What Josh did last summer was so underrated. Not many people knew his same, heck many still don't. Yet he nearly made Team USA in an event that turned out to be more stacked than ever on the world scene. His brothers are super talented as well

One thing about your videos that is excellent is at the beginning listening to the coaches break down what and WHY they are prescribing a particular workout. A useful video series might just be clips of what coaches say about particular workouts. Their decisions about distance, rest, workout etc. This is super helpful.
Also as far as your videos, I love using them as background noise while exercising and also when my son and I go the track for his workouts and he is stretching, warming up.

Also to add to previous, I enjoy the athletes talking about why they are doing something, their tips, their mileage, their workout plans. It all helps me as a parent grow in working with my son co-planning his workouts etc. thanks for doing this!

Altitude by itself is hard. Hills by itself are hard. But put them together…. some of the hardest training you can do. Killer workout.

Josh Hoey running 1:43 was a HUGE UNEXPECTED COMEBACK in 2024. I remember competing against him in HS. He has come a long way!

well done, great session, a little irregular between 3 and 4 of each series. It’s still tough, respect. How much % elevation.

I do enjoy watching these workouts , it’s a good insight 😅 . It looks like he slowed down time wise the last two reps of second set . If you use the Norwegian method each set should be faster overall then the previous set . If not , they shut down the workout . It’s shows your body is not recovering enough and you’re building up too much lactic acid .

    • @caseymanos7077

The third rep was run very hard, so with the same effort reps 1-2 will be faster than 4-5 of each set. The goal was clearly to get lactate very high, being able to dig deep enough is what is needed for the 800. Norwegian method is more for mile-10k

    • @ZATHURAKEY

@ still not adhering to the rules of lactic acid training , each overall set times should have been faster while his lactate should have stayed around the same level for each set . Anything else is too fast and breaks down the body more than build it up

    • @caseymanos7077

@ It appears the main goal of this session was specifically to reach as high of a lactate level as possible. He mentions he couldn’t do this before until recently, so it’s something they have been looking for. Therefore they’re not following guidelines based on keeping lactate the same and progressing each rep. Not all lactate training has the same structure or goals. rather than just being able to clear it effectively, at some point for elite 800m racing you have to be able to produce sky high levels to withstand 2 laps of near sprinting. The tradeoff is not running nearly as good of a 3k like Jakob for example but that’s not their goal

@@ZATHURAKEY i get what you saying but that wasnt the goal for this workout. the goal was to get lactic high and then run through it. essentially to force him to be comfortably uncomfortable thats why his father kept telling him to keep form
