Glow recipe is literally my favorite brand when it comes to skincare, I personally do not think this was a copy because of the time it takes to make products like this one and because glow recipes "thing" is fruit based.
I think the term “copying” is used to loosely, “inspired by” is usually more accurate. And products take too long to make for the team at Glow Recipe to rip it off, it probably was just a supplier trying to make strawberry have a moment with two companies that happen to like pink and red.
Nobody is copying js *eye roll. Glow recipe is notorious for coming out with fruit themed products. The watermelon toner, the Avacado retinol, the banana moisturizer etc. This is literally what they’re known for.
Also why would glow recipe want to copy Jeffree star that's like Gucci copying Claire's 🤣

This video was so annoying when she was reading the ingredients and saying "omg tea are they just copying ALL the skincare lines and throwing it all together??💅👀sus.." she got my click bc I was curious if there really was a claim but its so obvious shes trying to fake something "salacious" out of nothing for views
I love Glow Recipe. Yes, they started with a Watermelon line, but they’ve since added Banana, Blueberry, Plum, Avocado, Guava and now their Strawberry serum. Looking at it that way, it just makes sense. Their last couple launches (aside from their new sunscreen just in time for summer) have been “active” serums, so an AHA/BHA was pretty much expected to be next. It was definitely a product they needed for a full range of skincare, and many other brands have been recently adding a product with those ingredients, strawberry aside. Also, as you said, these products take years to formulate. So I highly doubt they were copying anybody.
PS. IMO, anyone affiliated with creating for Morphe, is sketch to say the least.🤷🏻♀️

Did anyone else freak out when Cassandra used five pumps of product? 😮 I’ve used a few Glow Recipe serums before and I only use two pumps max!

As a Glow Recipe stan: the Strawberry AHA/BHA & the Guava Vitamin C are muuust haves~ Both are positively lovely, gentle with an oomph, and smell divine 💕

I've never tried glow recipe- I honestly couldn't even justify their price bracket until I saw this product and now I'm like 🤔🤔🤔 it suits my needs and its Cassandra approved. What more can be said
There are only 2 glow recipe products I don't rate ( the blueberry cleanser and the watermelon toner) but everything else is sooo worth the money
I use their watermelon Niacinamide dew drops and watermelon moisturizer everyday for months and LOVE THEM. They’re perfect under makeup and actually dry down with a beautiful glow!
Their watermelon moisturizer is my favorite (I'm on my 3rd bottle.. my most re-purchased skincare product)! Plus their papaya cleansing balm, avocado syrum, & toner are so nice.
I feel like there’s a better case that they’d be copying Jeffree star than the ordinary, since the ordinary’s product has nothing to do with strawberries

Also, like.... Find me a popular brand that DOESN'T have an aha/bha product. Just off of the top of my head there's versed, purito, olay, Palmer's, revolution, good molecules, L'Oréal, la Roche Posay, relatively certain Naturium has one, BeautyBay has one, think bliss has one but don't quote me on it...
Editing to add DE, Paula's choice and Cosrx to the list! They also all have some cult favourite AHA/BHA products. The implication that it's some unique thing the ordinary has is absolutely ridiculous
Even within their own line Glow Recipe has other products with BHA/AHA (the watermelon toner). I have a CosRX snail serum that is also an AHA/BHA. Across the industry nearly all product lines will repeat ingredients.

I love how you explore everything with your products. Like..
Literally everything. You go about the relation to other products, the development of all products looking at the next best thing, the fact they could be from the same labs and thats potentially where the similarities come from, but also explore that they've potentially just identified the best of all products and combined it to ensure an easy product for people who want simple routine or struggle to understand what chemicals to mix and what to avoid.
Then you go and patch test and do the full review. It's very sensible and dedicated, but you also have fun with it.
I am a science nerd, so I feel like I'm watching a research project being carried out 😂

Been waiting for this vid! Cause i genuinely love this product i’ve only been using it for two weeks but damn my acne is significantly reduced for the first time is a loooong time i love that this also (though not marketed with it) has Azelaic Acid (my queen!) its my new favorite glow recipe product hands down.
I've been using this for a few weeks now and love it so far! It smells amazing (like watered down strawberry, not at all like cough syrup to me), it applies and layers really well without pilling, and I don't get that annoying peely skin on my nose anymore. Absolutely no dryness or irritation from my experience either. I'm definitely putting this in the same category of their avocado ceramide serum as a total win 🍓🤌🏻
If they launched their new product in 3 weeks after Jeffree's lunch... there's no way they copied him. It takes several months or even years to develop a formula and launch it on the market.
I absolutely love the Glow Recipe! As soon as I found them I fell in love. So when this launched I had to get it. It helps my acne a lot but I also use the skinfx face wash and spot treatment. I love the way they work together! I don’t have any peeling problems so I’m happy about that. I agree about the Niacinamide, it’s nice but the ordinary and good molecules have great ones that don’t break the bank! I love watching your videos, they’ve helped my skin soooo much!!!

