This video deserves a lot of praise. The scenes, the soundtrack, the lightness of presenting the preparation of the sandwich. Congratulations on the video, really! The finish of the video with the blur and focus on the sandwich was perfect. Congratulations.
What about Arima Kousei? He likes his egg sandwich to be made with farm-fresh eggs from free-range chickens, and light on the mayo and salt to bring out the deliciousness. 🤤
I was craving a Japanese egg salad sandwich and came to TH-cam and this recipe 100% satisfied my craving. This was super easy to make and absolutely delicious. 100% recommend and will make again.
Thank you for teaching, Chen Sensei! My grandmother recently passed away. I've found myself turning to your website frequently in her absence. To cook is to remember. While I've been dreading our first New Year without her, your recipes have brought my family and I no small amount of comfort. Thank you.
This recipe actually brings back some memories! I used to eat this all the time as a girl in my elementary years. I grew up in Japan and I still live there to this day, I'm just always in a rush and never seem to have enough time to make this by hand. Nothing tops the homemade sandwich, as simple as it may seem to others!
For years I've bought these sandwiches from a Japanese store in New York called Panya (in the East Village) its an awesome Japanese bakery that has the best sandwiches (and bentos!)
I Remember when I first ate a tamago sando back in Hiroshima, nowadays While leaving in SouthBay ,I buy them at a Japanese grocery when I’m too tired from work . Thanks for the video. I like the presentation.
I used to buy this all the time from lawsons when I used to live in Kobe. I am not sure about the USA but Australian bread is very different to japanese. Thanks Nami. These are very tasty sandwiches.
I am soo glad your recipe does not separate the egg whites and yolks when mashing them. I kinda get why they do that in the other recipes but just watching it makes me feel tired of the extra process and find it unnecessary. So thank you thank you for simplifying this
It is Sept 2022 when I am watching this video. Japan has been pretty much closed to most foreign tourist for the past 2 years due to the pandemic. I miss JP so much. Today, it was just announced that Japan will lift most of the restrictions on foreign visitors to Japan (Finally). I'll finally be able to go and buy this tamago sando from japan 7-11. At the meantime, I really like your recipe, especially the secret of using some milk and sugar. These 2 ingredients made so much difference.
I'm so happy you did this recipe! When I studied in Osaka and went to 7-11 I loved their tamago sando! I was so sad when I left. I'm picky with American egg salad. I made this today and it made me feel so happy! Thanks again for making this!
I recomment just adding a tiny bit of sugar. My Japanese friend told me this makes the sandwich taste more authentic... and tbh she was right! I looooved tamago sando back in japan and I think the sugar really makes the difference!
So tasty, I have all the ingredients, I have always loved egg sandwiches and learning how to make them Japanese style is so much better. Thank you Nami for this recipe, see you again bye for now.
7 ...11..store, no in Okinawa LAWSONS! I see one reason Japanese egg salad is different..always more sugar.and in the USA the eggs are always harder cooked, not as yellow and drier. I love your way.
I have shoku pan and 6 eggs and going away for 2 weeks, I thought of this recipe as it's perfect for what I have 😅 thank you. I'll add cream instead of milk and some chives or parsley for colour
We keep this simple in my house. We just spread a thicker amount of butter on the bread, top with mashed egg (not seasoned in any way) then one more slice of buttered bread. The combination of butter and egg alone is soooo good already. Try it if you're short on time.
Made this just now and it's the best egg mayo I have eaten 😊 didn't put any sugar though and I used white bread made with hokkaido milk and ajinomoto mayo.
I did this exact recipe except I blended a quarter of the eggs and mixture in the blender and mixed with the rest of the eggs. It came out very creamy with chunks. Omg love this recipe!🤗😊😁
Tamago Sando in Tokyo was as advertised - outstanding. BUT, at Seven-11, they also have a version that replaces the bread with a Korean 'bao' that's lighter than clouds. By the way, when making traditional tamago sando at home, we found US mayo was inferior to Japanese Mayo in that while US mayo uses the whole egg (white and yolk), Japanese mayo only uses the yolk - ergo a much richer flavor in Japanese mayo based tamago sando. Some Japanese sandwich shops also put some green onion in their egg mixture as well as whole egg slices.
Extraordinario, cuando volví de Japón busqué esta receta por mucho tiempo, muchas gracias... Amazing, when I came back from Japan I searched for this recipe for a long time, Thanks a lot
To whoever gave me a like ! . Thank you . We have been making these 'sarnies ' for ages . It's very 'posh ' to take the crusts off . I guess that many people don't much like to chew on crusts ! If the bread is fresh and beautiful , the flavour is amazing . Do t buy any bread in plastic wrapping , please . 🙏🏼
I ate tamago sando from Seven Eleven everyday for breakfast during my trip to Japan. They were definitely the best egg salad sandwiches I've had.
So happy to hear you got to try one in Japan! :)
The ones from lawson's are great too
same!
It's the sugar
i ate it in a coffee similar to Starbucks, his name it’s Tully’s Coffee.

Our local Japanese grocery store makes these fresh but they add cucumber slices, they are my favorite.

Such a simple pleasure in a complicated world. Thanks for sharing.
I think I'll try making this for breakfast, tomorrow. The only thing I don't have is Japanese bread and mayo. Excited to try this!
I like to use honey instead of sugar and a bit of karashi mustard. I also use brioche bread when I can’t get shokupan and American cheese 😋.
We love tamago sando--even at home! Thank you for sharing your recipe tips like adding a bit of sugar and milk. Now to get some shokupan!
Hope you enjoy! Thank you for your support all the time! ❤️
Looks wonderful. I also love the music in your video.
I lived in Japan as a child. I love this channel because it takes me back to some amazing memories!

Anthony Boudain loved these egg sandwiches from 7/11 when in Japan. I must buy some Japanese mayonnaise.

Looks good. I might give this a try. Thanks for posting.
Last year I ate every morning a sandwich like this to breakfast in Japan. I loved it.
Glad you got to try! It's very common in Japan. :)
