I thought I was going to be out of pocket fixing this problem after changing my battery. Used your fix, exactly as you said and boom all solved. Well done my man, you have saved me a few pounds
I was having this problem, thought it was the purge valve issue so I replaced that, and it still wouldn't idle without dying. I found this video and tried it. Let the car run as prescribed here, and then drove it around a while. Boom, all better. Thanks!
I believe this is the exact steps (from another video) on how to relearn the idle: 1. Disconnect negative terminal on battery for 10 minutes. 2. Reconnect battery terminal. 3. Turn ignition on for 1 minute but don't start the car. 4. Turn ignition back off for 1 minute. 5. Start the car and allow the engine to idle for 5 minutes without airconditioning or any fans on. Don't accelerate. 6. Turn engine off. 7. Start the car and turn on airconditioning and allow the engine to idle for 5 minutes without acceleration. 8. Turn engine off. Engine Idle should now be reset.
if it continues to run rough check your purge valve solenoid usually is stuck open allowing vacuum into the intake ..worked for me mazda 3 2006 2.3 engine running smooth
Joe Johnson im wondering about this, i have a cel and it says im running lean, sometimes i smell gas. Rough idle, hesitation, bad gas mileage, i have some sort of vacuum leak i guess
My mazda 3 2004 four cylinders refused to for over 3 weeks now. The mechanic said it's brainbox issue. I have changed the brainbox all to no avail. Please can you help me out on how to get car started again? I love the car.
THANK YOU so much from Australia! 🇦🇺 i have a 2008 Mazda 6. I was getting so worried because nothing was fixing the problem, very rough idle and stalling when coming to a stop right after I had changed the battery, and didn’t have the money to take it in to a mechanic. Did a full service, changed spark plugs, MAF Sensor cleaned and nothing. As a last resort I searched on TH-cam for a fix and this video came up, needless to say it worked! Thank you! How did you find this fix out?
This guy speaks the truth. Have a 2008 mazda 6. Changed battery twice and as soon as I cranked it. Would idle real low and shake. First time I had no clue what was wrong and it just fixed itself. 2nd time let in run in the drive way for 30 min. Problem fixed.
Dayum! It worked just as described. I had replaced the battery in my car as well. After that, the car had a rough low idle and stalled out a couple times. An awesome fix. Thanks,
I’ma try this over the weekend. Do I do this with a new battery or the one I have (still good)? Before I do this procedure, do I have to disconnect my battery first and connect? Thx
This worked for my car and probably saved me hundreds. I appreciate it, if you know much more about Mazda 6’s post some more vids. Il check them out! Ps. Just weird I saw your vid first compared to people who have made the same vid but idgas
In the mornings, I have to start my car like 7-10 times cuz it dies, until it doesn't, then the tachometer goes up and down until it stabilizes its self. IDK whats going on 04 mazda 6 2.3L ;/
Son 20 minutos encendido Y otros 20 minutos Con el carro apagado Y el aire encendido Al máximo Y de ahí se desconecta la batería Y de ahí se enciende 20 minutos El carro En total es una hora Que se hace ?
Your hack worked great on my 2010 3i 2.0L with about 148,000 miles. I definitely noticed an improvement at idle. Thank you!

Does the AC need to be on full blast or can I keep it low?
I'm going to try this ... maybe you just saved me my friend! Anyway thank you !
If the car was to stall before the idle time was up (issue is car stalling at stop light/stop signs) do you just restart from the beginning?
Dayum!
It worked just as described.
I had replaced the battery in my car as well. After that, the car had a rough low idle and stalled out a couple times.
An awesome fix.
Thanks,
Doing this process now but I have been having high idle then it will calm down but when I press the brakes it rises in idle a little bit
same thing happens to me. Did you fix it my friend? if so, may you tell me how?
Lmaooo yooo this shit actually works

I know I also wanted an answer to this question. I just did this 2 minues ago, the answer is no you do not need to disconnect the battery first.
Worked like a charm. Thanks

Son 20 minutos encendido
Y otros 20 minutos
Con el carro apagado
Y el aire encendido
Al máximo
Y de ahí se desconecta la batería
Y de ahí se enciende
20 minutos
El carro
En total es una hora
Que se hace ?

If u cant spare 40 min then go spend 200 bux at the shop