I have also heard amazingggg things about The Ordinary, among other companies - so feel a little stuck! As far as what to use! I'm not sure where the best place to ask questions/give suggestions is but I would love to see a video sometime in the future where you cover malassezia safe product suggestions as i feel like its not something a lot of creators really do and it's really hard to find good products you can actually use with this condition. I've been binge watching some of your videos recently and it's always really sad when good/fun looking products are shown and I can't use 99% of them after putting them through an ingredient checker and it's hard to find good skincare in general. Love the videos, keep up the good work!
Love Inkeys Spot Treatment for my spots and/or acne/inflammations. Not sure, it it works wonders, but it certainly works ^^

I don't think Glow Recipe is "copying" though, Glow Recipe is known to put fruit into skincare products, so it makes sense to add a strawberry line.

I wanna see this strawberry extract being made. Why don't we know these companies? Where are the huge factories that must be used? How come I've never met an extract professional?
The percentage of AHA is so low that I wonder about any long term effectiveness, especially compared to the cost. Having no problem using the Ordinary, I don't think this would be effective in helping my skin. The ingredients sound great, but how much of them are there? The percentages are far lower than what I use... sounds like it'd be great used with other products, and if someone already has decent skin.
Glow Recipe is a fruit skincare line so I doubt they copied him. I’ve been using their strawberry serum for couple wks now and love it.

Strawberry is not exclusive to anyone. I’ve seen a few brands focus on this ingredient already ie Fresh Strawberry Exfoliating Scrub, Volition Vitamin C Serum etc. More brands are hopping on now.
I don't know/don't know how much I super care if they're copying/inspired by someone else, but my skin has been LOVING this serum! I've been wanting a lower maintenance skincare routine, and an apartment fire condemned where I was living, so I've been given a chance to start over with skincare (ouch that was a lot of money getting my routine back) and since my skin LOVES to just eat up every last bit of hydration and moisture, I tend to go through serums faster that a lot of other people. I LOVE the strawberry serum to layer with a moisturizer. I find it's no longer sticky with a good moisturizer or a really creamy moisturizing serum on top. I'll get some stinking if I have any broken skin, but I expect that anyways. I'm HOPING it continues to work with my skin this well and helps keep me as clear as it has the past couple weeks. If my skin continues to LOVE it this much, it'll be worth it being one of two or three serums for me! I picked it up when looking for their sunscreen (didn't find the sunscreen but DID find this serum) and I've been mostly using it every night, and it has made my skin SO HAPPY!!!!!!!! It's definitely pricier than I'd like, but honestly, if it knocks down having 3 other serums for the acne, it's worth the price to me. Having one do it all serum for acne prevention is fantstic. I personally am mostly using this and the pacifica C and Sea serum and their vegan ceramide serum and whatever cheaper moisturizer I have on hand, and it's been great. Also playing with the peach and Lilly lactic acid serum sometimes, but it's definitely not as helpful to my acne as the strawberry serum. I think I've just found essentually my own personal golden ticket. LOVE it! I didn't find it to pill up with my routine. But DANG is my skin loving this one!!!!!

Succinic acid was popularized and put on the skincare map by The Inkey List, yes; but I’m pretty sure Glow Recipe is not the only brand to use it before this product. Just saying.

Here's the thing....
Glow Recipe is similar to Tatcha, meaning that many of their products are good products but its not strictly necessary for the price point. The eye retinol cream, worth it. This product is good. The rest...OK.
If you can afford it, great. The biggest benefit is they feel/absorb well on the skin. But cheaper products will do the same job.
I have this product and I love it, I’ve got sensitive skin and usually actives irritates it so was worried at first but it didn’t - smoothes out texture and complexion very well.

