I killed the cat by accident I threw 5 plasma grenades above the wall to clear them out It worked but I was sad when I saw the poor cats body fly over the wall
if you are a console user just make sure you don't explode the torrents when attacking. afterwards once the settlement is yours you can go into build mode and drag the turrent onto a wooden floor and store into workbench. the turrent disappears and you have a clean place to build. Similarly you can drag the beds into your own chosen locations as well.
+Thomas Green I am able to kill everyone without the turrents being aware of my presence. Then I fast travel back to the settlement and claim it as my own.
You're much better than I.. instead of gravestones, I stripped the bodies of their clothes, took them all to the cell in the office building, and chopped them into nuggets
To make the items non stealable you need to kill everyone, deezer AND the cat that roams around. Try it if you don't believe me. The cat acts as a settler
Here's something that helped me if anyone is having trouble with Covenant and the workshop, or if you sided with Dan and want to keep the town friendly still. player.addtofaction f0c6a 1 This adds the player to covenant's faction, which lets you use their beds and loot anything in the settlement without it being counted as stealing Find the Covenant workbench and then type the commands SetOwnership SetPapyrusVar OwnedByPlayer 1 This let's you use the workshop without having to kill anyone, and all of the settlers will be friendly!
You put gravestones? I just lined the bodies up in front of the settlement as a warning to others not to mess with me. Also to be able to loot their bodies once their items refresh.
lmao, i took the clothes off of the mayor and Mr. Fitzgerald and sat them in the brahmin trough because I didn't wanna keep taking slow trips to the lake.
'MarkForDelete' is the preferred console command to use as 'disable' leaves a trace of the object. However, it is much more punishing if you end up deleting the wrong thing. The best method is to select the turret (or any object really) and use disable. If the item you wanted disappeared, then you use 'MarkForDelete.' If it didn't disappear, then you selected the wrong item and you need to try again. Also either reload, or use enable while the ID is still selected.
You don't have to kill the settlers while they are still inside the complex, you can stay outside the gates and lure them to come outside, that way no dead bodies strewn everywhere.
What if all the choices we all made in Fallout 4 were saved in a huge databank and is part of government plans to figure types of people out and what they would do under certain circumstances..? Very much like The Institude. Okay it is just a Theory. A real life theory.
Heard this theory before, it wouldn't work at all. Many people have multiple save files, some people make "evil" choices due to them being more interesting or funny, and there's lots of accidental choices too, due to wrong button presses or perhaps somebody else playing while you go do something else. There's just too many factors for this to be an accurate field of study.
Oxhorn deserves a lot more subscribers since he does so good in his videos and also his voice in lore videos makes the lore sound like this is in a horror game. :-)
you can remove the turrets and beds in covenant while in workshop mode and then hold the button(on ps4 its x dunno what on xbox or pc) with which you take things or whatever and then put them on a platform you build like a shack floor and then store the platform, this way u can get rid of the turrets and beds without console commands
markfordelete > disable. The reason for using markfordelete is to reduce savebloat since it actually deletes the ref. from your current save (and all further saves you make on that char) while disable only "hides" it from plain sight. The scripts for the original disabled object still run.
There's also the "Covenant Peaceful Solution" mod, where you choose Option 4 to let Dr.Chambers continue with her work, the difference here is that when she get's done with working on her terminal you can kill her without any consequences.
You don't have to kill everyone in the settlement. It all depends on the choice that you make with the mission with this settlement. I personally think that the choice that lets you not have to kill everyone is better.
Good build, I like what you did here. I used to hate this settlement until I went all out and built it up the way I wanted to. It came out adorable and now I just love this little place! lol :)
Oxhorn: "So I made these little gravestones for the people in Covenant I killed because it's the right thing to do." Me: "Now that's really thoughtful." Oxhorn: *"But anyway, these crops over here are being grown on their fresh corpses."* Me: ". __ ."
