I have heard or read somewhere that a brand-new Chromebook will only turn on with a power adapter for security reasons. That way you know it if was tempered with. But I don't find a source backing that up right now.
I have the 8GB RAM variant. used mainly for multimedia consumption and a few times I use it as an office laptop while working from home. I also activate some chrome flags to enhance the user experience. I bought this device since I want to have the convenience of switching from tablet mode to laptop. The AMOLED screen is gorgeous :)
I. have the same variant. Great battery-life, slim and great value with the case, keyboard and pen. Obviously not a power-house, but great for my use-case. The screen is capable of great video-playback and photo-viewing, but I am susceptible to the cross-hatching and rainbow-effect of cheaper OLED panels and I get quite a bit of both with this. Mainly affects white backgrounds when reading text, but it's not a deal-breaker. Overall, very positive.
Yes. I just bought this device 2024. I needed a Laptop/Tablet that can fit in my purse. I am very Happy with it has everything that I need since I Travel alot and am away from Home.
This is a great device, I do not see any issues with the cover and also a tablet this size is not meant to write with your thumbs, This is a tablet great for work with an amazing size for planning and writing. If I want to write with my thumbs I use my iPad mini...
Thanks for sharing, maybe my unit had an issue! But if you dont use it as a Tablet, why didn't you get convertible Chromebooks like Asus flip or Lenovo flex? They are better for productivity tasks! I'm asking this as I'm trying to understand different perspectives. For me personally, if I don't need the Tablet function I would go with the Laptop format, where I will have a better keyboard and trackpad.
Let's hope Lenovo will fix the slippery keyboard cover on next generations, it is very annoying, when I put the duet on my backpack it does not enter in suspension and drains all my battery. Nice video!
I think its mainly thought for artists as they can take advantage of larger screen. For web surfing, gaming or reading in tablet mode is defiently not suitable.
Great review awesome tablets collection to compare! Chromebooks in general need to be plunged in to start for the first time. its confusing i know. the not included pin is a deal breaker for me since I've to deal with the hole in the back without a pin!
Thank you for doing such a great reviews on this chrome tablets. Any recommendation of good 2-in-1 Chromebook tablets? I'm using Lenovo 10E/Duet and would really want a more powerful machine. That can handle multiple tabs. Like I can play youtube, netflix, browse facebook, amazon, reddit or play spotify and open discord with no lags and whatsoever
I think even the original Duet would be able to do does tasks and you might get a really small lag. Duet 5 and HP X2 11 have slightly better Performance and they feel snappier than the original Duet. Sometimes the Chrome OS updates are buggy and make the devices slower. For example, the latest stable Chrome OS made the original Duet faster and I notice fewer lags. I will compare the performance of these devices with each other so stay tuned.
Thank you very much for the long awaited video. I have watched many reviews, but recently, i have been looking forward to your video the most. I had to subscribe! ☺️ I would like to get my first chrome os device (tablet). Please can you advise which one i should get? I am considering the HP Chromebook x2 11 or the original Lenovo duet. I don't think i want the duet 5. Please i need your help/advice 🙏🏽.
Glad I could be helpful. I would say if you have the money go with the HP X2 11. It has few issues which I talked about it in my previous videos. But, it feels much more premium than Duet. Especially if you can get it for around 400 $ or €. Duet 5 is also nice, but the tablet functionality is not the best as the screen is massive.
@@amsatt Thanks a lot for responding. I have been seriously searching for the HP X2 11, but unfortunately it's rare to find and above 500 £ (I'm in the UK). That's why I thought of buying the first Lenovo duet which is easy to find and very cheap. But if you think it's better to wait for the HP price to go down, I'll keep waiting. Thanks!
glad you enjoyed it! For multitasking with 4 to 5 windows open, it has no issue, and the CPU performance is quite good. I pushed its limits with Opening 8 TH-cam videos spontaneously and there you could see that it is getting slower (the RAM was full). But this is not what you would do in daily life.
tough question to answer as I don't live in Italy. But if you just search for Lenovo Duet 5 on google you should get some recommendations where you can buy it.

Thats the main problem when you dont buy iPad or Samsung tablets. There are alomst no 3rd party accessories available to purchase! www.amazon.de/MAMA-MOUTH-Compatible-Schutzh%C3%BClle-Hochwertiges/dp/B0B4RHS9RQ?th=1
I tried some and they work quite well. The problem is just the screen size. With a Gamepad the experience will be much better. Didn't try the Gensin impact as my internet is not the fastest..
Hello Can I use Video Player like Mx Player/Vlc inside this Chrome Tablet as Native Applications (Full Screen) Because I'm using them with Full Screen in My Android Tab P12 Pro Lenovo!!! I don't have Experience for Using Chrome Tablet/Laptop!!! 🤔😬🙂
you can use both Mxplayer and VLC android apps on Chrome tablets, similar to Tab P12 pro. Additionally, you can install the Linux enviorment and install full desktop version of VLC application, similar to what you find in Windows\Mac devices.
@@amsatt Wow so Both App are also Become Native in Chrome Os ( not like that App inside BlueStack in Windows Version with no FullScreen Mode ) Thank You Very Much Sir for Explaining it, because 13.3inch is Very Good for Watching Movies & TH-cam, Bigger than 12.6 inch! 😃😄😁

that's also my concern, such a design failure. thanks
Thanks for the balanced overview. Chromebook manufacturers can never win with the bezel size 😂
What is the name of the pen you referred to in the video?
I have used two pens on this video:
Lenovo USI Pen and Penoval (Andana) USI Pen.
If this is large in tablet mode. I can only imagine how big the new Samsung galaxy tab s8 ultra will be at 14.6 inch screen size 🤔

Pen hole is just weird. At least they could include the pen holder.
Thank you for the video! Is ist possible to install Kodi on this device and does it run stable?
the Android app works without any issue. For the Linux app, you have to check to see if it supports arm64 processors or not.
How does auto update policy on a computer thats a few years old.

Where you buy this device?
In Germany I got it from OTTO.
