Hey Mr. Millennial Farmer Put a camera on top of your Grain Bin across from where the New Shed is going to be built @IversFarms did that when they had there HUGE NEW GRAIN BINS BUILT that’s where I got the Idea 💡 from
Been wrenching on heavy equipment for 25 years. And it makes me happy to see someone else use a big ass wrench as a hammer, because it's in your hand already.
Of you don't hammer with what's in your hand do you even work on stuff? I've used a multimeter as a hammer before... ( I don't recommend it... But I worked...)
Jim has to be the best farmhand in the world.Cracks jokes when something goes wrong to relieve the pressure. And is just an all round nice guy.I could sit and listen to Jim talk all day.Think he'd be a good influence on Onyx should he want to get into farming more!
Love it that you still have and use the Minneapolis Moline. I have a Super M that gets started up almost everyday for chores and it was manufactured 2 weeks before I was born in 1953. My grandpa bought her new and she has been in the family for the last 68 years.
Just wanted to say thank you Becky for your hard work. Also, thanks Zach for the very hard and tedious work you do, and everyone else too. Will be neat to see the new shed going up. Soon in spring we will be cheering on the little one's.
As for taking a timelapse of the new building, get a trail camera with a timelapse mode and set it to turn on just before sunrise and off just after sunset. Put it on a nearby tree and boom, a bunch of picture in order at the end of the build.
We love the fact that you show the great work Farm Rescue do! Helping those less fortunate than ourselves is so important and part of what makes us human.
Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable. Lots of jobs to do after harvest is done. Tillage kicks into high gear. Replacing those knives on Jim’s machine can’t be cheap. Those are heavy duty steel knives. Wow. Amazing how they have worn down. Glad to hear your new building is about here. Will be nice to see it going up. Glad you are going to help a farmer in need. Important to do that. Best wishes to your dad and his surgery on his wrist. Take care dad. Speedy recovery. My blessings. All for now. You take care and be safe. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks for everything. Thanks to Becky for her video work. The Iowa farm boy.
Those Wishek discs are absolutely awesome BIG and HEAVY DUTY.......and do an amazing job in all soil conditions......😁😁😁😁😁 ( and require a ton of HP) and they break like every other machine does.....
Massive respect to you Zach and Becky, the work you guys put in around the farm and your family to keep us updated and entertained is amazing and deserving of some kind of reward! It’s also nice to see you have a nice easy harvest season after everything you have been through this year! Regards Aaron from the uk
Zach, I appreciate that you pointed out which direction the field was in. If you hadn't, I definitely wouldn't have been able to figure it out. You do a great job explaining things to your viewers. Keep it up!
I always look forward to the opening few seconds of each vlog with the 2 pups. They make my day. Favourites of all the dogs on my chosen you Tube channels. Like someone else has already remarked on, I also love how you put down the complainers before they have a chance to complain.
I've watched for years now, and you really don't get a sense of scale sometimes, but in this episode, holy moly, you just don't realize how heavy and big some of these parts are! BTW Jim's smile each day, great to see!
I know what you mean about being dry, this year I stopped getting rain around May 15th and got 12" over a week and a half on August 19-27th then like another in somewhere mid September and the last 3 weeks we've got hammered with 4" and we are forecasted for another 2" starting Wednesday till Friday. Been to wet in the fields to do any fall tillage or plant any winter wheat on my ground.
Thanks for the video I enjoy watching the farm equipment working and how things are explained I was raised on small farm nothing big we raised our on vegetables
Wish your dad well with a speedy recovery and no more pain. It's a good soil naturally runs down the hill to the bottom wouldn't it be prudent to pull it up towards the top again instead of letting it wash away? You have to dispose of that disc, you might want to consider welding the hole in the center and make a Wok out of it. They hold the heat nice and cook really well. Thanks for all you do and abundant blessings to all