The Crazy cat lover. I sided with covenant then went back and killed everyone in the compound covenant is still friendly and i was able to steal the compound guards armour to use as my own settlements police
Another glitch or maybe desired functionality I noticed is that if you decide to keep the original settlers and not make the choice that turns them hostile, THe original turrets do not count towards defense rating.
people have probably mentioned it but the unique weapon is actually a combat shotgun aptly named "justice" it has a stagger effect. its stupid over powerd if you give it a large quick eject drum magazine and a hardened automatic reciever as well as a couple other mods. also incase you want to know i believe the trigger for its effect is 30%.
Yeah.. Covenant.. I felt like Roland from The Dark Tower by the end of that quest.. So many dead.. (Actually.. The bodies are still there.. :| A grim reminder, but its been months in game.)
You can use the Scrap Dead Things mod to scrap their corpses. You get marble from them, which you can use to build gravestones. I have it linked iin the description.
I actually got off my butt and cleaned up the town. Still no mods yet, but i used "disable" to get rid of them, since i had to remove the turret stumps anyway. I have to run through Far Harbor Again with another character, then i'll check out some mods from your list.
22:25 actually it is a combat shotgun with a Stagger chance named Justice, also there is a legendary piece of armor, but I do not remember what it does.
I have not played this area yet with my new mod configuration. I imagine Scrap Everything and Place Everywhere are going to be the saviors of this settlement.
the unique/legendary items you could buy from Penny are Justice, a legendary combat shotgun which i believe has an increase to stagger chance, and a Destroyer's combat helmet that gives +1 to charisma and intellect, the helmet is part of a combat armor named set, and the shotgun is just a mildly interesting named weapon
You know, I just got the synth lab mod.....I'm going to make a synth of all of the residents so when I take over covenant I can replace them. *evil laugh*
I really like what you did with Covenant! You may want to scrap all the single occupant bunk beds and replace them with double occupancy bunk beds though. This would allow you to get rid of at least some of the sleeping bags and free up floor space.
I liked the grave stones that you did, I did something like that except that I collected the holotags of all of the BoS I killed and put them on display. Never forget
5 year old fun fact about this settlement. I found it by accident but I came in somehow through the back. I was super confused, got caught stealing. Everyone came at it. I hadnt saved in awhile and I refused to go all the way back. So I killed everyone it was actually my first hard fight tbh. When it was over I had to watch videos to understand what I missed because I knew there had to be a story and I just messed it up. And that, I believe, is how I found oxhorn. I think
You don't have to destroy the original turrets, you can keep them and they will attack enemies. The problem is that for some reason, once you take over the settlement the build meter does not count them and the defense count stays at zero. Here is the funny part. If you build a turret of your own, it will immediately attack the nearest Covenant turret. So what I did was to create two Mark 8 turrets and placed them at the front of the property close to where you take the entrance test. My defense count then went from zero to 16.
I didn't even realize this place was available as a build site until I watched this video. I had been avoiding it as I knew they were all hostile and I felt somewhat bed for the occupants even though I chose against them. They are all gone now having started with Minutemen Artillery and finished with an Atom's Judgement. Now I have Strong out front on guard duty with an Incinerating Mini-Gun and a big pile of naked bodies in the street.
You can put a caravan trading post here and it will work independently of the campfire, attracting one more trader to the town. In my case, original turrets remained neutral to me and my settlers and even shoot the roaming raiders. The problem with them is they considered hostile by my turrets and get destroyed.
Pretty great build there. Well it looks like I have a lot of work to do for this now lol (though I haven't used any mods ...yet) For my build, I stored the stolen items inside the workshop, destroyed the original turrets and replaced them with the same but added some spotlights, missile, shotgun and heavy laser turret. Also added a few workstations for chems, weapons and armor especially a Nuka-Mixer (courtesy of the Nuka World DLC), a watchtower where one of my settlers can snipe targets and from the front gate and a few stores selling Chems/Clinic, Weapons, Clothes, a Bar and a Trading Vendor. I still got some more improvements to make but I'll get back onto it once I unlocked all trophies for the game
I play on Xbox One, and the turrets actually didn't become hostile towards me when I killed the original settlers *or* when I killed Deezer, so I got to keep them. Pretty cool considering it was a brand new level 7 character, so I didn't have the materials to build them.
