or saints that is Protestant propaganda .JESUS is GOD in the Catholic church.
Bobby Mc Daid Exactly
We honour Mary and the saints sacrifices
We should respect the pope though we might not agree with everything the pope says.
We should honour Mary simply because she was chosen specifically to bear jesus. God did not choose some random woman God chose a pure woman.
Bobby Mc Daid Though we do need to take criticism and I don't know if the child molestation is exaggerated.

Bishop Robert Barron is BOTH a Catholic AND a bona fide Christian; although not Catholic
myself, I have a very high regard for preachers such as him, and the Catholic Church!
Thank you Mark.
Mark Palka, 2 Years ago you left a real positive message about the Catholic Church, about Bishop Barron. That is very refreshing when many run the Church down. You sound like a very confident individual. Even though not Catholic, you respect Catholics and the Church. Great message!
As a catholic thank you very much.
I am a newly converted Catholic and I can tell you first-hand that anti-Catholicism is alive and well in America today.
Im a catholic and experience it every day.I was called an idolator a satanst its hogwash garbage by fkn protestants. Prots dont realise theyre called protestants bc they protest the church tje one true apostolic catholic church established by chrsit himself.
you converted to a religion that values men over women and queers - you stepped right in it
My cousin is a former Catholic and he told many times to leave the Catholic faith because he claims its corrupt and evil and the priests too.

It's true.
Is the church corrupt or the men in the church corrupt? Anytime you have men, you're going to have politics and corruption.
Sam Nikole Romans 10:14-15
chef william Gibson hey buddy, did you hear about the sex abuse scandal in the Southern Baptist Church? You have no clue what you’re talking about!
He said that to his Apostles, not to throngs of people following him. The Protestant reformers taught this, and there are now 1000's of different "Christian" religions all teaching different doctrines. This doesn't quite work does it?
@@andreztarango2674 Definitely that has happened in the Baptist Church, too. Yet, many don't want to admit it.
Accept the fact that you are going to be persecuted if you lift the Cross for Christ. GODBLESS FR. BARRON AND ALL THE CATHOLICS!!!
I’m catholic

Thank you Bishop Barron. As always, an informative and helpful talk.
I love learning from Fr Barron he's pretty brilliant almost like mother Angelica
@ Kenneth Franchino
TWO WRONGS DON'T MAKE catholic cultists ! RIGHT!
ww1 ww2 all most all other wars catholics are to blame ....next you will say the church doesn't have an army ,but they manipulate leader with the one of military arms of the catholic cult the jesuits who have been thrown out of most countries only to show up some where else 70 % of catholic priests have aids ,the cult is emplodieng!
chef william Gibson I'm not going to continue this any further because you're just stating nonsense.
The catholic church is evil and wrong, because the catholic faith is not christian.

Sam Nikole “cannibalization?” Youre too funny. Its a Blessed Sacrament REQUIRED to get into heaven.
jerkojovic The bible is mythical bullshit. And anyone who rejoices in the eating of human flesh needs mental help.
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth;
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into Hell; the third day He rose again from the dead;
He ascended into Heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
Now every 300 sentences in Bible are given
a new interpretation giving birth to a new church every ten years. Catholic church debates ideas for decades/centuries before making any changes in dogma

AND THEN CALL men father AGAINST THE COMMANDMENT OF THE bible TO CALL NO MAN father!
When my wife and I left the Church of the Nazarene for the Catholic faith, people we had known for years suddenly stopped talking to us.
Welcome home, Al.
I am a Catholic from India. I have seen Hindu's do Earth worship before laying foundation of a new house. And the
ladies they made obeisance before a stone. The belief is that the priest has invoked a spirit in the stone. And I always thought if they can believe that surely the spirit of Jesus can be invoked to reside in a piece of bread. The beliefs are parallel. There is a similarity between the two practices and beliefs.
Did you really experience That? A near mystic experience !
From family that asks, "Why Catholic for heaven sakes?" I try to explain but I fear I don't do it justice, Oh if they only knew.
chef william Gibson go back before Constantine and tell me which church is closest to that of the Apostles... Modern Protestants, not even close
Fr. Barron, I just saw that you are now a bishop! Congratulations. I love your video series, Catholicism. Could you please make a follow up series which includes many other beautiful aspects? You and are Scott Hahn are my two favorite Catholic Evangelists! Keep up the good work!
blessed are those persecuted for Him.
as long as we still have people to teach us and form us in the faith, we will be OK.
What people, to teach us ? You can pray, on your own, and the Lord will hear you and answer if you're humble.
Intercessionary prayer is the word.
Forrest Henry haven't heard protestant treat mary or other saints like god's secretary....