Zach, it's so awesome that your kids are interested in running that big equipment. Especially your girl. They will have some great memories and work ethic. Keep it up !!!!!
Great video! The OG Nate is going to be rebuilt from the ground up, two knees and a wrist. I am glad, I really enjoy Nate. I think we need a Nate cam and if that goes well, a Jim cam ... LOL
Zach have you ever tried welding some hard face on the points? We used to do that on our mouldboard plow bottoms. Made quite a difference in longevity.
Have you ever thought about face hardening the ripper teeth. It is a welding process. You will see it done quarry equipment. I think it would add a lot of life to the teeth.
My daughter and I love watching your channel! We appreciate what you do and I'm happy to learn about the farm industry. You and your family are an inspiration. If I had a few extra million dollars I'd start a farm of my own. 😅
Love your videos here in Texas. Thanks for all the support you give back to the community and thanks for giving me the entertainment while im traveling for wildfire duty across the US. I always look forward to the next episode
Love your videos. I have watched every one and it's great to see your kids working. My 13 year old would just love to be able to ride in a combine. Thanks for posting videos and looking forward to many more
Winters here. 6-8" snow starting Thursday morning. Buttoning up stuff for winter. Saying goodbye to the ground till April..lol. we farm with Wit and Grit up here in Siberia. Lol. Northeastern Minnesota. East Iron range.
Everybody needs a Jim around to pick on and get stuff done!! Time lapse of the new building would be cool, or just do what you usually do it will be great!!
Hi Zak in Great Britain here we’re having a huge spate of thefts from fields and farms it’s mainly the electronics you have same on some of your equipment the guidance and auto steer plus wiring to so pls be careful out there god bless
Would it be easier to power wash the bolts free of mud instead of doing it by hand before dragging all that dirt into the shop? I realize some soils wouldn't be easy to wash out (ie clay) but was just a thought. Keep up the good work! I am getting hungry!
In 2012 we had a 140 mph straight line wind come through and slid our 20,000 bushel bin with 900,000 lbs of corn in it about 2 inches on the foundation because it is held down with j bolts.
Great Zach loved it you got enought done almost time to fertilizing and let go til spring and start cleaning the equipment and put away and do service checks never miss a video and always can't wait for next one
Ask the Welkers, they did a great time lapse on their house building. I think I noticed a collapse in the bottom of the mount where you pushed it together with the skid loader. I hope I'm wrong.
Hey Zach. I’ve been watching your videos for a number of years now and they are as good as the first ones I watched. I do have something to point out on safety since I have seen things that would make you cringe. When working under the ripper, I would like to think you have ram stops in place just in case the tractor suddenly bursts a pipe which would result in a crush’s Jim and millennial farmer. I’ve seen some nasty pictures of people that have been crushed, not to death but hospitalised for a very long time if not permanently and that would be a major loss to your family and friends. But still, I love the videos! 😁
That Wishek disc sure cuts up the ground that nothing else will cut! I wonder where that disc scraper ended up? 🤔 I hope a tire doesn't find it next year. Until your next video ~~~Stay safe, healthy and happy! 🚜 🚜 🚜
Zach, (HEAVY DISK)..... look into a universal/central grease system and look at applying to other equipment...... Save a lot of time and maintain a "perfect" application system/schedule
I must say that while I enjoy all of your videos so far this has been one that I have really enjoyed. I enjoy seeing the real side of farming where stuff has to be repaired and or upgraded not just showing fieldwork. I am kind of surprised that you didn't pull the bolts from the grain bins and replace them as if the wind was that strong to be able to pull them up well I would be a little leary that the concrete might be too weak in the current holes where the bolts are. Either way, GREAT video so keep it up!
Jim just adds the perfect touch to any video! Nice to have a good helping hand when it comes to farming

