I can't believe some of these comments these people need to chill and grow up . MV Freedom keep these videos coming - this is one of my most favorite channels to watch - I even make my wife watch them too :) be safe and happy travels
You both rock Keep them coming, And yeah the buffing and waxing are excellent and your windows looks so so clear Job well done Love the preparation part of the video before casting off and during passage and the navigation watch. Thanks and take well care
MV Freedom, this is my first post ever for a video. I live in Japan but originally from New England and have been kicking around the idea of boat living for a few years now once my retirement starts in 2022. Your videos and following another one called Mermaid Monster have been extremely helpful to me. You seem like very genuine people with your travels off the boat being very interesting but you also seem to bear the brunt of people who are miserable and borderline hateful for some reason that’s not your fault. Please keep up the interesting videos and realize there are many around the world that enjoy them.
Here on the tug, we use Rain-X. By the way, great editing! BTW, I'm pretty sure that watching your videos makes my blood pressure go down. They're always so pleasant and relaxing.
You guys should look into small e-bikes for your little treks into town. I seen some that are boat friendly with a dog basket attached you would be good to go.
Hi Guy's, Like your videos and showing tasks that are all part of it. Yesterday we boated the Apostle Islands in Wisconsin with family. Today I replaced old Windlass covers. Always something. Your tips are always appreciated. We all learn from each other as you know. Take care.
I’m from New Zealand, not a boatie, but enjoy learning about the wider world through videos like these. I am amazed though at the torrent of abuse from these haters, there is no justification for that, and I for one will make sure that Orcas Island is not somewhere I will ever visit, they sound like the most unfriendly miserable people on earth. Keep up the great videos and ignore their bs.
Happy Birthday Mr. Sully !!! Elizabeth & Shawn I think you have found your favorite getaway spot now. What a beautiful island with all the shops and restaurants. I really enjoy each and every video you post and can't wait until the next. You have made me consider maybe living aboard now as it looks like a wonderful lifestyle. Stay safe and have a great week coming up.
And I thought I was a clean freak....I just use plexus for the clears and windows. I do get cleaning envy watching the videos... the boat always looks good..congrats
Nice video of Eastsound. If you're up in the islands for awhile, try Stuart Island if you haven't yet. Lot's of nice trails and check out the treasure chest.
Enjoyed Mr. Sully's day! What a lucky dog living the sea life. The scenery of the islands and water is really, really, really beautiful up there. I agree that was a nice little town to visit.
3:22 - Yes, take Elizabeth's advice and make sure to include Washington State Excise Tax into your annual operating budget..It's steep! The excise tax on our little 23" Ranger Tug is over $480 per year. My wife worked for "Ms. Oprah" from 2009 through 2011. She often refers to it as the longest decade of her life! :-)
We have a little run about, starting to explore the San Juan’s this summer. Looking forward to the different locations that are so close to our Lynden, Wa. home. We have learned really fast to keep an eye on the winds, the south winds can make things really rough in a short amount of time.
No, never waxed my windshield - but will now. Shawn I noticed the smaller drill buffer, what type of pad do you use on glass? What type of wax? As I’m in New England and don’t cruise PMW (yet) I love the technical aspects of your videos. Plus you’re basically living on my ideal retirement boat, so love seeing how you operate. That’s a nice thing about your channel: good balance of tours, tech, and boat life. 👍😎👍 And HBD Mr Sully 🎉
Happy Birthday Mr.Sully! Good morning from Cincy! Have you ever tried ceramic coating?.... it’s amazing and so easy to apply. Have a great week be safe and well!
12:40 is actually the court yard of the Episcopal church!!! Ocean front worship! I went in (I'm Episcopalian) and listened to a concert they were practicing for. I Totally concur that East Sound is WONDERFUL!!!!! Also so is Deer Harbor around the corner.
@@mvfreedom That labyrinth made from grass and cement pictured in the court yard is an ancient Episcopal church metaphor for the spiritual path that we are all on. The view of the sound is spectacular when you realize it's a church yard over looking the water! TMI? lol

I have never tried waxing the windows on my pickup but I’m gonna give it a go after seeing Captain Shawn doin that. I’m bad about having clean and streak free both inside and out. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SULLY 🎂🎉🎈🎊 great video as always 👍🏻🇺🇸😎 thanks and y’all be safe out there.
How cool is that. We’re cruising with the Aspen folks next Friday x ten days I’ll have to ask who was Eastsound on the 4th. You guys are one of the couples we follow that has led up to this purchase. Looked at the Nordhavyn 35’ in Anacortes, feel in love with it but decided we wanted the speed. I get impatient when ice cream or Sushi is calling my name in Victoria etc. I’d love to hear what you said about it? Thanks again
We too love visiting Eastsound. But WOW what’s up with the haters? I understand concern during these times but.... I for one enjoy your videos. Keep ‘em coming!
Mike, we normally like visitors too. But we're in the middle of a global pandemic, on an air ambulance dependent island. Also not sure if you're from WA but there's an essential travel order still in place.
What a lovely spot, guys. Don't get scenery like that in good old England. Happy Birthday to the pooch, too ( you could have brought him his own, Mr. Sully sized ice cream). :-)
MV Freedom Sweet - I can’t walk more than 1-2 minutes at a time now, and can’t stand much longer - Looking into surgery for my busted up back this year
Skip Fran oh that’s horrible! I had some back issues a couple of years ago and know how life altering that can be. Thankfully I nipped it in the butt reading about the McKenzie Method and seeing a great PT. There’s so much you might be able to do to heal your back without surgery 👍
MV Freedom Injured in 1994 - Worked as long as I could - When I couldn’t walk very far I was forced to retire early (Severe RA and other crap precluded me working any longer) - Afraid that it is time for surgery after 26 years to keep me marginally functional (Very tough to sail now) - Got tired of sitting around getting old and bought a sailboat which I sail on Lake Ontario and the 1000 Islands section of the St. Lawrence River on the New York/Canadian border

Absolutely 💯% correct. I hate spots on my windows,Specially when sunlight is in front of you...makes it even harder to see clearly. You guys are doing awesome job as always 👍🇺🇸💞

If the perfectionist captain says wax the windows I would wax the windows. That boat is probably an 11 on a scale of 1-10.
He is on it. The high hulls on the nordhavns are tough unless your 6'7" like Shaun. ..dude has a wing span..

Way to go Mr. Sulley! Happy Birthday bud. And, thank you to the crew! Be safe.
This is one of the best episodes. We have the same dynamic with the work on the boat, let’s get to dinner crash.

Still in Penn Cove? May have to go there one of these days. Hey y’all from Roswell Ga. It’s been fun following you. Best of seas.

Fortunately Sully doesn't get hangry! lol Happy Birthday Sully!
Learned about Rain-X while working on my dads crab boat decades ago.
We stayed on an air bnb boat in Shilshole a few years ago and had so much fun.

Griots Garage has a great selection of small high quality buffers as well. Use those instead of Milwaukee or Dewalt. Lots of review videos..
