Come on fella's lets do our research before questioning & commenting . a x pipe or H pipe is a performace trick. Of course its not 100% true dual exhaust its dual exhaust with x pipe set up. It differs X to H resulting in back pressures & left and right bank torque incrrases h.p etc. Great job looks n sounds bad ass
It's such an awesome feeling getting a new exhaust done. Every single vehicle I've owned since I started driving, the feeling never gets old. Right now I have a stock 03 GMC Envoy with the 5.3, and am thinking of true duals on it, and later on, long tube headers. It has the towing option so it's already hoooked up with 3.73's from the factory.
I use to have a 1999 5.3 and sold it for a 98 5.7 because my 5.3 was a pos but I had true duals on both and will still say hands down the 5.3 is the best sounding motors I've ever heard
Sounds Great. I'm running 3" from long tube headers with the same xpipe, but I'm using two nice stainless deep tone mufflers from jegs. I'm going out the sides on the back of the truck as well.
I know this a older vid but there a muffler RALPHS MUFFLEES & BRAKES in Indianapolis they did a sergical true duals on my 04yukon the bends was done with ATT. TO DETAIL like I have never seen before the pipes was Evan all the way to tthe rear of the truck the welds were SUPER CLEAN the tips were spot on Evan with my bumper wait for it.........AND THEY DINT HAVE TO REMOEV MY SPARE TIRE!!!!! and that might be the reason it took them over3 hrs to compleat ..slow and steady !!!
Truck looks great man I just bought a siera and plan on doing straight pipes within the next few weeks this video is exactly what I was looking for thanks bro
Man now I know where I have seen this truck Randy at perfection muffler is my exhaust guy, I was there that day I checked it out nice truck. They fixed my exhaust problems, hard to put BBC in a 86 z28 the special headers hit floor pans, but now it is perfection, like to come to your meets but I don't do social media just you tube watcher.
Remember x or h pipes are only 100% effective with both left and right banks of pipe coming off exhaust manifolds are equal length going to the cross over.
I run 2.5" true dual pipes from cats to the start of the bed of truck, then convert to 3" bend to 90s behind tires. I personally like different size pipes and bigger pipes, it really echos and raps on my 5.3 vortec
I set my fuel cutoff to 2500rpm with HPtuners before I have my truck left at any shop for anything! I don't know about you all out there, but nobody's hot Rodn my shit but me.. Nice set up man..
I like it. What do you guys think of this? I've not tried it, yet, but it is what I'm considering. One of the True X mufflers serving as the X- Pipe and first muffler, then dumping into glass packs behind? Shouldn't that make it somewhat throaty sounding, while not being too terribly loud, but still giving it some rumble when under heavy throttle, without the droning sound, while not being very restrictive? Opinions?
Where did you get your 2 1/4 pipes? Did you have to custom-make them? I have the same truck and I am looking to do a true dual exhaust with straight pipes.
I'm still trying to figure out what I actually have on my 2005 6.0 Sierra 2500 that I just bought. It looks like it has standard manifolds going into 3" pipes to dual inlets on some sort of flowmaster muffler and then dual outlets. It sounds and looks just like yours and I like it.
Which programmer works better for my truck the super chip or the jet performance I have a 2011 5.3 with stage one truck cam plus a jet performance throttle body with a jet performance mass air flow sensor an Airaid tube and a k&N air filter plus a true dual exhaust.
We can hear you just fine right next to it . Maybe next it's time to change that Lower seat cover before somebody falls into it. Back to the exhaust the drone will be so intense you be back at the shop asking for your old muffler
I have 4 inch angled Magnaflow tips on mine and I don’t like the sound of it with the tips on there. I don’t like how the exhaust sound echoes in the tips.