I hadn't even joined the Railroad yet when I happened upon this settlement, and I still sided with Honest Dan and Amelia, but I never bothered revisiting Covenant because I didn't want anything more to do with them and I didn't know that I could take the settlement.
One question: Before I saw that video I was too really frustrated about the "hostile settlers" thingy. Now that I already loot the place and without a past save file, how can I turn them into normal settlers? @oxhorn
Same. Did nothing during the attack and don't function after. Also I can only sleep in one bed. (in the guesthouse) All other beds are still owned by the original settlers
in my game, everyone is dead but majorly glitched. deezer stays outside now and the people just randomly manifest. I had to disable them to remove them.... also, it says I'm not allied with the settlement, and won't let me click on the workshop, but I can hold v down and open it and place stuff and remove stuff...... what's going on??
I didn't get to keep Deezer...or his lemonade. He turned hostile on me. Its been a month or two since I did that quest so I don't remember if he was hostile right away or if he came after me for stealing when I picked something up...but I know I had to kill him.
do the bunk beds count as 2 beds? it will only let me assign one settler to a bunk bed, but in workshop mode it shows each bunk bed as two and the same with the queen matress, all in the first house next to the entrance
Really wish I could get rid of the tables in the "Store" house. I'd love to turn it into an official "Shop" with more than one vendor. But the table tops for the "original" vendor pretty much prevent it. Covenant is so awesome, but also a HUGE pain to work with. Definitely for a settlement which you can completely take over with all the original NPCs being killed.
When I started Human Error quest Talia (the women in a mechanic jump suit) and Penny (the merchant) were broken because they kept on saying the same line over and over whenever I tried to talk to them. This probably happened because I didn't talked to the mayor or the guy in the suit when I was investigating. But, most of the characters were just walking in and out of the settlement without me knowing. :(
You should see my Covenant build. The extremes I've gone to save Deezer are a sight to behold. This while I play on PS4 and am at the mercy of vanilla as vanilla gets... no mods... no nothing. Given how much you love this game... I think you could appreciate what I've managed to do.
i've tried disable and delete to get rid of the turret stumps and both didn't work. There's no way i can put turrets in a safe place as space is very limited. EDIT: i discovered what was going wrong. i just hope the Heavy MG turrets will fire thru the wall as i cannot position them close enough to the wall to shoot at anything within 30 paces! OH, where can i find a list of the codes to use to bring named provisioners back to life? i keep finding so many caravan's wiped out with the name of someone i'm guessing could be a quest. I tried 'enable' on Leon Miller but he's still dead. I'll try 'revive'.
Deezer's lemonade goes into a useful donut at Slocumb Joe's. Since you can only get one per realtime day, I pretty much visit Covenant every day I'm in the game for lemonade.
You may want to do as much as you can without mods for these videos (and I understand that choice) but you may want to look into the scaling command that comes with Place Everywhere. You can scale the generators and water pumps to a more manageable size.
i recommend just allying with covenant. They give two extra merchants. some unique npcs. everything that is red can be broken down stored in storage or scrapped. i recommend scrapping all the doors in covenant.
I have a question i looted everything before the settlers came in and started shooting me after they move in and im on ps4. Have you had this happen and do i need to go back before looting to not have them shoot at me.
I did this on the ps4 but if you highlight the turret in the workshop and hold the X button for about five seconds you'll be able to move the turret. You can't store it or scrap it but you can actually move.
I conquered this settlement with minutemen artillery. I didn't had to shoot anyone personaly. I didn't even find parts of every dead settler. That was great fun.
I have been trying to figure out how to build up grey garden, and found this video of yours, as I am watching you video, you were able to use console commands on PC to removed unwanted items. Question how is one "ME" on XB1 go about cleaning things up as you did with the blown up turrets. Seems like console players XB1 / PS4 are more or less up the creek with out a paddle, unless recent updates corrected that. And I am taking in to account the Published on of this video. Just wondering here. any tips you may have I would greatly appreciate hearing from ya. EDIT: where are you getting the dogs from, I no longer run in the guy that sells dogs.