I cant even use a multi-meter regular without breaking it. Hahaha.
@@kajones7272 I never said it didn't break... Lol. But that's what epoxy is for 🤷
Hey Zach, send prayers for a 100% successful surgery and quick recovery for your father. Thanks for the video.

Thanks

Thanks to Becky for her video work.
The Iowa farm boy.
Cool trick ,fill the bolt ends with silicone, keeps the dirt out,and easy to remove when needed.
Well wishes to your dad. I had both of my hands done for carpal tunnel.. he will be happy with the results. It's a game changer!

Best of luck to Dad and his operation. I hope, and am sure, all goes well. 🙏
Like your videos ZACH and your modified racing to bad we Don’t have Manzanita in PHX i use to work in a farm years back we need more farmers 👍👍👍
Every farm needs a Jim
Speedy recovery after the surgery for your dad!

Great video 👍 👍
The way you got that heavy disc out of the truck was the perfect way to do it.
With YOU carrying it, and not ME! 😁
Not bad for an actor eh? He must be one of those 'method' actors 😂
Gloves maybe?????
@@Galerak1 Thank God for stunt doubles!

Zach have you ever tried welding some hard face on the points? We used to do that on our mouldboard plow bottoms. Made quite a difference in longevity.
that’s what we did to our plows bottoms and you hit it on the head. worked perfect lasted about twice as long
Seen that done a lot on construction equipment, bulldozers and excavator/loader buckets
Man those weeds really got turn up did a great job. Great video can’t wait to see the new shed going up. See you in the next video

Interesting perspective on the disk, I didn’t realise they were so big until you wrestled it out of the ute.

Well wishes to your dad I. guess it was a relief to get all the field work done
Not said enough, Becky thank you so much for your hard work with the videos and podcasts. Why yes I do know where Morris, Mn is.
8:58 I spit out my drink. Nicely done, Zach. And you owe me a Dr. Pepper.
😂 I was in the office when Becky edited that part and I also nearly lost my own Dr. Pepper
Speedy recovery with that wrist Dad!
Good to see your old man getting along so well after that knee problem.
In 2012 we had a 140 mph straight line wind come through and slid our 20,000 bushel bin with 900,000 lbs of corn in it about 2 inches on the foundation because it is held down with j bolts.
Hello and welcome to my channel how long have you been in my channel?
Me and my dad love you and videos keep doing what you are doing
Bel trattore ! bel video. bravo.
Love the channel!!keep em flowing
I got the last of my tillage done Tuesday and expecting our first snow Monday
Want a little trick to get the mud out of the plow bolts? Pressure wash the plow tips outside. Pull it in the shop and remove the worn out plow tips.
Great content Zach👍👍👍
really like your sense of humour and of course the great hound dogs. Great video.
Hello and welcome to my channel how long have you been in my channel?..
I really didn't appreciate the scale of all that equipment until seeing you hold up that disc. Amazing!
no kidding
Farm equipment is BIG
It'll be something to see them Biden Battery powered tractors pull this stuff around🤣🤣
I would love to sit with Jim and your dad and listen to their stories of growing up, two very interesting men
Careful in lifting the steel disc to prevent injuring your back disk.
But he did take off the back one!...oh you mean the one in his back... Hmmm... Bah just fuse it. It'll be fine
Thank You
U need to get a needle slag remover for cleaning the dirt around the bolts very handy 👌😎
Great Zach loved it you got enought done almost time to fertilizing and let go til spring and start cleaning the equipment and put away and do service checks never miss a video and always can't wait for next one
Just Wow on the cultivator
Love watching you form Australia
Could you add a hard facing to the points of the ripper? A nice winter time welding project.
7:27 So you use a disk harrow instead of a cultivator, right? The disk harrow is used for light tillage, correct?
You were asking for cold miserable weather - its on its way. East glacier Park -11 (minus 11) and 40+mph winds.
You so funny! Remind me of my brother in law. Miss him a lot!
Wishing your dad well with good results!
Hello and welcome to my channel how long have you been in my channel?.............,,
Ever thought of investing into a rome disk? They make a nice line of heavy deep till disks that do great for opening ground up.
Ask the Welkers, they did a great time lapse on their house building.

Dad wearing the Canadian farmers shirt at 4:49
God you are funny Zach😂😂😂 I really enjoy your humor, thank you a ton for making these videos, they are really fun to watch!
Hello and welcome to my channel how long have you been in my channel?..
Love your videos and I've been a fan since day one❤️
How-about using a scale option - Bunch of 1/16" needles that push in/out based on air. Drive the mud out with lots of tiny punches. Just a thought.

thank you
Love your Dad's shirt!
Mom and dad had a one of those disks with a tube welded to the top/crest as our Christmas tree base.
Your Dad's shirt is awsome ! Canada represented 🇨🇦
