Why does rallying SUCK in Gran Turismo 7?

- So, Gran Turismo 7 is now here and it's incredible on both PS4 and PS5! However, there is one feature of the title that seems a little... off?
That feature is off-road driving and rallying. We have seen some of the other content creator's videos focussing on this as well and were thankful to see it's not just us noticing this issue!
So, let's take a closer look at what is up with the rallying in GT7!

Project Cars 2 proves that you can have circuit racing and rallycross in one game and do them both well.
It also feels like you're driving on ice/mud. Driving the Sport Quattro, a purpose built rally car, on dirt, it's sliding around like it has no grip at all.
I cannot drive this thing to save my life not with a controller or with a wheel it's absolutely fuckin garbage
No matter how I set my car up (or not), GT7 Rally is infuriating. I’m actually pretty good at road racing … but rallies? It’s like a goddamn nightmare. wtf Polyphony???
I hate it so bad its like driving on ice.
That’s what makes it fun for me I love the drifting
Bad physics, bad track design.
I got the same exact car as the 1st place NPC driver. Still at lap 7 the end, hes like 2 miles ahead and I have never gotten better than 5th place. With perfect driving! 🤦♀️
I had problems to setup Porsche 930 to tracks, but at rally i used my normal setups from dirt rally and car was pretty funny to drive. Still its too slippery and unrealistic, but fun to drive.
Recently got GT7 and a g29 wheel. I found that using the wheel was almost impossible on the rally tracks.
I could barely get a complete a lap without spinning out every turn when using the wheel.
However when i switched back to the standard controller i took 1st place in just 1 attempt.
Just got a t300 I thought maybe I just really sucked! But doing a rally stage on the wheel is almost impossible!
Menu 37 was where I finally said f..k this game and stopped playing it. Rally in these games is hard enough with the PS2 style physics to top it off its a single line rolling start nah f..k polyphony and f..k sony.
Why EVERYTHING sucks in GT7?
I absolutely hate off road racing in this game! I don’t know how people win these races!

Rally racing in GT7 actually seriously sucks. I built a Mustang GT for rally, and I couldn’t even go through the first corner on Fisherman’s ranch. My car literally turns by itself without steering, and it revs like crazy. I even bought a Nissan Rally car and it’s just the same. Not even different..
Every time you turn you can’t even keep the same speed you had. At this point remove it and revamp it

I've been playing for a while and rally even on beginner is fucking rediculously hard. Idk why. Or how to make it easier.

I will say I have only played a few rally races but I have reallyyy enjoyed them. I didn't feel any exagerrated jumps at all, but that could've been because I was using a (Toyota) Tundra.
Or could this possibly be because of the patch?
The trophies show that more people have achieved gold on all licences than have won 10 dirt races. This just proves nobody bothers with it. Drop it.

My problem is the damn physics of it.....
Being a cat who's grown up in a rural part of the world and has drifted around a LOT of turns on dirt, i can safely say this game doesn't line up very good with what I've personally experienced 🙈
The rally racing in GT7 made me turn the difficulty to easy 😑 ...and im STILL on the struggle bus 😂/😭
Real Life: Slap on some dirt tires and you are good to go !
PolyPHONY: Nahh, we will allow you to put scates on these cars to do dirt scating !
"Real Driving Simulator" yeah sure...if it were like that, I would be dead a long time ago.
If you want more people to watch your videos, do more tune set-ups. A lot of the first timers will love that. You don't even have to be good at it, just give people that little bit to help them with the campaign.
One of the great things about this game is, we know they will try to fix it soon, and we won't have to wait for years.
They stealth patched the rally jump physics in patch 1.06. The cars behave alot more realistically now over jumps. Try it if you don't believe me, even my 700 HP Group B cars have basically no issues now.
And broke the licenses at the same time 🙈
This game is broken trash.
