    Wish there was a high end Tensor or Snapdragon 8 Series ChromeOS tablet. Id buy that in a heartbeat
    ChromeOS has matured enough for Google to give the Pixel Slate another go

    I've been looking for a detachable to compete with my favorite Chromebook, the original X2 released back in 2018. It sounds like this one hits most of the notes! Great screen, good keyboard, lightweight, and of course, brand new for greater longevity with updates! My only concern is running Linux apps with the ARM processor on that thing (^-^);

      Your thoughts are dead on. Basic Linux apps should work fine. But yeah not sure on more intensive. But this is the best bet

    Do you think hardware would be recognized by the Android layer? I have a USB-C TV tuner that would seal the deal in buying this.

    I bought the duet 3 a couple years ago. Which I still love using. The duet 5 recently went on sale at BB for m 379. Which is a steal. I got an even better deal- bought an open box for 279. At this price you get an amazing tablet/laptop. I use it for classes, entertainment, surfing the web. Love the bigger screen and as you mentioned, the keyboard. Im perfectly happy with my purchase.

    My man's spitting straight facts thanks for the great review I was really hoping for better things from this tablet although it is beautiful I don't know if you forgot to mention the OLED screen it's not 2K but the old that definitely makes it beautiful. Now for 499 I don't think it's worth it definitely wait for a price drop at least $399 or $429 anything around that I think it's okay The reason why is because I just ordered the Easter spin 713-2021 model and that is 529 right now so for $30 more you get an i-5 processor 11th gen 256 GB SSD NVMe storage 8 gigabytes of RAM and it's a 13.5-in 3x2 aspect ratio 2K screen it's also a 2-in-1 so for just $30 more it it just destroys that tablet. If you really need a tablet with a you know detachable keyboard then I'm glad you mentioned it The tablet 7 is just way better it's 499 so the same price you will have to buy a keyboard separate I think it's really cool to have a detachable keyboard from the manufacturer makes things seamless but I don't know or the tab S7 plus around the same size much more expensive but it would just have a better tablet experience I think the tab s 7 is probably the sweet spot in terms of a tablet. But to each their own

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Exactly. It really just depends on what you want.. I think this is better for productivity than the tab s7. So if you need a device that's a little better for a productivity but still good for tablet stuff, this is still a good option, and the tab S7 doesn't come with the keyboard. But the 120hz on the Tab S7 is much better, and I'd say the tablet is better, as a tablet, in most scenarios. But again not quite as good as the duet for productivity. Plus I like the duet keyboard better. So depends on what you want.
      I did mention the oled at some point in my review. But yeah. It's a great device. Will definitely be worth it at $400. $500 is a lot but I still think it's worth recommending.
      But it depends. You got a way better laptop for the money. So if you don't need as much tablet stuff you made a great choice

    • @cobaltblue5523
      @cobaltblue5523 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AndroidDigest oh I forgot to say yeah the tablet seven doesn't come with a keyboard but it does come you know with the the stylus included so that is an extra cost that you save on typically USI styluses cheaper than the Galaxy you know attachable keyboards so now you just got to balance it whatever Samsung always has some deals and trade-ins and stuff but yeah I really I really don't recommend anyone getting it for $4.99 it's bound to be on sale cuz the the regular Lenovo a duet goes on sale quite a bit so I definitely recommend people to wait this one out but again I was just really expecting a better performance from it because in every single review it has the original duet was so good price for value the only thing you needed to work on was speed of the device the processing power and the the speakers so the volume it's still a great tablet honestly and you could always get a Bluetooth speaker or whatever and in terms of speed hopefully updates just make it faster but yeah and really the men it's crazy how much you have to research into what you actually will use it for or need nowadays cuz there's such a huge variety

    When the keybboard is detached, more tablet functions are enabled. I have an IPad Pro and find some apps like facebook and email are better on lenovo. Page loads are slow on some apps but TH-cam loads quickly. I think most problems are with apps. The HP USI rechargable pencil works well with no lag and good palm rejection, great for taking notes. The sound is thin, not distorted, and fairly loud.. I think this Lenovo is great for video chats.

    I currently have the Asus cm3 thinking about getting this. Are the speakers and performance worth the upgrade ? The cm3 has a bit of lag and freezes in my experience

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think the speakers are necessarily worth it. I think performance and the screen size are a pretty big difference... If you've ever used a Chromebook with an i3 processor, It won't be that big of a jump or anything. But it's still pretty significant in my book. I don't think you'll get as much lag or freezes, But I will say for all the trouble you're going through switching devices, maybe reselling that CM3, it may not be a monumental jump that you were hoping for. But it's still pretty significant in my book. But I think the speakers are just average and significant jump from the CM3

    It's a nice-looking tablet, I think I'm going to hold it off until a definitive Chrome OS tablet swings by. Somewhere 11"-12.6" display, high refresh rate, higher-end ARM processor with a competitive price.

    It is a great Chromebook. However, I find that the OLED screen white color is on the 'warm' side as white looks yellowish compared to other 1080p screens. Lenovo admitted that it was done on purpose for reading eye protection. Too bad there is no further adjustment in Chrome OS to make it 'unwarm'.

