  • In this episode Saifedean talks to software developer and author Gigi. They start by talking about Gigi’s book 21 Lessons: What I’ve Learned from Falling Down the Bitcoin Rabbit Hole, and why Gigi’s most important lesson is “you will not change bitcoin, but bitcoin will change you”. They move on to discuss the relationship between bitcoin and time. They cover how bitcoin solved the problem of reaching decentralized agreement on time and how bitcoin, as an unparalleled savings technology, serves to lower human time preference. The Q&A touches on topics such as the mind-boggling security of the SHA256 cryptographic hash function and threats to bitcoin’s future.

Putting our time and effort in activities and investments that will yield a profitable return in the future is what we should be aiming for.
Success depends on the actions or steps you take to achieve it.

That’s true. If you don't find a means of multiplying money, you will wake up one day to realise that the you thought you had, has finished. Investment is key.

Bitcoin is the future of the digital world, investing in bitcoin has made me financially stable. It is a pity that many people who are going through great difficulties have ignored bitcoin, while bitcoin can improve their financial situation.

Hi Saifedean, I just wanted to let you know that I happily ordered 7 copies of The Bitcoin Standard. One is for myself (because I prefer to be able to read the print, rather than just listen to the Audiobook version which I already own), and the rest is for my family for Christmas. I'm getting them all hardware wallets with $100 in bitcoin on them, in addition to your book. They're all either completely unaware of bitcoin or think that it's "imaginary money," so I hope that they start to understand when it's grown significantly a couple years from now.
I haven't finished your book yet, but what a wonderful book it is. This is real knowledge. It's actually hard to put a dollar value on this. The book price is a steal. In reality, anyone who actually listens to the book is guaranteed to grow their wealth. The book is basically free.
This is why I'm so willing to buy several copies to give to family. Even if only 10% of them read it, it's going to have an impact. And I'll make it back tenfold.

The average Austrian knows little about The Sound of Music and NOTHING about Austrian economics! The average German also doesn't know about the hyperinflation of the Weimar republic. 🤷 ... Just try asking random people if you don't believe me.