I’ve been thinking about doing this to my Ford 150 FX2 with the 5.0. Just curious what the muffler shop charged out the door. I’m planning on buying the X-pipe section and having the shop do the rest....
I just went to get duals with my x-pipe like yours on my 2013 Dogde Ram 4.7..... They gave me speech about lost power sooner or later bad o2 sensors that would cost $400 to fix those.. says Dodge spends hours and hours and millions and millions of dollars on tuning fuel injection for the exhaust best flow best performance and I'll just be messing everything up. Said it's not like that days of the old when duals were good. Gave an a price of $596.00 that's crazy. This was at a mal an pal place.
No surprise that it's louder in the cabin, that's all drone. you don't have mufflers or even resonators. An exhaust rule of thumb to avoid cabin drone, any piece of pipe that has a straight run longer than 4-5ft, needs something to break up the sound vibration or you will get drone. It can be a cat, muffler or resonator or even a bend, but without it, you will get cabin drone. I've researched this for years and have worked with both Vibrant and Corsa on this. if you put some resonators in front of the x-pipe and then some mufflers behind, it would sound just as loud (if you choose the proper muffler) but won't have any of the drone or cabin noise.
I own a Nissan Titan and was thinking of doing this setup for a similar sound hopefully (I know different motors etc.) Do you ask your local shop for any specific brands like MagnaFlow or just the setup you wanted? Not sure where to begin but sick exhaust man! Love the side exit duals.
Time Waster Nick I own a Nissan Titan also and I was thinking on doing this set up as well. I wonder if it would cause to drone inside the cabin, what do you think?
I just want to know if it has that raspy "clapping" (only way I can describe it) under acceleration. Or is it a smooth rumble through the rpms and only super raspy when revved out in neutral
These trucks mostly only sound that raspy when in neutral, you'll still here a little bit of raspyness when driving sometimes but its usually not as bad in my case anyway
Hey man I'm wanting to make pretty much the same setup on my 04 only problem is so far, I can't figure out where/ how to hang the exhaust tubing. If there's a way you can send pics or make a video of it, that would be awesome. Thanks and love the truck
True duals = 2 pipes running off headers/manifolds that never connect. Dual exhaust = 2 pipes running off the headers/manifolds with a cross over (x or h) pipe to balance both banks.
I got a 6.2 2017 GMC 958hp full boalt ons Denali crew cab. Just got staright pipe no cats no resonators no muffler open headers new intercooler k&n intake stage 3 supercharger on a bulletproof lift 12 inch lift on 37x13.50R22 Nittos mts fules thing is fast as fuck 0 to 60 3.7 seconds. Thing is getting wrap and off road bumpers ironcross front and rear with led pod lights and light bar installed tommrow.
Sounds awesome! Unique angle exit, very nice man. Still has good low end torque? I just bought an 04 5.3L truck to daily. It had a red glasspack in it, I cut it out and had straight pipe in place. Sounds good and isn't obnoxious. I want dual tailpipes was thinking about Y piping where the muffler was.
Gas tank. They wont put it by the gas tank. Sadly i built my 305 in my stepwise and got longtube headers but routed it to single to dual. Legally if it were to burn down or blow up theyd be shutdown
I like how your exhaust tips are kind of hidden, what would I tell the mechanic to do if I wanted mine like that aswell? Looks really clean from the back
Come on fella's lets do our research before questioning & commenting . a x pipe or H pipe is a performace trick. Of course its not 100% true dual exhaust its dual exhaust with x pipe set up. Trick huh, wtf man
My Dodge has true duel x exhaust pipes but has no converters and it's a lot longer
X and H you don't know jack go here-> th-cam.com/video/Dd43rwLHEW4/w-d-xo.html
That what my comment was gonna be about. True duels has no x or h

