    With the quality of light of the low sun hitting this spot the end result has an impact simply with the harmony the limited colours can create. Thanks again Sam for this great tutorial !

    A very well executed work of art, and that includes the smooth presentation. All of the painting's elements are sophisticated & were successful in conveying the importance of each step to achieve an admirable result. Well done & thank you.

Your level of professional work is amazing, and you are so good at explaining your painting, step-by-step, so everyone can understand. I really appreciate that you don't skip some parts, because invariably that would be just the bit I would really need to see. Thank you so much!

    Hey thanks Sam... I've been following you since your first video and I was a beginner painter but now I concider my self a novice mostly because of your technique and teachings without trying to sell me something... I'm at ease in front of my canvas with confidence... I'm trying to be an alla prima en plein air painter.. HARD AS HELL

    • @SamuelEarpArtist
      @SamuelEarpArtist  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey thanks for that, glad you’re improving at your painting. Plein Air Painting is hard but in the long run if you keep at it you’ll learn so much and you’ll become a much better painter. I think of plein air painting as fast tracking your art skills 😊

    • @hardystein114
      @hardystein114 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Have to agree there Sam , it is harder to judge colour accuracy and value at first , but I find myself improving , if slowly.I think value is more important than colour accuracy , because if your values are close to correct , ant colour shift from 100% accuracy will not be as conspicuous.

    Great video again. In the painting do you only have one compositions? example; If you put a bird on the rocks to the left would you worry about tying it in with your oval composition or give it a secondary composition of its own. Should a painting only have one focal point? Again thank you very much for sharing your beautiful art.

    • @SamuelEarpArtist
      @SamuelEarpArtist  2 ปีที่แล้ว

    When you cover the canvas with burnt sienna is it acrylic or oil. I no you paint in oils ,however , sometimes they lay in the backgrounds with acrylic because it dries faster. Thank you Kathy

    • @SamuelEarpArtist
      @SamuelEarpArtist  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kathy, I tone the background with burnt sienna and it's a thin layer of oil paint. I mix one part burnt sienna, one part and two to three parts gum turpentine. Mix it in an old jam jar and chuck a penny in there, shake it for a bit so it's thoroughly mixed. Then apply with a chip brush.
