The video is very informative and helpful. It’s great to see people that humble, but hey, every “big” TH-camr was once small, you just earned yourself a new subscriber here. Cheers.
Thanks Zach. Agreed keyboard is better on the Duet 3 b/c it's _less cramped_ + _sturdier_ than the X2 11. The HP has a bigger trackpad solely due to the taller aspect ratio but a flimsier deck. Nice extras on the HP but I like the Lenovo's wider screen for videos (16:10 vs. 3:2). Both are very nice.
I was surprised when he said he's just a small TH-camr yet his production quality and presentation is right up there with 100k+ subs. I ended up getting the Duet 3 as an excellent condition open box from Best Buy for $260. So far so good.
Thanks for the compliment! Seriously it's great to hear! I still don't do as many fancy things with cool side to side shots or cool zoom ins. But I'm glad you are still enjoying the quality of the videos! That's what I'm aiming for! Hope you enjoy the holidays!
Yeah the Duet 5 seems like a very solid choice. I'm thinking along the same lines. I just realized that it's smaller and lighter than my old Asus C302 that's only 12.5".
Okay someone commented that my index finger was terrifying (on another video)😂😂. I commented on it and somehow it ended up under your comment! haha. Your $10 is not terrifying. Always grateful for the support! This is a little second job for me, so appreciate you Sabrina.
The HP MSRP of 599 is just way too high. I know it's been on sale for as much as half off, but it's still kind of wild that they even try to get away with $600.
To be honest it was on sale for half off for nearly 2 months. It would go back to $600 for a few days, but immediately go back on sale. I don't think it stays at $600 more than a week or two at a time. Still, you are right, you shouldn't need a $300 sale to make your device worth buying! Should just be $400 or $450 retail price at the most.
It's just a business strategy they put it at a high price so that way they can say it's half off I've seen it go as low as $2.99 The decimal points in the way but you can also get it at Best buy for like wallets on sale for even lower price with exceptional just always check those items never ever buy MSRP always wait for a sale and you always you know check other websites and use what's it those apps or visit like Campbell Camel they they compare the prices over like months and then they'll tell you when it's the lowest price but yeah it's never ever get that for 600 bucks that's not worth it at all but $300 to $50 is not bad The HP
I think the Duet 3 has slightly louder speakers. But the speakers aren't terrific on either or super loud on either. I will say it's been awhile. I may have mentioned in the video, I can't remember. But the speakers aren't a huge selling point for either device. I did review the HP and Lenovo separately, and I briefly mentioned the speakers in those videos, so feel free to check those out if you need to
I don't know what's going on lately. I can't seem to find a lot of the good chromebooks. I believe the HP X211 is discontinued or something. It's not listed anywhere besides HP's site and it says out of stock. Tried Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Target. Even did a google search. I'll probably go for the Lenovo Duet 5 since it seems to be on sale on Best Buy right now
Thank you so much. It means a lot. It's been a while since this video, I think we are getting more tablets this year hopefully with a lot more power. But I haven't heard of any imminent launches or anything. So these are still two of the best we can get on Chrome OS. For now.
Just picked up the Duet 3 8GB RAM/128GB eMMC on clearance for $220 directly from Lenovo, includes the pen and kb cover. Nice premium built quality. It's snappy too. Good deal.
I really really enjoyed the comparison video. It was very very informative. I really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really hope you make more of these. Thanks!
Unwanted to try chromeos and stumbled upon the 2-1's and decided to go with the Duet 5 which i got for a great price of only $240. 8gb, 128gb best buy version. Love the larger 13.3 screen which is OLED and its a pleasure to view videos on. The battery lasts a long time and it's pretty quick for daily use. Not too heavy either when using it as a tablet.
There's absolutely no reason to worry about the Chromebook Lenovo Duet speaker volume problem. There's a super extension called Volume Master that will raise the sound 600%. Works great.
that's a really tough call. you will get way more software support on the duet. like 8 years worth. you will get a full desktop version of Chrome and web extensions, but Android apps will still work. you can also buy a stylus, but it has to be a usi 2.0 stylus. The S6 Lite already has a stylus, but no keyboard. It's going to be a little bit better for running Android apps, it will have less bugs with the touch screen keyboard, but I think the Duet screen is a little nicer, performance will be better on the Duet in Chrome, maybe better on the S6 Lite for basic tablet stuff. honestly I lean towards the Duet, especially since it comes with the case and keyboard, but it's a personal preference
@@AndroidDigest @Android Digest Yes, the added accessories are definitely a plus for the duet. I just hope that the duet will handle the Android apps in tablet mode well enough. Your input is very helpful, thanks so much
Good review. Did you test Android app performance on either of these? I'm looking for an upgrade from the original Duet, which I can only get to run Android apps (e.g. Kindle) at an acceptable level if I disable all my Chrome extensions, and even then it's laggy and takes 10-20 seconds to start up. Another review of the HP mentioned Android apps still didn't perform great even with 8Gb so suspect it might be a more fundamental problem with Android support on these spec of devices.
I do expect they will perform better than they did in the original duet. But it's still not fantastic. A lot of that has to do with the processing power of the device. This doesn't have an i3 processor or i5 or anything great. But it's still much faster than the original duet. There is an 8gb of RAM model of both of these now. That will help even more. But it still won't be as good as just getting a good Android tablet. As far as Android apps go. I just use the Chrome alternatives for most things
@@AndroidDigest Thanks for replying. Yes I can use web-based apps for most things but Amazon have not quite got the user interaction in their web Kindle reader right yet.
Thank you for doing this. I was really confused, bet. The two. I was told though that the Duet 3 does not have a pen in the marekt that supports it. Also how is the speakers on it is too loud.

the hp is really nice but I can't see it being worth the extra money next to the duet. Sure an included stylus is amazing and I think many might look for that but to me it seems like buying the duet and a stylus like the penoval one would be smarter :) Good Video 👍
Yeah I prefer the Lenovo for sure! But the pen, sd card slot or fingerprint reader may convince some people. I try not to let my preference dictate what I recommend, I think they both bring a lot to the table assuming you see them for a good price.
