Lots of times for SOG members, it was attached with the slide keepers to the stabo itself. Kinstrey tied it to the belt portion of the rig so that it was hanging underneath the magazine pouches.
Man, 1971 and He was Using Outdated Kit Like This? I Guess The Local Color Palette was Especial But Only Classic Fieldcraft Black Paint smudge On Olive Drab Uniform? Sad to Not See some Glove Inclusions but Thanks for The Great Display, It’s Beautiful
Thanks! Yes, all of the equipment included (and not included) in this display was based on photographic evidence and personal accounts from John Kinstrey himself. Had he worn gloves, I would definitely have included them! Many recon men used this era of equipment late into the US involvement in the Vietnam conflict. In fact, m56 gear can still be seen well into the mid-late 70s.

Hey! I’m sure it’s weird seeing this video - likely weirder for him. I hope it’s clear that I’ve got nothing but respect for your dad and what he did! I haven’t gotten the chance to talk directly with him one on one but I hope he also understands the sentiment. When learning about the SOG teams, I stumbled upon some photos of him, Don Greene, Phillip Hoffman, and the team that caught my eye. And learning about their stories was all the more fascinating. It was a rabbit hole from there and I figured I would be able to highlight the history and their stories in the best way I knew how. After some chats in Facebook groups with him and after gathering as much information from photos as I could, I wanted to put this together to fulfill that goal. Though, I am sure there are many things I am missing. I hope all is well and thanks for the comment!
John kinstrey is my grandpa, super cool to see his story being carried on. I’m sure he’ll enjoy seeing this video
This makes me proud to hear, thank you! My grandfather also served in Vietnam!
Being not only a Vietnam War buff and reenactor, I'm also from Alabama! This is super cool! Thanks for uploading!
This is amazing
THANKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How was the xm28 gas mask bag equipped to the STABO ?

@@The.Gear.Locker10-4, I could never figure out how it was attached under the pouches like that might have to try it on mine.
Nice job! I have been hosting Vietnam Airsoft events myself!👍

I’m sure he’ll get a kick out of it!
So this was filmed in New York, California, or Massachusetts?
Are you using an airsoft gun or an AR-15?
This is an airsoft replica, unfortunately in my state it is illegal to own anything related to a CAR15 👎