You can get dogs using traps from Wasteland Workshop. I don't know how to do the complex thing I did in this video on consoles. Here is my new Graygarden build for inspiration: th-cam.com/video/sOOXIecDp6g/w-d-xo.html
after watching your video on this settlement, and being able to use console commands on PC, what about hacking the turrets there are holo tapes? or books that you read and in turn give you the option to over ride them. Would work for those on XB1 / PS4. Just a thought here.
You can hack into them, but sadly all you can do is deactivate them to explode them. If you want to replace them with your own turrets, you have to use the console.
Sadly, on XB1 I am unable to do so, unless there was a way to take ownership of the turrets, that would take mod made for XB1, things are so much easier on PC, wish I had one much more up to date, I'm holding my PC together with duck tape almost, $$$ is lacking. I do thank you for your videos, very helpful.
I went against the Covenant, yet those torrents never attacked me, only the OG Settlers. From raids, some turrets were destroyed, but after a while they repaired themselves. Not sure if its a bug or if its normal
After I took the town for myself, killed everyone. The turrets never turned on me. Using Xbone I just long pressed A and was able to move the turrets outside the walls. Once I placed my own Laser Turrets on the platforms the previous gun turrets started attacking the rest of the defense. The result is my laser turrets on the platforms, and a bunch of little fires burning outside my walls.
And what happened to me when I placed a turret the other turrets shot at it and the turret I placed would shoot back at them and when I went to into the workshop to add stuff to Covenant all those two turrets around the base had no effect or value to defense it said the defense was 0 so I destroyed them all
I am still trying to get the beds to go away. I have tried everything. Is there a sure-fire way to delete the beds? Oh, and I spent HOURS watching your videos while tracked in the hospital for 12 days. It was a godsend!
What kind of monster steals a pencil? Disgusting behaviour, truly.

+kikisian This is a great tip. I hadn't even thought of that. Thanks!
havnt tried this. does it work on console? I wud assume that the settlement wouldn't be 'cleared' if there are active enemies nearby....
+Thomas Green I am able to kill everyone without the turrents being aware of my presence. Then I fast travel back to the settlement and claim it as my own.
+kikisian. cool good to know. wikl attempt to do so next time round.... cheers dude :)
yeah i managed that on one of my playthroughs silly blind turrents lmao
You're much better than I.. instead of gravestones, I stripped the bodies of their clothes, took them all to the cell in the office building, and chopped them into nuggets
BasicallyBacon haha love it
BasicallyBacon you forgot the bit at the end when you sold the nuggets as crispy squirrel bits in your restaurant lol
I stripped some of them of their clothes, chopped them up, and then just chucked them into the bathtub outside of the settlement.
@@TheEpicAlec same!
I stripped them all too, but I put Penny's naked and armless body on a tub and pretended that somehow she was still alive
To make the items non stealable you need to kill everyone, deezer AND the cat that roams around. Try it if you don't believe me. The cat acts as a settler

SSG Leuser if only I had a pc
Mr Apple Thief your right.
"Before I looted that pencil." That line is just hilarious haha
Them Covenant peeps really love their pencils.
You put gravestones? I just lined the bodies up in front of the settlement as a warning to others not to mess with me.
Also to be able to loot their bodies once their items refresh.
Derogon I just threw their bodies into the Marburg river like the mafia
Kinda hard for me to drag their bodies out of sight, since you know, picking up pieces of brain matter, eyeballs and limbs is kinda tedious.
lmao, i took the clothes off of the mayor and Mr. Fitzgerald and sat them in the brahmin trough because I didn't wanna keep taking slow trips to the lake.
i dumped all corpses in the brahim feed bathtup outside. Now Brahims feast on the korpses :)
I left all the bodies in a pile out front also but i stripped them first and have Strong out front with a legendary incendiary minigun.
'MarkForDelete' is the preferred console command to use as 'disable' leaves a trace of the object. However, it is much more punishing if you end up deleting the wrong thing. Rick Tobin no its niether its pre bombs

Hey. You can rug glitch shops into those counters, so the assigned settlers will use them. Works best with level 1 & 2, as 3 would be too bulky.

I hadn't even joined the Railroad yet when I happened upon this settlement, and I still sided with Honest Dan and Amelia, but I never bothered revisiting Covenant because I didn't want anything more to do with them and I didn't know that I could take the settlement.
