For me and my kids, this game is a 10/10. It gives us everything we were hoping for. The fond memories will stay forever...so many hilarious moments.
Having an online mode from the start is definitely a smart move in Nintendo's part seeing how we're still in a pandemic state.
This game brought back the memories of owning the N64 as these games were what brought my wife into gaming with me.
They were great at Christmas (after the Queen speech obviously) and parties. These were the only games that my parents got involved in and they didn’t understand the appeal of video games back then.
I’ve purchased this version on Switch and have already got time put aside for the family to play at Christmas. Difference being now I have two young adult children so as it’s a 4 player game we have had to arrange a league table.

The overall consensus from most of the streams I have seen is board variety. Boredom has already set in and the need for new boards is a must. Nice to see a refreshing look at the Mario Party series after its downward spiral.
This game is absolutely amazing! I personally loved Super Mario Party, but this game is even better. The boards especially are so much more unique and memorable. I do miss the unique dice blocks and partner party a bit, but overall it’s such a blast to play this with friends.

Been having a good time with this game playing random people on boards is always fun. Wish there was more board hopefully future DLC

Honestly it's worth the price even with 5 boards. The amount of boards is not a negative, and they are going to update it anyway. This is the best option for a good party game on Switch
Yeah was going to say this is one of those games definitely worth $60 forget the boards there is so much more you can do with t he mini games and daily challenges are great to spice it up everyday and survival is addicting
Got it 50% off at Target this Black Friday! Looks like there aren’t any more boards, but first play through was great! Bought 3 total copies, one for me, and two for extended family so we can hopefully play online (we all live pretty far apart).

I've only ever played the previous instalment of the series and one thing I noticed straight away is that the minigames in this one have a learning curve. I can see why the games are fan favourites because they do require a bit of learning and mastering. This does make it less appealing to introduce to brand new players because those with experience will slaughter them easily.
Many hours spent playing 1 and 2 with friends as kids, tempted to grab this for some Nostalgia, but may wishlist for now with SMT5 about to drop.
Son getting this for Christmas, can't wait to play it. Oh and SaveDex Gaming is an excellent friendly channel that's definitely recommended.
I love your reviews always! But the more boards issue is fine with me. It could of used a few more but then it could of used a few more after that🤷🏻♂️I’m happy with it as I mainly play Mario party 95% the time just mini games.

I love this game. I never got the chance to play any other Mario Party games but I saw people having fun on the previous game though I heard it was bad with a new game coming out so I waited for this and I'm glad I did. I don't have people to play it with but playing with AI is still fun because in some ways during the mini games the AI aren't perfect even on the hardest difficulty and feel like people plus it has matchmaking which I've had no issues with yet.
I do hope rumours are true for more boards to give variety since a couple are a little too simple and even the better ones can get repetitive.
My and the misses bought the last game a few months ago and we've some right good laughs playing it, especially with our 3 year old involved. I might be picking this one up......pending review 👀
i almost bought this the other day but i was stuck on getting super stars or mario party. what are peoples preference? (ive never played a mario party before)

For me personally it's a great game for the switch. Me and my 6yr old daughter been having alot of fun with this. Well worth a buy

Might be because the Wii versions is the one I grew up with but lack of motion control is a deal breaker for me.

I would get this if I had friends who play it, but it also came out too close to GTA and SMT, so the most it would get from me would be an add to my wishlist. No doubt it's fun though.

I know this is unrelated, but in your previous sales video you said that by purchasing Crysis 1, you'd be entitled to a discount for the second and third game, too. The price hasn't changed for them on the eShop.

Can this game be played offline like a couch game play?
Can’t join multiplayer with 2 players on the same switch. So no friends/family and online mode at the same time like in mario kart. :/ It was a big downside for me and my wife.
Other then that it’s a great game.

the quality is there already. This game is selling gangbusters. Its practically guaranteed they add dlc. Nintendo are notorious for supporting games that do very well in sales.

Looks fantastic, but needs more boards and games or a lower price. £49.99 is just too much for the content on offer. It's worrying that, like the Golf and Tennis Mario outings, this seems slim on content out of the gate.

Alright guys, I know you've been waiting to hear this for quite some time: for me, it's a yes!
I have indeed been waiting, and now that our savior Spear-Twirling Bokoblin has approved, I myself will follow in their great footsteps and purchase this game.
Is it worth trading it against super Mario party and paying the extra though ? Is it better or worse or more of the same ?
It's effectively more of the same although I think most would say it's better than Super Mario Party.

I'm glad this Mario party game is getting much better reviews. I bought the last one and it was quite a disappointment. I don't always love Mario party games but it is one of those games that I like to dip in and dip out between generations, and for the series to be gone entirely would be a even larger disappointment!

To me this shoulda been a 20-40 buck dlc for those that have Super Mario Party already on switch both individually lack enough content for $60 each. But i know Tendo gunna Tendo so a pass for me

If this game ruins a friendship, you and your friend need to get your lives sorted out. You have much bigger issues than winning/losing at a video game. Plus it isn't a friendship you should care about losing if it's over a video game.

Was pretty disappointed with super Mario party with online play only being added much later and the maps not being too interesting compared to past maps I might end up selling it in order to pick up this one!

Looks really fun, but 5 boards(not even original ones) seems really stingy for an $80 game.
I’d say I’ll wait for a sale, but let’s face it, it won’t go on sale.

I think that after 15 years of mediocre to downright horrible Mario Party games I'm fine with a game that finally at least has 5 quality boards.

@@erikludwig5515 I think Mario Party DS was the last good game in the series before Superstars came out but 8 was also pretty good. From 9 onwards it was just awful.
It's crazy to think that the Mario Party series on Switch thus far can't fork over a few more boards even though Smash Bros Ultimate and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe are relatively complete packages/compilations of their predecessors.

Value should be more like 8. Most people would have already bought super mario party and therefore would feel even more robbed by buying this.
