Thank you for your comprehensive review! I've read elsewhere that the box should be wood sealed to prevent mould growth. Is this something you would advise based on your own experience?
The box I have is mainly in a lot of light and not really subject to damp for too long. I have not noticed any mould growth. But, I would suspect the wood seal would help it last longer if mould growth is something that you experience. Sorry I cannot be of more help on this one.
Looks like this is just for small birds. I live in Pensacola, Florida. Would this be good for my area? We don't have many tiny birds. We have mockingbirds and cardinals.
Thanks your for your comment. I have messaged the supplier and have asked them about this so I can get the correct answer for you. I am not familiar with your area and bird sizes there etc. So, I would rather get you the correct information. Once I get it - I will place a comment here if that is ok.
Please see their response. The birdhouse comes with different entrance hole sizes, making it adaptable to birds of various sizes. It should be a great fit for birds in this area, including those like mockingbirds and cardinals.
Interested in this box but I ah e a query about the mesh plate at the bottom…isn’t there a danger that the bird’s feet could get trapped in the mesh bottom?
From the research they have done with this birdhouse / birdbox - once the parents place the nesting in the box, the mesh is not near any babies and helps keep the nest dry as well by elevating it from touching the bottom of the box.
Ok, do any birds actually come nest in it? I have looked all over for this birdbox to see if birds actually nest in it and can find no evidence. I won't be buying until I can see that evidence.
Great review! Thanks for making it!
Thanks for watching and your comment.
Just got one for my wife’s birthday 🎂
It is very cool. It looks like a premium hotel for bids once setup.