Hey one ingredient that is really is effective at least for me is zinc it really is amazing ingredient for acne you should make a video about it and share some product recommendations my top 1 zinc product is the ordinarys Niacinamide and zinc serum every time I stop using zinc my acne comes back

Cassandra! Actually there is a new Strawberry Rhubarb line from Eminence for summer, it also launched recently. Can you please try and review products from Eminence Organics? For some reason they make my skin INCREDIBLE, but when doing some research about the ingredients I have found mixed things online. I specifically use the Stone Crop wash, the Calm Skin Peel, Kale C+E Mask and Clear Skin Probiotic Moisturizer. Just wondering how Eminence compares to Tata Harper, Dr. Hauschka, and other "natural" lines.
Cassandra I would definitely check out Eminence ! They released an extension to their strawberry serum, and dermafoliant recently with a strawberry concentrate, body lotion, and eye gel. Literally gold 🪙 I'm a professional esty also, just wanted to share the other strawberry line that's out there 🍓
I’m all set with my GlowHub Purity and Brighten serum, with salicylic, black tea ferment and blueberries 🫐 Geek&Gorgeous Cheer Up with 6% Mandelic acid and salicylic acid at (I think!) 2% I also love Revolution Skincare’s salicylic acid serums; right now I got a 1% BHA with meadow foam/marshmallow.
But I’m more into galactomyces, tremella/snow mushroom and other mushrooms, snail and peptides. And good old retinoids of course.
But during the days, I settle for my galactomyces, peptides and mushrooms. And I seal it all in with a good spf.
Oh I don't care ordering now 🥰🥰🥰 glow is my fave. I don't like spending the prices but I do with this brand.
I chose to try this because I don't exfoliate my skin really. Super dry and sensitive skin. But I wanted to add a gentle exfoliator and something with Hyaluronic acid. This was perfect, because it's relatively low in the Salicylic, and Succinic/Mandelic acids do well with my skin. Also, I have azelaic acid and niacinamide in my Curology and I love it.
I can actually exfoliate twice a week without my skin going absolute hay wire. I've only ever managed to MAYBE do it once a week or less with most other products. I actually live off of their Avocado Ceramide Serum

I want to love GR but everything I have tried from them breaks me out, I thought I loved this one but then the second and 3rd time I used it it burned my face and broke me out. Omg if I put that one day and night my skin would fall off lol I wasn't expecting u to use it that much, I used it like 3 or 4 times a week and I can use the DE baby facial treatment sucks I thinking maybe I'll try it more that it may be something else but idk I am sad I want to buy the dark spot serum too but as I said everything I tried has kinda been a problem on my skin.
As someone who used everything from GR for 3 months + , having a hydrating spray/ toner helps the products not peel when layering them. You do have to let them seep in. Or if you don’t let them deep in, use less than you usually do so when you’re applying them, they play well and you’re able to massage it in. Yes, I used everything from their balm to their night cream.
GR is the type of brand that will just give an instant glow, it won’t better your skin or at that make it worse. For the price it’s a pass. Kehiels and YTTP give that glow with like one of their products. For what GR does, personally I felt ripped off for what they do.
With J🌟, not only do you get a glow but actually get hydrated.
Personally, as someone who does apply a lot of the product I use, I think you might have applied a little too much, maybe like three pumps would have been well. Their products have a decent play time when massaging it in.
For GR to say that they are environmentally friendly or whatever, they sure suck at getting all the product out. That and it’s just upsetting that you can’t use all the product. Why pay premium when they miss that mark, you’re paying a premium for not able to use all their product. I think that if they want to survive, they need to change a bit.
The only products that are worth the money is the Avacado ceramide and their watermelon toner. Tbh it feels like they have gotten lazy with their production of products. As in their formulation is questionable for it to work.
Honestly just disappointed, my respect for them has gotten down, and that’s sad. YTTP has similar price and seems to work better.
Ugh honestly I’m just disappointed and I feel like they are just doing cash grabs now.

Hello Cassandra, can you recommend similar products because Glow Recipe (AHA BHA Serum) doesn't ship to Belgium. I've been using/alternating The Ordinary Granactive Retionoid in Squalane and La Roche-Posay Effaclar Serum bust it doesn't seem to do much pore-wise and texture-wise. Thank you very much
Strawberry might be the new trend, the skin care brand we sell at my spa has had strawberry products for years, but they just added new products to the strawberry line.
Very interesting product. I wonder how it is on sensitive skin. My skin already stings with mandelic acid (only very lightly). So I wonder if this is a softer formulation then the by wishtrend one.

I tried this serum when it came out and i love it so much.
Also this seems pretty standard for glow recipe. Their whole thing is fruit.
And the acids are low concentration so I've been finding it to be super gentle. It's not as powerful an exfoliant as the direct acids from the ordinary. But it feels nice and my skin feels nice.

That’s actually not true, strawberry has been popular amongst Korean skin care brands for over 20 years, Laneige being one of the most popular with their strawberry yogurt mask.
Strawberry is a unique one to use. I think the only strawberry things I have seen were a scrub from Fourth Ray and I do see strawberry in some sheet mask ingredients. But you don't usually see that one being used. And Fresh has that strawberry face wash.