I'm getting ready to run true dual 3 in with long tube headers on mine with the x pipe did you lose any low-end torque if you did was it a whole lot?
Hell yeah dude I’ve got the same exhaust but with 6” tips 👌🏼
🤣

Hey man I think it would be a good idea to make a video of how the truck sounds outside the truck while it's going down the road
Obviously it's louder now, no muffler any more.

That sounds really good. I wish I did that on my 04 Silverado, I just have the 40 on mine.
Dang , a Vortec Max with a 5.3 swap and 10 bolt swapped in place of the 14bolt. Interesting

Now this is true duals!
Opinions?
Would there be a differance if the X pipe was further towards the back??
Where did you get your 2 1/4 pipes? Did you have to custom-make them? I have the same truck and I am looking to do a true dual exhaust with straight pipes.
Quick question: Is the 2 1/2" piping the standard size, would it make a difference if it was 3" piping? Thanks.

Thinking about doin this with cherry bombs dueled out with an x. Thoughts? I have a single cherry now n it’s nice but want a bit more.
Nice setup and job....i want to get this done on my 05' silverado 2500hd with 6.0L. Right now it just has upgraded mufflers.
What else have you done to your 05 , I have a 6.0 and looking to increase power mileage anc torque?
Estimate price? 😅
I like it, I just wish you could have shot a video at the tip rolling down the road under load.
If you go with bigger tips, than it may get too loud. You should still at least get a pair of resonators right after the X to tame it just a bit
Beautiful damn Chevrolet Silverado
We can hear you just fine right next to it . Maybe next it's time to change that Lower seat cover before somebody falls into it.
Back to the exhaust the drone will be so intense you be back at the shop asking for your old muffler
What about the 02 sensor just before the factory y pipe?
Nice, I got the same exact setup except with dual super 10’s, long tube headers are next:)
Go with 5-inch tips you will definitely see a difference in the tone it will be deeper. Still will be a little loud
Very decent looking job they did
I have 4 inch angled Magnaflow tips on mine and I don’t like the sound of it with the tips on there. I don’t like how the exhaust sound echoes in the tips.
Man that sounds clean I have a 2011 5.3 I'm gonna do the metal mulisha exhaust on mine
Great video man
Hey I may have missed it but I didn’t hear you talk about how much it cost, I got the same truck dual flowmaster exhaust looking for more power
Dual exhaust sounded way better for me 😎
Sounds great man and I also live in Virginia looks like you're on the Mountainside while I'm near the beach, Chesapeake to be exact
Hey man, how much did that cost ya?
A “true dual” exhaust are 2 lengths of exhaust that run independent to each manifold
Yes and that’s exactly what they do
@@btgperformance9234 not if there is an x-pipe lmao
Im just over the mountain from you hour drive Monroe Wv
Perfection has done all my work! I have a short clip of my F-150 on here.
Are the 4 inch tips magnaflows? Or what type of exhaust tips are they?

Is it so loud that you have to crank the radio up to even hear it?
Bad Azzz Bro 👊✌
Sounds ok. Probably better in person than on a video.
Cameron R. 45 degrees
Sounds and looks awesome bro.
How did you fit this I called several places they said that it wouldn’t fit on my 2004?
Which one do you think is better for daily driving/cruising on the highway? Flowmaster or True Dual?
Do you have any videos of 5.3’s with an x pipe set up that are cammed
Check back in two weeks and there will be one on this channel 😏
Now I will be anxiously awaiting!!!!
Don’t change a thing, it looks great. Interesting no mufflers

$500

Sounds sick brother! Just did it to mine.
Does it cause code errors on O2 sensors and all that junk
I know I’m 2 years late. But how big is your x pipe? Is it about a foot long? Or is it a little bit bigger?
Does the x pipe manufacture make a difference?
I just want to know if it has that raspy "clapping" (only way I can describe it) under acceleration. Or is it a smooth rumble through the rpms and only super raspy when revved out in neutral

bowtieguy97 I know and i watched it over and over again trying to see but I couldn't tell. I'll keep looking. Thanks
Nice material, and thoughts explanation. Cheers mate!
That sounds good asf
so its a true dual xpipe straight or wit a flowmaster 40
Where would i place an x pipe on my 06 silverado crew cab z71. And would the x pipe be better then a O/R y pipe
Ok i see where u placed it lol but is the x pipe better then a O/R Y pipe?
For all the boneheads saying this isn’t true dual exhaust check out Summit racing’s video explaining H pipes and X pipes...it’s here on TH-cam.
Any type of crossover makes it not true dual. Thats elementary. 🤯🤦♂️🙄
@@jlelm3110 you’d be surprised who still calls it true dual. Even exhaust channels on here call it that
True duals = 2 pipes running off headers/manifolds that never connect.
Dual exhaust = 2 pipes running off the headers/manifolds with a cross over (x or h) pipe to balance both banks.
True duals mean no crossover. Crossovers add power but change the tone.

If u have a truck like that why no videos ima call bullshit
My 92 syclone is faster then that and all i did was put a bigger turbo on it and 2.75" exhaust system.
Awesome 👌
What if you put 2 x pipe ?? Instead of 1 x pipe will it be louder!!????
Whats your paint code on that truck?
Around how much would it cast me to do it to my truck I have the same truck just with a factory exhaust
I got a video of my 98 Z71 Silverado with full 3" dual exhaust no cats double H pipe and 3" in 3" out single chambered bottles 5" chrome tips on 90s
I know ur truck has the details in the description but do you Have an intake

Where do I get the xpipe and true duals exhaust
Nice truck what’s the name of your wheels they are Awesome
What is the average gas mileage you get with this exhaust setup?
where can you find the wheels on that truck
How did it cost to do the exhaust? I live in Richmond, VA and they say true duals cant be done on my 04 suburban. Thanks man keep up the good work
They fuckin lying it can be done on anything. All you need is a tig welder and brain. Take your business to a different shop
I think they were just to lazy to figure out a way to mount and route the piping
Gas tank. They wont put it by the gas tank. Sadly i built my 305 in my stepwise and got longtube headers but routed it to single to dual. Legally if it were to burn down or blow up theyd be shutdown

How much did I cost?
You ever had any problems with the cops about the extra noise? Don’t know if that’s a thing down in Roanoke
