Tru, but I think its because Bones has a tiny list { 1 or 2 left } of who he will fight so Dana is going to try and pay some bills while he still has Jones on the roster.. Also, that tiny list does not include Aspinal or Pavlovich.

Stipe v Jones is a joke. Talk about respect, give Aspinall some respect. Man went and f@cked up number 2 ranked on 2 weeks notice to save a big card. Give him Stipe.
Stipe doesn’t want anyone but jones, jones doesn’t want anyone but stipe. They either make Aspinall start fighting the rest of the division or he waits until that fight is done and both retire.

The UFC move the goalposts too much nowadays to accommodate for the needle rather than the sport. Same sh!t with Colby's title shot. But if the UFC are going to die on that hill, I would like to see Aspinall v Gane or the Aspinall v the winner of Almeida/Blaydes if the fight is later in the year (ideally Blaydes just to right the wrong from the injury) in Manchester. No chance I'm buying Jones v Stipe, hope the numbers tank.

I dont see the reasoning why Jones and Stipe "Deserve" to fight eachother ahead of Aspinall. Deserve is such a compicated word. Nobody deserves anything unless they earn it. How has a guy whos fought once at Heavyweight and another guy who lost his last fight years ago earned the right to be at the top of the pile? Meanwhile Aspinall is fighting anyone he can get his hands on at short notice and saving cards and he gets told to wait. Its absolutely stinks

I really want to find someone actually still interested in the Jones v Stipe fight. Even when the fight got cancelled I was infinitely more excited about the Tom v Pav fight.
Now that we have to wait even longer for it it’s just going to feel more and more anticlimactic by the time the fight actually comes around.
The UFC has always moved with the times better than any other sports organisation. But on this subject this is one of those rare times that I feel they’re going in the wrong direction.
Nope there is a reason why. Aspinall is young he will still get more fights to come.
People will still buy Jones vs Stipe. The card will be stacked. And plz don't count out Stipe. He is a hw legend. Not seeing him for 3 yrs doesn't mean he will be uncompetitive.

I think Dana is star-struck on Stipe V Jones. In three years, neither of them will be considered the greatest heavyweight of all time.

I don't know why Dana is stuck on this Jones Stipe fight. He keeps saying the fans want it but IMO the majority of fans that I talk to would much rather see Jones fight Aspinall. Honestly right now the fight to make with Jones out is Aspinall and Stipe. Once Aspinall sleeps 41 year old Stipe, then Jones has no where to go but through Aspinall. Stipe vs Jones makes about as much sense as Connor fighting for the welterweight title right now. Ask 100 fight fans who Jones should fight next and 99 of them will say Tom Aspinall. Aspinall should definitely have a title shot next considering how he dominated Sergei. It's sad that we have to wait for Jones to fight some retired fighter who probably won't stand a chance due to being out for so long. It's ironic and funny how people (including Rogan) go on saying fighters who sit out for long periods usually perform badly (Rogan just said this when he talked to MPMD about Conor). Yet here we are with people thinking Miocic actually has a chance, which he does but not too much imo since he's been out for so long. At this point I just want the fight to be done and over with so both can retire and Aspinall can rightfully have that belt and the HW division isn't frozen and treated like trash like it has been for a long long time. I don't see how people can be excited about Jones vs Miocic since Stipe has been gone for so long. Blahh personally I would love to see Miocic win just so there's a huge upset and of course Dana would probably be shattered which is always nice to see (His face when Strickland won is priceless).

If Stipe was such an all time great and really “the best HW” ever people would actually still be excited to see him vs Jones. Fedor vs Jones would’ve been the biggest fight in MMA 5-7 years ago when fedor was still old as hell.
Dana White is like an anti-promoter at this point. He just makes the fights nobody wants to see. Anyone waiting with baited breath for a 43 year old Stipe to fight Jon “Slam my fiancé’s head in a hotel door” Jones is the literal definition of a casual.
Jon is a terrible ambassador for this sport
