Make sure to check out Minuteman Studio’s (@minutemanstudios1338 ) channel! His content is fire and insanely underrated! Sub to him (and me too I guess)
In the 506th in 1970-71, my dad said that they were not allowed boonie hats, used them in the field and in some firebases but in camp, not allowed. Apparently brigade or battalion CO thought they looked bad. Also, they wore no slings in the rifle because they would get caught on everything in the jungle, mostly in the ashau valley.
Also I love Moore militaria, luckily for me I only live an hour away from Collage Station so shipping is quick, also I know one of the guy’s who works there.
Little Brother Gear was set up for you. You personalized it based on what you can scrounge, experience level IE a boot straight from training might set his up like his team leader and squad leader told him to. You might change out to canteen pouches for your magazines. 5 20 round magazines fit in the pouch without the canteen. Most only carried gas masks if they were using CS on the operation.
In the early sixties my father, Army, still on active duty till early seventies, I was about 8 yrs old, anyway, he gave me a lot of the stuff you have, stuff for me play with as a kid, it was just junk, novelty items for me that he got somewhere, extras, supply left overs in his unit, Ft Carson....whatever he picked up for me to play with, pretend. As I got older and lost interest in Army gear, it was lost or thrown away. He did three wars, WW2, Korea, Vietnam. All that stuff was fun when I was a kid.
If your still interested you should collect military gear from the eras he fought in! That's so cool that he fought in ww2, korea and vietnam. Intersting. Thanks for sharing✊🏻
Same here, still have some of my dads gear from his time in vietnam. Used to love it when he'd bring home c-rats after being on maneuvers while stationed in Germany in the mid 60's!
Great JOB......!!!!!! EXTRAORDINARY Video......... Excellent Detail for anyone who is seeking to understand what the Vietnam Combat Infantryman was carrying...... Keep up the great work......!!!!
Is the M16 a replica? You have a nice setup. Do you by chance have any recommendations where i can buy an M1 helmet preferably WW2 Korean era for a decent price
@@SteelPot1970 Sometimes you get lucky with Ebay. I got a WWII era McCord ex fixed bale shell that was converted postwar to Swivel bale plus P55 liner for $60 a couple years back. Just recently converted that one to a Airborne helmet since I came into a 1967 Airborne liner that came with a late WWII Schleuter helmet. The liner still had the original chincup and sweatband in it. I posted a video of the Airborne helmet on my channel.
I don't think it is. I've seen some 1st Cav guys with them late war. Mine came with my rucksack so I didn't buy them separately. You might be able to find some on eBay or other online stores for a decent price.

This dude has serious knowledge!
When he showed himself wearing it I was stunned! Great kit for years to come!
Yeah he’s really good at this stuff
Congratulations on your work, keep it up and you will go very far. Greetings from Spain :D
That spot on that can was probably where a P 38 may have been attached to it. You’ve got to have a P 38 on your pot.
Met a soldir who fought on hamburger hill. He was a warrior. He probably had something similar to this

I never trust new peoples videos on TH-cam, I guess I just keep watching Pepsi Bois old stuff. But this is good.
I was there in 68. Many of the C-rats we had were from the 50's.

Excellent Video! I got the notification as soon as you posted.
Nice set up, looks heavy though :D
Great job putting that gear together
Just to let you know, as I heard a lieutenant curl save one time” well done Hawks well done get a case of beer for that one“ good job👍

Thank you so much!
I just found your TH-cam channel very nice content man.
Thanks! Glad you like it
Great impression!
Can you do a 101st Airborne impression during the battle of Hamburger Hill in the future?
Yeah I guess I probably could in a while
That’s really awsome sauce!
I also have a pair of unissued 1970 dated Ro-Search Panama sole Jungle boots.
You can put the aid pouch on the side of the Ammo pouch if you need room for another pouch.
Stiff and Heavy!
👍👍👍👍
amazing work, I would like to know the sources, would you recommend any uniformology books/sites?
Definitely check out Grunt. It may not be good for individual impressions, but it is great to learn about the gear.

It’s just an airsoft gun, Facebook marketplace usually has helmets for ok prices, sometimes it is just the shell though.
@@SteelPot1970 thanks man

Is the Leach Strap airborne specific, and if not where can I buy one?

give me a tip to add to my Vietnam collection
Buy a OG502 Poncho for your collection. I got lucky a couple years ago at a estate sale scoring a Mint condition one for $10.
I have World War 2 101st Airborne ❤❤
POV: you don’t credit me for helping you with the music a few weeks ago…….
@@GabeMcRich no a while ago I helped him with the process of adding music to videos without copyright.
@@minutemanstudios1338 did you ask him to credit you?
