    Excellent job. Well done. One thing I might add if I were doing the job is I’d fill in the hole where the gas line goes thru the cabinet to help keep mice and other rodents out of the cabinet. I repair grills that are set up with all kinds of cabinets and let me tell you, if there’s even the smallest opening for a rodent to get in, they will find it. Just fill that hole with steel wool or some wire mesh.

    The project came out absolutely seamless and beautiful. I myself would have utilized that closed off space to the left and framed in a small fridge. Great job

    I bought this as my first propane grill. It's been a fun, learning experience th-cam.com/users/postUgkxCx5fHawkK9OoV-ojFrY8JLnZrFwAmvUt . I think it's a bit too pricey after looking at other grills, but it wasn't hard to put together and it works really well. I love the side burner option for heating food during a power outage. I have an electric stove and live in the South (Hurricane season), so this was a bonus. I also bought a cover for it and it has protected it nicely (the Char Broil All-Season Grill Cover 3-4 Burner: Large). Every few grill sessions, I take the rack (or grate) and burner covers off and clean them with a non-abrasive scrubby and mild soap. I wipe the excess off of the bottom as well, taking care to avoid the gas and pilot lines.

    Great video! Have you heard of ConnecTubes? You can build a real steel frame without welding. The system is super cheap and uses steel couplers and 1.5 x 1.5" square galvanized steel tubing. Highly recommend you learn about this building product to use for bbq frames etc... The price is comparable to track and studs. They even have telescoping cutout kits for less cutting.

    Very professional bud! Looks great, informational for us. I’m not a fan of metal frame work for cabinets but it’s not my house anyways and regardless turned out stunning and clean. Question, the product you used for the sides or the concrete sides, why not use a white concrete? Not criticizing whatsoever, just wondering if that’s not possible because it’s vertical or if it purely was the owners preference to paint the concrete? I think it’s be beautiful to have that natural look using white cement mixed with a natural river stone for contrast. Anyways I really enjoyed this project and the quality of materials and your keen eye and experience made it easy to love!

    • @BYOTools
      @BYOTools  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great to hear and I truly appreciate all of the support. I did a lot of research on what is the best product to use for that type of application. This produce is specifically designed for exterior vertical surfaces, which is perfect. The material consistency is completely different from concrete, which is why it was so easy to apply it to a vertical surface since it was thick but easy to smear on. It only comes in grey haha. Great question though and thanks so much for watching.

    Ok our project is finally getting to the point where we are ready to apply the Ardex OVP. I am noticing that sometimes there is a feather finish cement used to cover the alkaline tapes and screwheads. Did you not need to do that because Ardex will always hide cracks?

    • @BYOTools
      @BYOTools  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great to hear Diana and good question. The Ardex basically acts as the same product that would be used to cover the tape and screwheads in any case. Going a suggestion that I may have for you is that you could mix up a small amount of ardex and apply that to the tape and screwheads first. And then apply your Ardex over the entire surface after that was dry. It might make everything go a little bit more smoothly in the long run. Thanks again for watching and hope you subscribed.

    Should not have used thread tape on the fitting from the reducer to the yellow line. That is a self sealing type connection, similar to a brake fitting on car or hydrulic lines (looks like an AN fitting), and the tape could hender its sealing ability.

    wonder what the weight of this is (exclude the concrete countertop). Thinking of building this on top of my deck. I assume the aluminium and cement panels would be lighter than full wood?

    • @BYOTools
      @BYOTools  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question Salvador. This system is definitely lighter then normal wood frame construction but there is still some weight to it due to the cement board. Probably 200 to 250 lbs still. Thanks for watching and for subscribing.

    • @NoRoads2AllRoads

      @@BYOTools 200lbs for the whine thing is more then fine especially given the foot print. My deck was built with 2*6s 12" on center... According to the tables it says upwards of 100lbs per square foot of load. 200 lbs the whole unit works be a piece of cake

    When I saw the Grillnetics cabinets for the first time I was impressed by the looks of the sections and the concept. After watching this video, and looking up the cost of the units, I am concerned with the quality. I thought the welds looked sloppy and it makes me wonder about the quality of the entire structure. Please give me your honest opinion of the quality and value of the Grillnetics products.

      Hi Rick. Thanks so much for watching and your support. I can honestly say that I agree with you that some of the welds are a bit messy and could be a bit cleaner, however that doesn't take away from how strong and amazing this system really is. I love this system and I know it can be an expensive one for sure but man o man it is a very nice system all around.

      Great suggestion James and I may try that on a more simplistic project in the future but unfortunately its not realistic with the types of projects I take on. Those types of videos are normally slower paced, which basically means that this video would be most likely twice as long if I did it that way and I don't know if people will toon in for that long to see the whole project. Do you like the points in which i'm in front of the camera or walking with the camera and talking?
