Have the exact same truck as you feel years older my mileage is 123,000 exactly remind in 01 Sierra SLE short bed extended cab two-wheel drive unfortunately 5.3 l V8 I have a flowmaster FX Cat-Back dual-exhaust sounds really good got a question for you have you ever experience knock in ping sounds coming from the engine when you get up on it and floor at my truck has been doing this for get off and on a year-and-a-half I used high octane fuel for about a month it seemed to help a little bit but it still does it when I get up on it just curious if you ever heard this coming from yours?

Sounding good! These 5.3s are pretty tame with cats on them. With longtube headers and catless on my previous 04, I couldn't handle the super 10 muffler even. I put a Borla XR1 on it and absolutely loved it. ..Congrats on 100k!! I feel like I've seen your content since 5k!
Yea I had 3 inch pipe and when I tool the cats away it was louder than what I expected 🤣 I was kinda clapping the whole way up and down the road and I got so many complaints I had to put mufflers on it and I still gets complaints
That 5.3 turned out more like how my Ford 5.4 sounded when I had it true dualed. It's not super loud at idle or at lower rpm, but at higher rpm or cold starts, it's pretty loud.
Please keep doing what you’re doing don’t change who you are as you get bigger because that’s the worst thing ever when creators change their content just for more subs. Thank you for entertaining us all the time and keep up the good work! Congratulations!

Didn't know much about trucks, got a 03 Chevy at an auction for about eighteen hundred bucks, I didn't look at it the day before or anything, bought it online sight unseen, and it had true dual exhaust, I literally Crank it up and rev it up everyday just to hear that growl, when you were driving and it wasn't as loud as you expected, hoping you would park it and give it gas. Congrats on 100k!
The exhaust sounds amazing. I have true dual cat back straights on my 2012 5.3 Silverado and I absolutely love them. Every time he gets a new exhaust on one of the trucks I almost get as excited as I do when I get exhaust work done to my truck lol

Paint match flares black, mirrors with chrome caps, door bezel black with chrome handle. It’ll compliment the chrome moldin and the truck so much. It would look so sick. Blacked/smoked taillights too. Man would be so clean. That’s what I wanted, but mines white, cateye

If you are wondering about running a muffler on your tundra, it does make it much quieter. I had a 2003 4.7 true dualed with factory cats, was very loud. Added a glass pack to each pipe and it quieted it down a lot. Too much I thought.
Great video! Getting mine done today, 2010 Sierra 5.3, but I decided to go with 4’ tips. Will see how it is maybe in the future I’ll go with 5’, but depends how loud it’ll be.

And btw, that 5.3L has the most mild cam setup out of any v8 truck GM produced, once you get a bigger cam/head setup in there, you'll need face cream for as much grinnin your going to do.

I always go 40 series flowmaster 2 chamber No muffler kind of just sounds clappy when you have a good quality muffler it sounds amazing It's they tune the mufflers to sound a certain way You know that race car sound not just oh I have a '94 Astro van open header sound

I had this exact exhaust set up on my 07 cat eye. and it was perfect. I loved the sound. it wasn't too loud cruising. but it would get loud if you wanted it to lol.
I have a 04 sierra rocker panels and cab corners and fenders are all rusted out, sanded them and painted them. Going to be putting a new bed on it and fenders and re doing the rocker panels and cab corners and then putting a 8 inch lift with 24x12s and 35s.. yours is the definition of MINT though. Nice truck!💯
I wouldn’t skip seeing him open this. He’s worked so hard for it so it’s good to see it pay off.

I would went with smaller exhaust tips, and mirror the stock exhaust set up to other side with a polished tip.

14 inch magnaflow is the perfect exhaust for a vortec 5.3. Deep and smooth and not raspy and poppy sounding.
12in Borla is probably my favorite so far.

If I were you I would take the fender flares off because they hold dirt and moisture. That’s why mine rusted out