Lucas Miller is an institute informant!
belongaskip evidence?
Rip of failure Read it on a terminal somewhere.
so is trashcan carla
Magic Gonads fuck that bitch
So is that woman who can sell you the spray n pray machinegun
the turrets never attacked me when i killed evreyone in covnent
One question: Before I saw that video I was too really frustrated about the "hostile settlers" thingy. Now that I already loot the place and without a past save file, how can I turn them into normal settlers? @oxhorn
In my game the turrets didn't attack me after killing all the original settlers they kinda just sat there
Same. Did nothing during the attack and don't function after. Also I can only sleep in one bed. (in the guesthouse) All other beds are still owned by the original settlers
My Deezer attacked me in 2 playthrus 😐
Never knew I could have him in the settlement.
in my game, everyone is dead but majorly glitched. deezer stays outside now and the people just randomly manifest. I had to disable them to remove them.... also, it says I'm not allied with the settlement, and won't let me click on the workshop, but I can hold v down and open it and place stuff and remove stuff...... what's going on??
I didn't get to keep Deezer...or his lemonade. He turned hostile on me. Its been a month or two since I did that quest so I don't remember if he was hostile right away or if he came after me for stealing when I picked something up...but I know I had to kill him.
hold up the turrets never attacked me even after I killed all the original settlers
do the bunk beds count as 2 beds?
it will only let me assign one settler to a bunk bed, but in workshop mode it shows each bunk bed as two and the same with the queen matress, all in the first house next to the entrance
Also if you side with the Mayor/town, there is a bug that he doesn't have spoken lines afterwards though you can converse with him.
What if you dont play on PC and only play on consule, cause I play on ps4 and cant get rid of the turret stumps
Penny:"Have a nice stay!"
Talia:"Do you need to use my tools?"
A good move would be to have a railroad wiped synth in Covenant, but they're all humans.
You should see my Covenant build. The extremes I've gone to save Deezer are a sight to behold. This while I play on PS4 and am at the mercy of vanilla as vanilla gets... no mods... no nothing. Given how much you love this game... I think you could appreciate what I've managed to do.
Great video. When you said GOAT test you had me crackin up. SAFE test.
guessing you know the G.O.A.T. is from FO3? but yeah made me laugh too that he rembered that instead :)
+MlDNlT3 MARAUD3R Ah! That's right, I totally got mixed up there.
i've tried disable and delete to get rid of the turret stumps and both didn't work.
One thing you can do to add more shops is use that tree in the center of town as a treehouse and put some up there.
oh, that's nice, you buried all of the old settlers with dignity. I have them piles up behind the first house.
I have a question i looted everything before the settlers came in and started shooting me after they move in and im on ps4. Have you had this happen and do i need to go back before looting to not have them shoot at me.
You can pick up those tires and bring them inside the green area so you can scrap them for rubber if you want.
"72 carrots exactly." That's a big diamond.
2:10 store it in the workshop
Dom the Bomb that’s what he did
Gravestones? I just stripped them then piled them up outside the walls, in a giant heap. They STINK, and create a BUNCH of flies.
you can pick it up manually & go far from the settlement to put it in your inventory without getting any attention
And the dogs don't run away? do use something to keep them from doing so.
after watching your video on this settlement, and being able to use console commands on PC, what about hacking the turrets there are holo tapes? or books that you read and in turn give you the option to over ride them.
Never steal pencils. Commonwealth settlers take writing to a whole new level
And what happened to me when I placed a turret the other turrets shot at it and the turret I placed would shoot back at them and when I went to into the workshop to add stuff to Covenant all those two turrets around the base had no effect or value to defense it said the defense was 0 so I destroyed them all
That is the lake in Central Park that has the remote control boats. No doubt.
I still can't believe the Seahawks didn't run the ball
I am still trying to get the beds to go away. I have tried everything. Is there a sure-fire way to delete the beds? Oh, and I spent HOURS watching your videos while tracked in the hospital for 12 days. It was a godsend!
I don't know if they fixed it but if you join this settlement and don't kill them the turrets it comes with Dont count as defence