Thanks much for this video.
Can you imagine this was 6 years ago? Things have only gotten worse guys.
Keep up the great work Father and keep challenging those men in training up there in Mundelein to protect the integrity of HIS church.
Great video Father, thank you for this.
I am a Catholic, a convert from 1987. I am a career IT guy. We had a customer who left "Catholics are going to hell" pamphlets in my tool box.

Powerful, thank you Fr. Barron
All of the anticatholism I've been experiencing is disheartening. I shouldn't let it get to me, that's what the devil would want.
Thank you Fr. Barron
Thamac15 People oppose the church as it condones and tolerates rape against children........
Daniel Pan Im so confused about different protocol in churchs- why cant they just adhere to the bible and thats it- you say- ''One is centered in the Sacrifice offered to God the Father to appease His justice and the other is centered on sermons of the pastor''-
Jesus did say when there is division, a church cannot stand- due to lack of unity in teachings- i know of catholics that still go to church yet they dont believe in many of the teachings-some priests support gay marriage, there is a priest recently in crossfire on the news for doing so- all these religions are in a religious confusion! tradition and customs and just mans ego in general cause it to be so!!!!!
Daniel Pan Dan,i commend you for your kind and patient replies- Please forgive me,i may of missed it along the way in your comment, but are you catholic?
what made you leave the protestant church?
as regards to your question- 2 timothy 3;16,17 says ""ALL"" scripture is inspired by God-
You cant really reason or conclude why or if God removed certain books or rejected certain scripture- God is a God of order- he wouldn't waste time getting scribes to write with excruciating accuracy then choose not to include them- do you personally think there are books that should not have been included? what prompted you to ask me this specific question?...
Pick up the Bible and read it.
Bishop, you are an excellent apologist. Thank you
Thank you Father.
God bless you, Rico. May the Lord guide this most important decision.
Thank you for this video! It was therapeutic to watch
Many convert to the One True Church just before they die....
But we never see anyone joining another church in the same situation.
"Where else can we go Lord; you alone have the words of eternal life"
Saint Peter's words...
Mayor Koch used to say if the Catholics are opposed to abortion, leave them alone. It's there religious belief. He got that right.
There would be no needs for abortions, if christians would stop condemnig birth control. Birth control is an alternative to birth control.
father ur full of god I can't breathe holy spirit using u to show gods dimension thank you
FR. BARRON IN HD? UNHEARD OF!!!!!!! :P
DON´T SCAPE TO THE LOVE. GOD IS LOVE, SO LOVE HIM, HE IS YOUR HAPINESS!
For what it's worth, here's a combination book review/op-ed piece I wrote on the same subject which the Charlotte Observer saw fit to publish in its entirety a few years ago:
THE NEW ANTI-CATHOLICISM: THE LAST ACCEPTABLE PREJUDICE, by Philip Jenkins
Anti-Catholicism is “the deepest bias in the history of the American people.” - Arthur Schlesinger Sr.
“It is a religion for third-world people, full of ignorance and superstition.”
Then, the coup de grace: “How could you join an institution that has bred those hideous creatures, the pedophile priests?”
Having grown up a W.A.S.P., I had never been on the receiving end of such textbook bigotry.
(Jenkins left the Church in the 1980s “without any particular rancor” to become an Episcopalian.)
To begin with, Jenkins explains, anti-Catholicism is a hoary American tradition- our republic was principally a Protestant creation, after all.
He posits that historically, this “last acceptable prejudice” has reared its ugly head in America in two major waves:
a) The older anti-Catholicism, which was a 19th century working-class phenomenon, prevalent among nativists.
b) The new anti-Catholicism, which is largely a disease of the cultural elite and has grown in virulence ever since the issuance of Humanae Vitae in 1968, the papal encyclical rejecting birth control.
It is a quite different matter to say that some essential features of that religion give rise to evil or abuse and that the evil cannot be prevented without fundamentally changing the beliefs or practices of the religion.”
It might surprise some readers - including some Catholics - that criticism of corrupt clergymen is actually a venerable Catholic tradition. (For proof, read Dante’s Inferno.)
Thus, most thinking Catholics have no real quarrel with the Boston Globe’s laudable work on the New England scandals.
Cf. Christian Science Monitor, April 5, 2002)
It might also surprise you that pedophilia is just as prevalent among married men as it is among celibate priests. (Jenkins’ estimation of the percentage of American priests guilty of abuse is 2 to 3%.)
Yet the media have given the impression that child sexual abuse is a uniquely Roman Catholic problem, rather than a catholic or universal one.
Here’s Jenkins on why this occurred: “[T]he disproportionate reaction to the clergy abuse issue, the suggestions of pervasive criminality, cannot be understood except as a reflection of accumulated political grievances over other issues, often involving sexuality and gender. Every interest group with an axe to grind now used the ‘pedophile crisis’ as the grounds for unrestrained frontal attacks on …fundamental aspects of Catholic belief.”
But the American media’s regrettable treatment of the scandals is only a small part of Jenkins’ remarkable book. He shines a light on other wellsprings of anti-Catholic bigotry as well.
In the chapters entitled “The Church Hates Women” and “The Church Kills Gays,” he shows how disagreements with the church’s doctrines are consistently escalated into broader anti-Catholic attacks.
(A classic example: When in 1992 the Church spoke out against gay rights legislation, The Nation headlined its report “Pope Backs Hate Crimes.”)
And in his chapter “Black Legends” Jenkins exposes the “facts” that everyone seemingly “knows” about historical events like the Crusades and the Inquisition for what they are: mostly gross distortions or lies.
These central issues will reveal a broad schism between secularist naturalists and those who believe in a transcendent God and His victorious Kingdom.
you were lied to that your rcc is what you claim . God said different. God is holy, you are sinners all of you! Dont give yourself a title you dont deserve

