The Fiat Standard Online Course w/ Saifedean Ammous

- The Fiat Standard online course will have 18 lectures, and each lecture in the course will cover one chapter in the book. Lectures are available every Monday starting May 16, 2022, until September 12. Members can watch the lecture any time, and lectures will remain available for you for as long as you are a member of saifedean.com.
In-person seminars to discuss the course will be held once a week for membership+ subscribers. Seminars will usually be held on Thursdays at 11am US Eastern Time, although they might be rescheduled due to travel commitments. You will receive a weekly email with the seminar times. Membership+ also allows you to attend another weekly seminar usually hosting guests to discuss bitcoin, Austrian economics, and other fascinating topics.

This course covers Dr. Ammous’s second book, The Fiat Standard: The Debt Slavery Alternative to Human Civilization (saifedean.com/tfs).
The book and course examine the fiat monetary system as it currently exists, and the implications of its widespread implementation. Similar to how The Bitcoin Standard (saifedean.com/thebitcoinstandard) explained the functional essence of bitcoin and its potential social and economic implications, this book examines twentieth century monetary technology and explains its benefits and drawbacks, and its many modes of failure.

Keep educating! I wish more networks of people (i.e., employers) had a way to take TH-cam educational videos just as seriously as exclusive-and stupidly expensive-elite university degrees. This will honestly be the main battle for a free-market educational system.
Any certification system that costs money will naturally become increasingly expensive to preserve it's value.
TH-cam videos are great, but they’re only a portion of a proper education. Real learning requires much more than listening to lectures. We can learn a lot from lectures, but it’s not enough. We need to write about the information, evaluate it critically, or in other ways synthesize and demonstrate knowledge. It’s common for people to think they understand something well until they must answer complicated questions or write a properly structured essay.
Traditional schools are far too expensive and inaccessible, but we won’t be free of their significance until free education also includes the active components of education, learning, and development.

Given how influential Dr. Ammous is in the bitcoin literature and culture, it’s crazy how small his channel is.
Because he is essentially the leader of a cult. The idea you would fix the money supply in an ever changing economy, is completely insane. For starters, if you had a mortgage and the value of money increases consistently, it means your mortgage gets more expensive over time, which is an untenible situation. Inflation reduces the cost of debt, obviously.
I have preordered the German book today. Looking really forward to it. Bitcoin standard first and many other good resources made me become a toxic bitcoin maximalist 😁

Question: Jeff Snider suggests bitcoin is too inelastic to be a currency and says an algorithmic stable coin may possibly be a solution to fiat vs bitcoin. Are you suggesting the difficulty adjustment gives bitcoin that elasticity?