    What about an Android-based TV tuner hardware? I have seen those and wanted to buy on, which works on any Android phone or Android tablet to catch local OTA channels. If the TV tuner can work on this Duet 5 on the Android side, this is an easy buy decision.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the Android app will run on the Duet 5, you can also go to the website (teams.microsoft.com) and access Microsoft teams on the web. You can even click the 3 dots in chrome (in the top right) and go to more tools and create a shortcut, essentially making it a web app. So you have the web and the android app as an option and the web, and if one of those options doesn't work well, you can always use the other option.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's hard to say. Generally speaking, most web extensions are safe, but there can be some malicious ones that will collect your data, or redirect you to other websites you shouldn't go to. It's on a case by case basis. I don't use an adblock and not sure which extension it is, but yes, it is possible to get malware from an extension, I'd read the reviews and research a little before downloading if you aren't sure. Or maybe someone else will comment with some extensions.

    Worth it just for the OLED display. Why were you using a Windows 11 PC to complain about ChromeOS ?

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Chrome OS is one of my favorite operating systems. I primarily review Android and Chrome OS and I've made Chrome OS my sole computer several times.
      I am one of the biggest advocates for Chrome OS. But Chrome OS has had some bugs in tablet mode. Most reviewers aren't honest enough to tell you. But I did. But in the end, I recommended this device. Assuming you don't NEED specific windows programs I explained this is a great device. I could have said "even if you don't need windows programs, it's better, get windows" I didn't. Chrome OS is more secure, it's faster if you have Chrome OS with the same specs vs windows, because it's a lighter OS. And it's more productive then an Android tablet when using Chrome OS because you can have multiple extensions, and multiple instances of Google Chrome. And a Chromebook laptop is my go to recommendation again for anyone not needing windows.
      Don't take an honest critique of SOME flaws and think I hate Chrome OS. I love Chrome OS. Just talking about a few bugs for a minute doesn't mean I'm "complaining". Just trying to be fair. In the end, I LOVE Chrome OS. And I recommend it to everyone!

    Why are you not doing any digital arts review on any Chrome tablets? That will give the viewers a good idea how much it can handle complex work stuff. You could do a collaboration with Michael ClaRIDA OR Aron Blaisse for the review and let them draw on it. Allow them to give their thoughts on it and also on what it lacks in Hardware and Software department. Many of these are missing in all 2 in 1 tablet reviews.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your input! I really do value it. This doesn't come with a stylus or else I would have at least shown a stylus off. But collaborations can sometimes be tricky, and when I need to get one video out a week (roughly) and I move on from devices quickly, and work a full time job too, it can be difficult to coordinate. Plus I'd have to have that relationship, send the devices to them and back, etc. So there's a few reasons why you don't see that. I really do love the idea but it's a little harder to execute

      Very unusual. But I have had Chromebooks on occasion have this weird glitch once and it's never happened again. You should try leaving it plugged in, and holding the power button for 15 seconds or so.. if that doesn't turn it on you can always try holding the power button and the refresh button on the keyboard (top row, around 4 buttons to the right). Again, hold for like 15 seconds. Eventually it may power on. And you may never have an issue again. Worth a try. Just got mine loving it just have a few minor issues. For whatever reason I can't get my phone to link with the Chromebook at all I've tried doing a hard reset on the phone and power washing the Chromebook 3 times it still won't link. It's says waiting for the phone to verify the connection but I never get the notification on the phone to link it

      Just got anyone wondering imo it's a big performance upgrade. My cm3 had alot of lags and freezes haven't had much of that on the duet 5 much smoother performance and incredible battery life

    Does the keyboard still slide around like the original duet when closed?

    • @AndroidDigest

      No. Magnets have solved that. I mention it towards the end. Very briefly

    Sorry if it's an odd question: can this model be used as a 2nd screen for a laptop ? Or can I plug it to a TV or monitor and have a 2nd screen this way ?

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You should be able to use a tv or a monitor as a second screen for the Duet, but don't think it will work the other way around

    Can you use a bluetooth mouse on it?

    • @AndroidDigest

      Yes absolutely, works with pretty much any Bluetooth mouse

    The keyboard connector.. is it still kind of loose?

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well it doesn't magnetize to the tablet, in that sense it's a little loose, but it's meant to be that way. But no I'm not experiencing any disconnections or anything, but it's meant to be a little flexible so that I can move from side to side on your lap if need be

      @@AndroidDigest thanks one more question. It's the Chrome OS on this version of the duet 64Bit? I have the older one and it's 32bit and it hinders me from doing certain automation tasks.

    I rather have a blue tooth then a detachable tablet with keyboard. I had the smaller one 10. inch and did not like that one. The sound was terrible on that one too. Good video dude. I like your videos I subbed and subscribed recently.

      Thanks so much for the support! Means a lot! You might like the HP Chromebook X2. It's been on sale for $400. And I hated the detachable keyboard it had, But I thought the speakers were pretty great. It has a 2K screen and a fingerprint scanner. And you plan to use a Bluetooth keyboard anyway. All this, assuming that you want to use a Chromebook

    Does the Duet 5 come with Microsoft Office?

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. On Chromebooks, Microsoft office only works through Microsoft office online. Technically that is free, and you just access it through the web. They used to have the Android apps that you could use (which you had to pay for Microsoft office 365 to use) But I read an article saying they were taking that away. You still have the free version you can use, But I do prefer using Google docs and the Google services anyway

      After student discount I saw it for like $350. It's a great deal! I think the duets a little bit better for productivity, with full web extensions in Chrome OS. But I think the FE is the better overall tablet