I see so so so but sooo much hate from the "christians" non-catholic comments and they say they have God
They have every right to be hateful, because the catholic church is not a christian religion.
Great idea, a peaceful conversation yet with both parties challenging the others beliefs and views. Pity you can't have one with Hitchens (RIP)
Diale Peter-Daniel Mabitsela ehh john lennox got hitchens to verbally admit defeat..good enough for me.

Prejudice does not thrive on facts
Good observations, Bishop Barron.

It's difficult to start.

No. Your "cathetism" teaches that they don't believe the bible, in fact it's completely contrary to it..............“841
The Church’s relationship with the Muslims. “The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind’s judge on the last day.”330
842
The Church’s bond with non-Christian religions is in the first place the common origin and end of the human race:
All nations form but one community. This is so because all stem from the one stock which God created to people the entire earth, and also because all share a common destiny, namely God. His providence, evident goodness, and saving designs extend to all against the day when the elect are gathered together in the holy city. . . .331
843
The Catholic Church recognizes in other religions that search, among shadows and images, for the God who is unknown yet near since he gives life and breath and all things and wants all men to be saved. Thus, the Church considers all goodness and truth found in these religions as “a preparation for the Gospel and given by him who enlightens all men that they may at length have life.”332
844
In their religious behavior, however, men also display the limits and errors that disfigure the image of God in them:
Very often, deceived by the Evil One, men have become vain in their reasonings, and have exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and served the creature rather than the Creator. Or else, living and dying in this world without God, they are exposed to ultimate despair.333
845
To reunite all his children, scattered and led astray by sin, the Father willed to call the whole of humanity together into his Son’s Church. The Church is the place where humanity must rediscover its unity and salvation. The Church is “the world reconciled.” She is that bark which “in the full sail of the Lord’s cross, by the breath of the Holy Spirit, navigates safely in this world.” According to another image dear to the Church Fathers, she is prefigured by Noah’s ark, which alone saves from the flood.334
“Outside the Church there is no salvation”
846
How are we to understand this affirmation, often repeated by the Church Fathers?335 Re-formulated positively, it means that all salvation comes from Christ the Head through the Church which is his Body:
Basing itself on Scripture and Tradition, the Council teaches that the Church, a pilgrim now on earth, is necessary for salvation: the one Christ is the mediator and the way of salvation; he is present to us in his body which is the Church. He himself explicitly asserted the necessity of faith and Baptism, and thereby affirmed at the same time the necessity of the Church which men enter through Baptism as through a door. Hence they could not be saved who, knowing that the Catholic Church was founded as necessary by God through Christ, would refuse either to enter it or to remain in it.336
847
This affirmation is not aimed at those who, through no fault of their own, do not know Christ and his Church:
Those who, through no fault of their own, do not know the Gospel of Christ or his Church, but who nevertheless seek God with a sincere heart, and, moved by grace, try in their actions to do his will as they know it through the dictates of their conscience-those too may achieve eternal salvation.337
848
“Although in ways known to himself God can lead those who, through no fault of their own, are ignorant of the Gospel, to that faith without which it is impossible to please him, the Church still has the obligation and also the sacred right to evangelize all men.”338”
David. "Plan of salvation with Muslims"? If they believed on Jesus Christ for salvation they wouldn't be Muslims
god is in charge and if we choose to unite with him let us truly turn away from our sins and ask forginess jesus is lord and saviour and a just judge god in your mercy i beg thee to hear the prayer of your people and give them safty in you all glory and honour is yours amen
Well said Father.
Thank for your balanced and rational approach to the Catholic Church.
CAUSE EVERY WOUND BLEED, AND IF YOU´RE WITH GOD OR JESUS CHRIST YOU ALREADY HEALTH THE WOUNDS, NOT CONTRARY TO FAITH

ANY TROUBLE DON´T GET SOLUTIONS GETTING THE FAULTS TO ANOTHER IF NOT RECOGNIZED OUR OWN WAY TO HELP OTHERS, SO IF THEY CAN´T SEE NOTHING. WHEN WE START HELPING GOD HELP US TO HELP, WHEN WE WISH THINGS AND CAN´T FORGIVE OR FORGET WE CAN´T PRAY TO OUR FATHER, CAUSE THE PRAY SAYS
FORGIVE OUR OFFENSES AS WE ALSO FORGIVE THOSE WHO OFFEND US AND NOT BEING RECONCILATED WITH OUR FATHER GOD, THE RESENTMENT BECOMES GREAT AND INSTEAD OF BEING FRUIT WE ARE FILLED WITH THORNS
Please follow Lord Jesus and Catholic family laws that makes our life meaning full
The greatness of Woodrow Wilson as a statesman is debatable.
I completely agree that Catholics who oppose abortion and gay marriage should always be at the bargaining table. Most of the time they are.
I would like to ask Father Barron why did God choose the tribe of nomads that later became known as the Israelites?
I don't know. As the poet said, "How odd of God/ To choose the Jews."
my baptist father in law told his son find a church....just not a Catholic church
Jesus said that we will be persecuted until He comes again… we have to stay strong and offer prayers for all who persecute the church
Those Catholics have the idea that civil law should help to prevent acts of moral evil instead of endorsing them. Weird, I know....
Bailey4President
well, something like that have start to happen in Europe as far as I have read in lifesitenews.
El Canal de Shackra "treating marriage as if it were any superfluous thing is a critical mistake."
Say whatever else you want about gay marriage, you cannot accuse it of being superfluous. If for no other reason, I would support it simply on the grounds that it is people who actually *want* to get married. When we're surrounded by a culture of divorce and cohabitation, which treats relationships with the same disposability as some junk they bought at WalMart, actively trying to *stop* people from getting married is absurd.
And don't forget about two of the biggest anti-Catholics in American history, Harriet Beecher Stowe and Frederick Douglass.
Hey robert, what do think about child abused committed by priest who got transferred far to avoid court?
I'm against it.
Rio Gent Maybe Because Christ and the apostles teach this and Marriage has nothing to do with Raping Kids moron. Maybe you shouldn't have relatives since that's where the greatest share of Kid Raping as you say happensCelibacy is Church Practice, Not Dogma
Matt.
He “who refrains from marriage will do better.”
1 Tim.
Rio Gent yea more fairytales form a buffoon
What I want to know is why I am forever seeing people like Jimmy Saville, Stuart Hall, Gary Glitter and Rolf Harris parading in front of the cameras outside some court house and being sent to jail and yet I never seem to see a Catholic Priest in the same position. It's as if they have some sort of diplomatic immunity or else the Catholic Church is allowed the liberty to sort it out themselves behind closed doors. These men should be prosecuted and sent to jail like any other paedophile. Does anyone else agree. Why are they not in front of the camera's and behind bars. This is a criminal offence and they should be prosecuted accordingly under the law of the land.
splotsplot And I'm forever seeing morons like you don't know what the hell their talking about
By the way the 12 Apostles spoke Hebrew as well as Aramaic, Latin, and Greek (which is why Pilate posted the sign on the cross in Latin, Greek, and Hebrew) like every other inhabitant of Roman Palestine.
Quite Converting people towards your Evil Ways
That a man of such a stature can say a thing like that is a sign on the wall. Many have lost the way of common sens, have been conditioned to not even reflect about it but simply reject it, and are now stirred to hatred. Now this is a very serious matter. A man like that should be judged, but he is more likely to judge. Do we realise the seriousness of this growing attitude amongst our political leaders or should i say pre-facist? It is surely more appropriate.
